    Pros +

    • The location is very near to station. Compared to other hotels, the price is really cheap (Maybe because it was January).
    • Made for an alright budget stay, but it'd be hard to stay here for a long time. It's a perfectly serviceable venue with nice staff, as long as you're fine with budget accommodation.
    • The location was very convenient: 10min by foot from the station so a quiet and calm place. The room was clean.A standard Japanese room with all the necessary inside: kettle, hair dryer, fridge. Lots of amenities were available at the front desk. They first selected a smoking room for me but the smell was very strong. So I asked to change room and they accepted it.

    Cons -

    • The toilet was narrow. Indoor light was only warm color. White/cool ambient would have better.
    • There are still smoking rooms in the hotel. As a consequence, you can smell, sometimes, the cigarettes in the elevator and in your room if somebody is smoking in his room, with open window.
    • The ac is too hot and I find it hard to control it, and the blower in bathroom isn’t working

    Good central location

Older hotel , needs some updating

    Location.

Staff attitude, from front desk down was underwhelming. No pride. No provision for non-Japanese guests. Place is falling apart.

    8LizPosted on: 2-23-2025

Loved the location!Simple but clean and roomy with comfortable beds.

    6JasperPosted on: 2-20-2025

    Location is alright.

The room is very run down and dirty. Stains all over the carpet, sofa and seat. Weird smell came from the sink also. No control of temperature either as room was very hot.

Location and value for money. Good laundry facilities.

The pillows were quite hard. No extra pillows available but they gave extra blankets instead!Very warm rooms and the staff’s suggestion was to leave the door open! Fortunately I found the control to the AC which was not very obvious and managed to switch it off

Location can't be beat - right in the city only one street over from the mall, station and AEON mall is 2min walk away, most of the city centre restaurants etc all within 2min walk, there are at least five parking areas (paid) within 100m.Room was a good size - I stayed twice, once in a "small double" on floor 3 and the other time in a "standard double" on floor 4. Protip if you have a lot of luggage: spring the extra 5 or 10 dollars a night for the "standard" room instead of the "small" room. The room is only maybe 600mm (2ft) wider, but the USABLE space is MUCH larger (at least twice as much free floor area).Floor 2 is the smoking floor and I couldn't smell anything from floor 3 or 4... nor on floor 5 (laundry) or floor 6 (microwave). Staff were great and super helpful... I lost my parking ticket and went to the counter for help, a young guy (Ren) came all the way out to the parking lot, called the company for me, and helped me to get out. I speak some Japanese but there is NO WAY I could have had that conversation on the phone by myself. This was a HUGE help and I really appreciate it!Standard Japanese cleaning service - new towels daily with scheduled room cleans every three or four days. I asked for an extra clean one day and they were happy to do it. They cleaned the next day too but I didn't realise and I left a heap of clothes on the bed to dry.... when I came back they had moved all my clothes, made the bed, then put all the clothes back on the bed to dry neat and tidy and perfectly lined up!There was a fire alarm and subsequent evacuation while I stayed, staff were professional and organised while we waited in the lobby and we were back in our rooms in MAXIMUM ten minutes.

Honestly there is not much at all. Some reviews said it smelled like cigarette smoke, but I am sensitive and couldn't smell it at all. Other reviews talk about the building age and the building IS old but it's clean and well maintained - Japan doesn't upgrade things just for the sake of it, so it's normal for lower-priced hotels like this to feel a little old but serviceable. That being said Tabist are currently upgrading their other hotel and I have a feeling this one might get a facelift soon. The price was reasonable but a little higher than other areas nearby.. I think this is more to do with the fact that asahikawa in peak season can be a little pricey, not just that hotel. At approximately AU$100 per night in the middle of the snow festival it was one of the cheapest available, so that's pretty good considering similar hotels in sapporo were $500/night.The view from floor 4 on the southern side of the building is a concrete wall.. this wasn't a problem for me as I really was just sleeping there, but here's another protip if you like a good view (or if you need morning sun to wake up) - ask for an externally-facing room on the north or east sides on floors 2/3/4/5, or a externally-facing room on a high floor (6/7/8) on any side. I think the best view would be from floor 7 or 8 on the northeast or southeast corners of the building.

Needed somewhere simple and cheap for a work trip and this hotel was fine. Location close alto station and restaurants.

Car park right next door was great but no discounts for hotel guests anymore which was a pity.

Nice affordable hotel which suited our needs.

We were put on the smoking room even though we booked "standard" rooms. The staff said we booked smoking rooms so maybe there is a discrepancy or translation issue between Booking and the hotel.

    Very dated rooms, no facilities

very close to the JR station and the AEON mall so we can travel and buy food easily , this time we take a flight to leaving ASAHIKAWA and there a airport bus stop just opposite the road it is so nice.

The reception communicated very fluently in English, something we found very difficult in Japan. The room was ready the moment we stepped in.

The heater worked so well to a point that we have to shut it off because it just gets too hot..

Good stay, but it got more expensive as the days went on so I had to leave.
