Mercure Salvador Rio Vermelho Hotel

Excellent location right on the ocean, near many great restaurants. In-house restaurant had great breakfast buffet, and dinner had excellent food and wine options.

Check in and out process is a little slow.

Great location in Rio Vermelho - we walked into town a few times, or we were able to get an Uber easily to other parts of the city. We had wonderful massages at the spa, but we didn't spend too much time by the pool! There's a view of a small beach which was pretty but probably not swimmable. The breakfast was great.

There was some kind of conference happening while we were there, and it was right next to the pool and spa (you have to literally walk past meeting rooms to get to the spa) which felt like a strange layout choice - I felt weird in my bathing suit or after my massage walking past large groups of people in suits.

I will not recommend your place!

I was already staying in the hotel and I asked to extend my stay for 2 more days way ahead of time and your facility personnel was not very helpful assisting me with finding another hotel, left me/kick me out "I was home less". Nor a very good experience!

Te location was very nice and the swimming pool too.

There were constant issues with communication, as only a few staff members spoke English (and they weren’t always available). Most of the team spoke only their local language.We also ended up paying more than what was indicated on Booking.com. Despite what was stated, half board was apparently not included.We had to argue for three days before they finally agreed to include one dinner dish (without water or any drinks).

The safety box didn’t work properly, nor did the AC. Breakfast was not included.

The location is excellent, and the pool overlooking the sea is marvellous. The kitchen and pool staff are friendly and attentive.

We had booked an expensive room with a sea view. Upon arrival, we were placed in a terrible room that was humid and full of leaks with water dripping from the ceiling. When asked, the frontdesk and service personell refused to admit there was a problem with the room. It took us a lot of arguing and forceful words to get a better room. It appears that the frontdesk was aware the room was leaky and humid, but gave us the room anyway. Terrible service by the frontdesk and the service personell.

The location of hotel was excellent.

It was difficult to navigate service because there were no English instructions or staff did speak English.Could not find information for food menu or spa services due to language barrier. I wished I knew some Portuguese.

The hotel meets expectations based on what it advertises, but the service left much to be desired. The reception staff only handled the basics and were not helpful with any requests beyond check-in and check-out. Room service was fine for the first two days, but on one occasion, my order never arrived. When I called to check, I was told there had been a system issue, and all orders had been lost. It was very frustrating and poorly handled.

The staff were terrific and the manager went out of his way to help me recover a towed vehicle during the busiest time of the year.

Room service was okay. It could have been better.

Fantastic staff and amazing facilities. We were very pleasantly surprised with the breakfast and the pool area. The rooms were spacious and comfortable and we had everything we needed for a good holiday stay. I felt like this would be a great hotel for a work vacation. The beach right next to the hotel is also great and there are a lot of stores and restaurants nearby.

Perfect location for Salvador! Rio Vermelho is one of the busiest neighborhoods in the night. It is far enough from the sound but close enough for a short walk to the hotel if you drink. There is also a lot of cops close by making sure the whole place is good watched.The breakfast is amazing! They do tapiocas with the ingredients you choose (which for me was the highlight). It was by far the best breakfast I had in Brazilian northeast shore.I also loved the cleaness, the room itself, the bed, matress and the pillow!

The pool is full of mosquitos. Maybe this is just a normal thing, but it was definitely not cleaned overnight, and some guests left some trash on the tables so it was completely full of mosquitos by the pool. The pool was also not cleaned in the morning, so not way to take a bath. At Salvador, 8 AM in the morning is already warm enough for a bath outside!What I did not like from the breakfast: If you love expressos, beware they only have these big nespresso machine (but somehow not the good one). They have a capuccino machine from 3 Coracoes which for me is the best, but they add too much sugar in it. One last thing I did not like in the bathroom: why did they designed the tolets twards the wall instead of the mirror? It somehow fits people bellow 1,60m, I would guess. It is really annoying to use it 45 degrees.

The property is located in front of the ocean. It is surrounded by nature and has a beautiful landscape. The neighborhood offers quality restaurants, bars, and stores. The rooms are comfortable. The restaurant offers local cuisine with an ample variety of dishes. The staff is kind and helpful.

The sea in front of the hotel is polluted and unsuitable for swimming. Due to the salty environment, the property requires minor repairs. The ratio price-quality could be better.

Location, awesome swimming pool (Maurício is one of the best waiters EVER), and staff in general. Breakfast is fantastic.

Toilet seats are really bad, they actually hurt you.
