Room is little too small. I changed to a bigger and paid extra for it. The room was barely enough for three. The first room did not have enough space for our luggages.

The staff was young, energetic, and friendly. The breakfast buffet was outstanding, with do-it-yourself donburi bowls and a good variety of local dishes, fesh and fried. The breakfast staff was particularly polite and engaging. The second floor lounge was comfortable and suitable for families with children. We will definitely look for OMO5 locations on future trips.
The family-friendly nature of the place meant there were a lot of children, which we weren't expecting on our couple's holiday. Not necessarily a negative, just an observation.
A brand new hotel with good location and nice staff and service. Good breakfast as well. Nevertheless free shuttle for sightseeing.
- Convenient location, only about 3 minutes walk from Hakodate Station and next to huge MaxValu grocery store- Free guest-only sightseeing bus that stops at most popular spots in Hakodate- Beautiful OMO Base/lounge, thoughtfully designed to reflect Hakodate’s fishing culture with unique snacks and souvenirs available for purchase - Modern cashless Electrolux laundry machines (6 wash and 6 dryers total on two floors) - separated which is great so dryers don’t take up a washing machine
- Superior Twin Room was a bit small when opening more than one luggage- Shower stall is very cramped- Bathroom design lacks shelving/storage
Exceptional breakfast buffet (sweet shrimp, sashimi scallop and salmon for DIY kaisendons)Onsen was a great bonus, the kids loved the common area on Level 2.Staff were friendly, rooms were very clean. It was probably the best hotel we stayed at during our 6 weeks in Japan.
Breakfast options were the same everyday which got repetitive and boring
The hotel is absolutely beautiful and the bed in the room was very nice, spacious and comfortable. The staff were all knowledgeable and very helpful especially in the OMO Base Area. The local restaurant guide was so well versed in local restaurants and attractions. She should get a raise. The entire OMO Base area is a treat for the eyes, body, and soul. The hot springs are awesome with plenty of space and a great sauna and cold water conveniently spaced close to one another.I enjoyed the steam sauna, too. A completely different experience from the traditional dry sauna. The view from the room was generally great save for a giant structure on the veranda which obscured the view. It was beautifully designed to reflect the OMO5 pattern. Being able to go out on the veranda in order to take a picture of the mountain was a very nice touch. The elevators were fast and efficient. They immediately tell you which one will come to your floor first so you can line up accordingly. This was very helpful. The Krocs like shoes to been worn all over the hotel were comfortable and nicely designed for even large footed personages as myself. The hot springs bucket was a waterproof silicon. What a great idea!
Unfortunately, a few design flaws and lack of the typical giveaways you see at hot springs hotels soured our trip which was supposed to be our Marriage anniversary.First, the number for the Front Desk was not anywhere to be found physically in the room. (#9 on the phone) My wife had to look up the answer in the nether regions of the QR code they gave us to use. It was not located anywhere else physically in the room. What if there was an emergency or something? No one has time to doom scroll after a number so essential to hotels all over the world.Normally at hot springs hotels, you bring your towels to the area from your room. The kind and knowledgeable young gentleman at the Front Desk informed us that there are towels inside the hot springs AFTER you enter. We went there late in the evening and the entry way was darkened and when we entered our respective areas, there were not in fact any towels at all. I redressed and called the front desk with a phone which conveniently had the number for the front desk on it (this was well after we had looked for it earlier)The towels were located in the entry way but it was dark, and the towels were the same color as the enclosure, and played deep inside it, and we were armed with the info that the towels were INSIDE the hot springs. There was no way to get that info to my wife. So, what should have been a wonderful experience was severely soured. She had to undergo the humiliating experience of using the hair dryer to dry her entire body. The hot springs were as comfortable as I mentioned but the outdoor hot springs were rather chilly due to the inclimate weather. The traditional oyukake was a bit small and difficult to use.Now for the OMO Base, which I mentioned before. There are always free ice creams or popsicles when you exit the bath at other hot springs hotels but here there were only paid items.
Good breakfast options and last until 10am, onsen facilities are well maintained, common area on 2/F was also very spacious and relaxing.
One local guest brought her phone into the onsen facility and took pictures. Room cleaning was relatively limited compared to other hotels of the same class. Busy weekend also means the carpark was full if you return in the evening, but alternative carpark of the same price was very close across the street.
Location is good, staff tried their best to apologise when things were not up to par. Appreciate their apologies but would be better if they solved the problem instead or just sorry. Convenient shuttle bus to tour ard Hakodate.
Onsen was small, outdoor onsen has no views. IncoveniencesI booked a king plus sofa bed for 3 pax and when I walked in the sofa bed was not made up so I requested for them to make it, they said all guests have to make it themselves according to company policy, its not typical that a full fledged hotel would not do your third bed for you. I also was not told that there is only water dispenser between 6F to 10F. My room was on 4F, only saw the signs in the lift after check in. Requested to change to a room, they said they were full. The room was not made everyday, they only threw rubbish and change the towels.
Good selection and staff was quick to clear used plates
Carparking
Free shuttle! Osen is nice! And love their facilities. Hotel staff are very friendly and helpful, feel warm during the stay
Love the osen and the free shuttle bus.. Also the breakfast was wonderful and tasty. Good location near JR station.
The included Onsen was great. The location was good too, being close to JR Hakodate. It’s also close to the morning seafood market. The buffet breakfast included was perfect.
Rooms were a bit small
Super nice location, the onsen is epic. Got indoor and outdoor section, it was snowing outside, stay in the onse with snow flakes on your hair ia dreamy. Breakfast is super nice, stuff speaks Japanese, Korean, English and Mandarin chinese, really helpful.
Room could be a bit larger, but it is normal size in Japanese standard, so not really a problem.
Onsen was pretty good. The resting place at second floor is cozy
Bed was quite small. Other than that no major issue with the room
The room and the bath were great, nice view of the city from our room, right next to the station.Staff were very friendly and they offer a shuttle bus around the city and select times, you just have to book. Check in was smooth and seamless. On site laundry is super helpful, cashless though and you have to do it by your phone and a QR code. A microwave and a vending machine. There's also a shop with some local foods, twas and gifts.Breakfast is quite seafood heavy which is to be expected given that's what Hakodate is known for. That being said I was able to have a hearty breakfast in the morning.
There was nothing that I didn't really like.
Breakfast, public bath and communal area
No!
Great location- stylish foot. Friendly staff
Newly renovated and staff are all good and nice. environment is good.
The room cleaning without refilling the body soap. Bed and pillow are not that good.
