About

Surrounded by the majesty of the Dolomites, Eight Cortina expresses a contemporary vision of mountain hospitality, just a few minutes from the center and the ski elevators. A refuge in which to experience Cortina all year round, where the wonderful UNESCO heritage nature meets the contemporary elegance of Eight. The days begin with a panoramic breakfast and continue with outdoor activities and moments of pure relaxation. Among spaces dedicated to wellness featuring a swimming pool, sauna, and wellness areas, as well as two restaurants, one of which is located within the iconic VIP Club, the atmosphere alternates between the energy of Cortina and the spirit of Eight, in a balance that complements every way of experiencing the mountains.

    Pros +

    • Staff and how they treated my wife and I.
    • The property was newly renovated so the hardware was very nice. One can tell the materials and amenities are of high quality.
    • Advertised as a 5 Star hotel but failed miserably

    Cons -

    • Staff felt very inexperienced (I think they might have just opened for the summer season). They tried to be helpful but they didn’t seem to know what to do in many occasions. e.g. (1) we asked for the first aid kit (to patch up some minor scratches) and we were initially told they didn’t have one by one staff member, but when we asked a different person later we were provided with what we needed. (2) A used tea cup (with tea stain and the bottom) wasn’t changed / washed after housekeeping, and when we told front desk about it we were met with an eye-roll. (3) no coffee capsules were provided despite having a Nespresso machine, and when we asked the front desk, somehow they could only provide them the next day…None of these issues were fatal per se, but for the 5-star positioning this hotel is going for, the level of service felt inadequate.
    • Noisy rooms, plus no heating in room
    • I didn’t like the fact that the hotel doesn’t have a ski room to leave your ski equipment or any spa or gym facilities

I loved the variety of options the hotel offers for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The staff are extremely welcoming, and the rooms are high tech.

I didn’t like the fact that the hotel doesn’t have a ski room to leave your ski equipment or any spa or gym facilities

walking distance to the town centre and bus station. staff at breakfast was amazing, so friendly and helpful and went above and beyond - I think his name is Massimo

All the rooms have Mountain Views - so don’t bother paying extra for a Mountain View room. we did but still didn’t get the room with the ‘better’ Mountain View.

the design is very nice. the staff maximo who served us during breakfast was superb. he was always smiley, prompt and even gave us mango and remembered what we needed every morning we showed up during breakfast!

    10RichardPosted on: 3-12-2023

Beautiful hotel, very close to town center, wonderful staff especially Massimo, cozy Dolomiti style, fireplace at bar, great breakfast, wonderful room view

Missed having hot tub/pool which they are adding this year.

decorations in the hotel, location very close to city centre and sky lift

at our arrival the toilet was dirty, there was poop inside. we called the reception 3 times before they sent someone after 50 minutes (we drove for 8 hours and couldn't even pee at our arrival for 50 minutes) - no apologies, no discounts on the very high price we had to pay for the super tiny room. Also, at checkout, the same receptionist that 'took care' about the poop situation, asked us if everything was ok during our stay, pretending that nothing even happened. We sent pictures and videos to booking.com that gave us a small refund, but nothing from the hotel.

breakfast was delicious, our room had a fabulous view of the mountains, our bed was very comfortable, and the hotel has a lovely bar and open fire to sit and enjoy in the lounge area. The hotel Europa has kept its charm with the lovely ski chalet vibe styling, especially in the lounge area and restaurant.

we liked everything! maybe the room was a little too warm, quickly attended to by the reception..

Breakfast was magnificent. Staff was exellent. Rooms are great.

I was on the right wing of the hotel in the first floor. A bit of music noise was coming from the VIP club attached to the property but it was bearable. I would ask for rooms in higher floors.

Great modern room with a fabulous view. Location was an easy walk into town which was handy for going out but the hotel is a long walk to the lifts. There is a bus stop close by and the buses come around every 15mins (depending on the time of day) so if you time it right, this is a good option. There's a great bar downstairs which was a good meeting spot for pre-dinner drinks (we travelled with extended family). Breakfasts were amazing. Special mention to Massimo. Super efficient, friendly and anticipated our every move.

As per some of the other reviews, the noise from the VIP club was quite loud on the Friday night. We stayed Mon-Sat so were only affected one night. The other nights were very quiet.

I would not stay here again under any circumstances.

Poor facilities, very small room and tiny bathroom. Staff are unfriendly. Bar pens at 4 PM but there are no options for even a coffee. Booking photos of room are misleading.

Excellent location, marvellous staff and breakfast

Nicely decorated. Great ambiance. Very nice staff. Excellent breakfast.

    8DavidPosted on: 2-14-2023

All the staff were all very helpful. the rooms were spotless. the bar at night time had a lovely atmosphere

the only issue I had was that I thought the rooms were a little too small

    10IztokPosted on: 2-13-2023

food was very good.the stuff is extra friendly and fast

the menu for dinner is good but it should change everyday, because after 4 days you cannot choose another dish.

    9MaddiePosted on: 2-5-2023

Beautiful decor. Wonderful staff and brilliant location.

For the price they could have free tea and coffee making during the day but it was extra charge. We we warned about the night club on Friday night and asked for quiet rooms. (not all of us did)
