Pros +
- The pool and hot springs were really nice! A complete joy and a memorable experience!Get up early in the morning, explore and experience the unusual!
- Amazing hotel, incredible views and a fantastic spa.
- The breakfast bar was superlative; dinner was some of the best we'd had in the region. The grounds, the spa, the attention to all the tiny details....all amazing. This is our second trip to the Bagni Vecchi and it exceeded our expectations again.
Cons -
- It was awkward at first, we felt uncomfortable with the vibe (totally unprepared) for what was expected. Happy hour..everyone must wear bathrobe and flip flops. OK! But how about closing the robes up!! Self serve bar...no idea that was the process! Again awkward! First time there, you are confused and out of sync.
- The room can be a little small, and the additional space treatments are pricy.
- The spa facilities can get overcrowded, especially on weekends. However, for hotel guests, the first hour in the morning (8:30-9:30) remains quite peaceful, even on busy days. The Bormio ski resort is just a 10-minute drive away. It is a relatively small resort, best suited for beginner and intermediate skiers, though it does offer some long runs and some opportunities for off-piste skiing.

The fantastic location provides breathtaking views of the valley, making every moment special. The natural spa is wonderful, offering soothing thermal baths in a serene setting. Service is attentive and welcoming, ensuring a comfortable stay. The spacious and elegant rooms add to the charm, with stunning valley views. To top it all off, the breakfast is excellent, featuring a delicious spread to start the day. A perfect retreat for relaxation and rejuvenation!

Everything! The check-in was smooth, the room was comfortable and well-designed, with a great view. The spa was excellent, and the scenery made it even better. I also liked the aperitivo and the breakfast – great selection and really tasty
Nothing, everything was great
Amazing location, very good breakfast. Rooms very clean and all staff very friendly and helpful
I was so blown away on all the relaxing types of rooms the spa had. The highlight was the cave to the grotto, and the infinity thermal spa.
We would have liked to eat dinner in our robes since it is a spa.
Location was amazing, Spa was fantastic with amazing pool views, food was excellent
Rooms too hot, you cannot be a luxury hotel if you have no sleep quality. If I want to turn myself into a jacket potato sitting in my microwave is cheaper. Yes there is climate change but I am typing this from a room in the same region that costs a third of the price with climate control air conditioning. This hotel is too focused on day guests. As a resident it's impossible to get a drink as they shut restaurant in between day guests bun fight special till dinner. Reception told us to go to restaurant and ask for a drink there. We found initially a negative approach, not open, etc, before finally making a point we couldn't buy anything anywhere within hotel as no bar.
The view is fantastic, if you get the right room. We did have to say something about that and then did get the better room (had to pay a bit more for it?). What you have to realise is that there is a thermal spa which apparently has public access from other people. We had not realised this. Because of this, sometimes very crowded.
The crowds in the thermal baths due to free entry (perhaps for a fee) of other people (not being hotel guests). As a result, restaurant was also very crowded.
We had a magical stay here. A beautiful view from our room, access to the numerous bathing options with such lovely attention to detail, and one of the best included breakfasts we've come across. We were sad to stay only one night and would definitely come back in the future.
Minor details, but we had to ask for the heating in our room to be turned on and there wasn't any soap in our bathroom.
Amazing spa facilities
Restaurant was poor - not terrible, just very ordinary and unexciting (but breakfast buffet was excellent)No bar.
Very charming historic hotel in a beautiful location with incredible views. We were upgraded to a spacious suite which was a delightful surprise and very much appreciated as we were there to celebrate my husband’s birthday. Great spa facilities including ancient Roman baths and a wonderful outdoor infinity pool with panoramic views. Very comfortable bed, very clean and has a real sense of history. Good breakfast.
Shower not great - mounted too low for my husbands to get under. Restaurant food was average and seemed reheated rather than freshly cooked to order. The hotel access was blocked off due to a bike race and while we understand it was outside the hotel’s control, the staff seemed very confused about whether the road was open, when it would open etc…. - they needed to be on top of this to keep guests informed.
Incredible location, good breakfast, very friendly staff
Charming property in a gorgeous location, with friendly and welcoming staff.
The SPA experience fell far short of expectations. The intense overcrowding completely destroyed any chance of relaxation. Considering the hotel's premium pricing, the exclusive access for guests (limited to one hour, 8:30-9:30 AM) offered negligible value. Unless early morning exclusivity is crucial for you, I strongly advise seeking alternative accommodations and purchasing a day pass or hourly SPA access. The overall experience simply didn't justify the hotel's cost.
Facilities with all the different water therapies was an absolute dream. So many different areas to explore and although, with people coming in on day passes, it was busy, we were still able to find areas of quiet and relaxation.
Music in the restaurant - awful. If it had been more like the music in the Relaxation Room then it would be fine, but it was bordering on jazz and, personally, we can't stand jazz !! It was also piped outside into the area where there were a few deckchairs for catching some sun rays, outside main Reception. Really not necessary to have music.
Super clean rooms in the hotel.Amazing breakfasts and really nice staff.
Very beautiful location, cozy hotel, SPA is excellent, restaurant is good.
A lot of people in Spa in the evening, some of the electric car chargers didn’t work, we were not able to charge our car.
Very peaceful, nice and the staff are very helpful and friendly, especially in the Reception.
The only negative thing i could say is the entrance and the parking area. There are just 4-5 parking spaces for the hotel visitors and some spaces were taken by motorcycles. On the driveway there were a lot of cars parking at the side and the road is very narrow that you have to be careful and you have to drive forward and backwards so that you could pass through the cars.
The view, certain baths if not full of people.
So full of non hotel loud and rude guests sometimes there was no space available anywhere to go, at one point everything was so full I could only go back to the hotel room. People shouting and talking on the phone. People smoking with cigarette butts then left on the ground. Breakfast nothing extraordinary. Room very small. Parking a nightmare.Their main objective is to make as much money as possible by cramming as many outside guests as possible, so if you are ok with the above I suggest you go sleep somewhere cheaper and go here early in the morning as a guest.Laundry prices like gold, 6 euros for 1 t-shirt, a total rip off, good thing there is self laundromat in town. Virtually no added value in being a hotel guest if not the few moments in early morning or late afternoon where there are not too many people and you can somewhat enjoy some saunas/baths/pools.I left this place more stressed than when I came in!
the facilities and my room was excellent. Friendly and very helpful staff. My every need was taken care of.
The booking process was a little complicated because my booking was cancelled and I then had to rebook it.
