Hotel Goldener Hirsch

Stayed recently and had a brilliant experience. The breakfast was excellent fresh hot food, plenty of choice, and really well presented. The room was spotless, comfortable, and had everything needed.The staff were genuinely friendly and helpful throughout, which makes a huge difference. The restaurant was also fantastic – great food, good atmosphere, and attentive service.Overall, a really well-run hotel and somewhere i’d happily return to.

Great location, friendly staff and excellent Breakfast

The breakfast menu had a good variety catering for lots of different people. If we could change anything, we would love to see freshly squeezed juice added to the menu.

The room would get very dry in winter, with heating on or off.

Everything was great, clean, delicious, the staff was very nice!!!

The only thing I didn't understand was the TV's placement along the bed! The room is small, but cozy.

Pretty much everything was good. The duplex space, the bed, the staff and the location.

Thin walls and noisy neighbours. Perhaps we were unlucky.

The staff, location and restaurant are excellent. The room was a little traditional but clean and well looked after. We would certainly recommend this hotel and the town itself.

Lack of air-conditioning. May be rather hot in summer.

It is perfect for families with young children. The manager and reception were outstanding! The rooms were clean and comfortable.

The dinner cooked on the premises was very yummy. The room is designed with a disabled person in mind such as having a wet room which was great.

There was no air conditioning. The room as such was roasting. The breakfast was a very poor selection. No staff members were there ever to top up food and as such many things ran out. No staff member checked in with us at all during our staff. There was only one tea as provided by the room which wasn't replaced when I requested the room to be cleaned. The doors don't lock from the inside which was annoying when I have a toddler who loves to open a door. The sofa and one of the pillows was made from very itchy material which made them unusable. The water in the shower was not consistent and would changed from very hot to cold. It wasn't worth the money the hotel is asking for.

The location was excellent for things to do. The staff was so kind that the negatives didn’t matter much.

Rooms were either too hot or filled with bugs, maybe even bed bugs. Definitely could use an update on everything, but the staff was so kind we didn’t really even care that much.

Located in the city center in am old traditional building, large rooms.

No AC - it was very hot inside and no insect protection on windows.Lady at the reception was hard to convince to help.We were staying at this hotel during the city festival while in transit (we found out with 1-2 days in advance, with no alternatives) and it was extremely noisy with the show happening exactly in front of the hotel with loud music until 12:30 to 1:00 AM.

Fantastic location but still so peaceful at night. Beautiful town with great little shops and lots of history. The content garden is a must see plus drinks at the Dicker Hund cannot be beaten. Wonderful staff at hotel, nothing was too much trouble.
