Pros +
- - very tasty breakfast - good sauna and relaxing area- enough parking space- location is okay, there are a couple of routes
- Right next to a palace. Wonderful view from balcony. Quiet at night.
- Great location, half way between Salzburg, Berchtesgaden and a 75min trip to Hallstatt via car. Hotel is amazing- nice room size w/couch, comfy bed and plenty of room for suitcases, eg: shrunk. Huge bathroom. 300m flat walk from hotel in Germany to bus stop in Austria (to Salzburg). Bus is free (part of the spa tax at hotel) to Salzburg (where parking is an issue). This hotel has more amenities than any I've stayed at previously (& we travel a lot): very good breakfast/free; counted 19 bikes available for touring the roads/hiking paths for free (all the bikes were kept in amazing shape); indoor pool (& outdoor pool that was a little chilly in October); 2 saunas (at roughly 30C); weight area; exercise area with 2 or 3 cardio machines and the best part- running paths in every direction- typically ran 5-10 miles every morning, loved it. Hotel was absolutely beautiful, could take pic's of it from magazines.
Cons -
- - you cannot smoke on balcony
- The communication from staff wasn't that clear. I often felt confused or like I was doing something wrong. I had no idea where anything was and had to go searching for the pool/gym/common lounge area by myself. I have no idea how you would access any of the spa wellness stuff or if that was even running. I think they don't get international guests that often as all the signage/menus are in German. The staff were nice though and all up it was fine - it's just maybe not as luxurious as I thought it would be. More of a small town retreat for people in Germany rather than tourists for Salzburg like me. There was also a 14 euro cash fee for a bus pass / tourist activity discount for Bad Reichenhall. This was never explained though - you just have to pay. And as I wasn't going to Bad Reichenhall at all I thought it was a bit of a waste. And the restaurant is cash only (unless over 50 euro) which was annoying as a solo traveller.
- The bathroom, clean but very small.

Beautiful location. Right in the mountains - absolutely stunning views and lovely area to walk around. Felt very safe. Bus to Salzburg was just down the road and ran every half hour. Good breakfast - loved the scrambled eggs! Comfortable lodge-like feel.
