Novotel Karlsruhe City

Nice and clean rooms in a great location in the middle of the city with easy access to restaurants, bars, and shopping.

The rooms where not well isolated and you could almost constantly hear people walking around in adjacent rooms and outside of the rooms. The gym is in the same room as the sauna so when someone walks out its impossible to relax in quiet.

clean room, comfortable beds, friendly staffs, nice breakfast. They offer tea and lemon water and some small snacks in the lobby. Very comfortable after a long trip.

The location is good, close to the public transportation station, also close to the shopping mall and Marktplatz. The room is modern and clean. The breakfast is super nice with freshly cooked omelette.

The pillow is too soft for me. And there is a little noise, sound proof could be improved.

Rooms are great!Breakfast is fantastic and worth the price.

The air conditioning was a bit lacking and sound proofing as well.

Its not my first time in the hotel however this time bed cover was not clean at all with very bad smell ! I tried to leave a piece of paper for the room service to change it however they insisted to keep them dont know why !

The location

The bed was not comfortable. The coffee machine did not work as well as the heater. However , they provided free of charge few items in the many bar which was nice gesture

No aircon in room, had to be moved, no restaurant, no atmosphere…very expensive

The hotel staff quickly changed our room when we found the AC wasn't working.

I like the location, nice design hotel - and breakfast is wonderful, although the breakfast is really too expensive. (€25)The hotel is very comfortable, beds good nice size rooms and great decor. I also liked the free minibar offer.

This Novotel is very comfortable, however, I find the rooms a bit ''cheap'' - meaning, towels are really not very nice, the shower head broke and had to be fixed (although they fixed it very quickly, which I appreciated!) And I've stayed in the hotel twice in the last few months, and both times I had trouble charging my devices. Once I complained, it worked better, I don't really understand what the issue was - but it is weird. It's like they have extremely low voltage going to the plugs in the rooms. It's comfortable, but I find the hotel kind of the a similar quality to the Motel One, but the Motel One is better value for the money. Novotel's breakfast is much better than Motel One, but I think more than double the price.

Great room, light, warm, friendly staff, great parking place and easy check out.

We didn't try the breakfast but it seemed fairly simple and expensive.

Love the cleanliness of the rooms and entire hotel. The breakfast is excellent!

I missed the chocolate that used to be in the minibar - maybe some mini chocolates in the future?

They do not allow early check-in. If you arrive before 15:00, and want to check-in, they charge a 30€ fee.

The two single beds were just pushed together, 2 separate duvets gap to fall between the two beds

The family friendly aspects were a perk - toys and books in the lobby as well as friendly and accommodating staff.

Nothing comes to mind except the breakfast buffet was a bit expensive.

Breakfast was very good

I had big stains on my sheets, the room was really chilly, despite the fact that the window was on the ''inner yard'' and relatively warm weather outside. The blankets also were quite small. However, the most importantly was the fact that the door to the room was not locking nether from inside nor from outside.

The hotel seems to be brand new. Everything is clean. Loved that the room has no carpet. Free mini bar. Apples, tee and candy free at the lobby.

the pillows are too flat. Despite sleeping on two it felt like sleeping on no pillow at all. The aircon is also used for heating. This was not se great as the humidity in the room dried out. It is also very loud. But when you turn it off the room is very cold (during the winter time). Maybe it would have been better to have floor heating or standard radiator.

One can tell that the hotel was recently renovated, the room is great. Free minibar is a great add-on! It is right on the metro station which eases the commute!

Everything. Terrible experience. All started off by the the front desk staff. She was rude. When I asked if she spoke English she grunted and rolled her eyes, she then demanded I paid upfront. I explained reservations said I could pay cash when I left when I called them day before along with parking. She said no you pay now or leave. When I asked to speak to a manager she called the reservations manager and not hotel manage. I could hear her complain over the phone, as she thought I didn't understand German. When reservations manager came she said I never called them yesterday, I'm lying. I showed the phone logs and asked why is she calling me a lier. Then she said we don't need your buisness you can leave if you want Reservations also didn't point out there is massive building works 5 m away from one side of the hotel. Which is extremely loud. I was placed in the closest room to this. I went down and asked for change room. The woman ignored me and went in the back on her phone. The other receptionist apologised and when taken me to the new room, said this was embarrassing and that her co work put me in a bad room on purpose and done this time before. In the night, someone was having a party in the room next door at 2 am on a Thursday. The night porter moved me room, then the ac unit was broken making crazy noise. He apologised saying he asked them to fix it before. Then it was 4 am before I was in a room I could sleepFor breakfast it was old cold, not fresh. The hotel manager was shocked but said they are trainee staff. And what do we expect with new staff
