Pension Wachau

It was within 5 minute walk from where we were visiting friends. It was very clean with old style recently renovated /refurbished decor. Owners were VERY accommodating with adjusting to our changing arrival time and with our departure situation. Quiet neighborhood. They even accommodated our baggage storage for the day while we toured locally after checkout time. They were very eager to please us.

We did not take the breakfast option as it seemed a little pricey. Food did look to be good.

The location was not bad. It was very quiet. The host and the staff were very polite and helpful. We liked the breakfast and the small garden that you can sit under the trees and enjoy you drink.

Everything was very nice, We spent really beautiful time in the Klagenfurt and in the guesthouse. We met with open hands, warm attitude. I travelled for the education trip with two kids, and they were very happy in the guesthouse Wachau. Thank you so much, hopefully we will have a chance to come back.

My wife and I have been staying at Pension Wachau for twenty years now and we enjoy the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. Our room had all of the expected modern amenities, very comfortable bed, great shower, and a lovely breakfast. Anyone looking for somewhere to stay in Klagenfurt, look no further than Pension Wachau.

The room felt a little snug, however, we did have large luggage. The breakfast was varied, plentiful and tasty. The people were helpful and friendly.

Quiet pension, in walking distance from the lake. Breakfast was good. Great place to stay overnight when travelling.

The pension is located in a quiet area. About halfway between the city center and the lake (Wörthersee).

I waited 5 min for hot water in the shower in the morning, I arrived late and wanted to dring own coffee. But it was not possible to get boiled water from reception or from kitchen after 22.00 :-(

walking distance to Minimundus. Rooms small but very comfortable beds and pillows.

On arrival, they did not prepare the rooms we booked (rooms with balcony in the pension, different price). when asked they tried to change but wanted to give us an apartment in an apartment block building across the street, claiming it is the pension. When refused the owner was very arrogant, arguing that us asking to receive what we have booked is not normal and mentioning that if we do not like the situation, he can cancel and we should find another hotel. When charging, he wanted to charge the price for rooms with balcony for the rooms that did not have a balcony. It was corrected after we pointed that out. At all tourist friendly, at all hospitable, very arrogant. For his attitude only I will not choose his location in the future. Although a bit small, the rooms were very clean and comfortable, however the carpet in the hallway leading the travelers to the rooms needs a serious clean up.

The location of the pension is few minutes drive from the lake, it is about 20min walking distance. We enjoyed the stay in the pension, room was perfect for family 2 adults and 2 teens, Breakfast was excellent with fresh food, eggs, bred, etc. The owner was in the reception welcoming us and giving us all required information about Klagenfurt. We went twice to the lake swimming at the stadtbad, everything was clean and organized.
