    Pros +

    • We really enjoyed the village concept - spacious, peaceful, and perfect for families with young children. The kids’ activities were excellent, the breakfast was varied and tasty, and the overall atmosphere was calm and relaxing even though the hotel was full. The location by the sea and the cleanliness of the pools and public areas were also great.
    • My family of four booked the One-Bedroom Serenity Seafront Suite and the pictures of this room are very accurate. The room was impeccably clean and the beds, including the cot for my son, were very comfortable. If you are booking this room with children, then the kids will sleep in the living room on two single beds and you and your spouse will have the separate bedroom. The bathroom and shower were quite nice and worked well as did the air conditioning in the rooms. What really separates this hotel and this room choice is the deck and view. It is absolutely stunning. I would recommend booking the top floor. My husband and daughter went snorkeling one morning with the company on site (MVD) and had a great time. However, if you have goggles, you can certainly snorkel in the water directly in front of the hotel. It is clear and quiet and there are plenty of fish. Also, breakfast is expansive with tons of sweet and savory choices. The staff is very helpful and accommodating. As for dinners, the hotel called us taxis and it was just a short ride into Agios Nikolaos to enjoy some wonderful food and desserts.
    • The location is great. The pool area is lovely. Very comfortable with kids.

    Cons -

    • Some areas of the rooms felt outdated and basic, with missing essentials like coffee, tea, or salt. The restaurant food was disappointing, and the service there was extremely slow - even the kids’ meals took almost an hour to arrive, which made it quite difficult with a small child. There’s no complimentary coffee anywhere in the hotel except breakfast, and prices at the mini market were very high. The spa experience was also poor. the treatment was uncomfortable and unprofessional.
    • This was really a fantastic hotel, so any issues we experienced were minor. The shower door is a bit more see-through than we would have liked given that we were a family and the shower was visible from the main room. The sandy beach area was on the small side, and, as happens at some hotels when they are crowded, the lounge chairs on certain parts of the grounds get "reserved" with towels for the day, so that it is harder to find a chair. (Near the pool, this is less likely as there are tons of chairs set up there.) Again, these are minor things and would not prevent us from returning if we were ever fortunate enough to find ourselves in Crete in the future.
    • Some rooms could use a renovation (shower etc)

Everything: the staff, the view, the beach and pool, the design of the entire location, the amazing food!

It’s our third time at Candia Park Village, and we absolutely love this place! It’s so relaxing and beautiful, and the staff are incredibly friendly. The food is delicious, and the kids’ club is amazing — our two kids loved the shows and the mini disco. The room is spacious, well-equipped, and very comfortable — perfect for a family stay.

    8shirPosted on: 8-30-2025

It is very suitable for family and kids, the routes are convenient for baby strollers, everything is green and the scenery is beautiful. The breakfast was rich and tasteful.

The rooms were not cleaned during our stay, the sheets were changed but that’s about it. In addition the food in the restaurant and pool bar were not very good.

    8NoaPosted on: 8-22-2025

    Great facilities, staff and atmosphere

The only thing that bothered a bit was that the air conditioning wasn’t strong enough to cool the main living area.

The resort is fantastic and perfect for families. We adored its lovely small beach, wonderful pools, welcoming restaurant and taverna, stunning scenery. All staff - receptionists, cleaners, restaurant attendants- was extremely helpful and super kind! We will be back

Beautiful, fabulous, friendly staff, amazing food!!! Everything you need for your stay is here! we didn’t need to leave the whole time.

The staff were a little grumpy about us paying for breakfast every morning instead of it being included in our stay.

The resort is beautiful, with a lot of vegetation. Our room had a nice terrace/ garden. The beach has an intimate feeling and has natural shadow, mainly in the afternoon. The Greek night at the main restaurant was very entertaining with music and dance.Very good resort for families with (small) children.

The a la carte restaurant and the beach bar are both very pricey. One dinnner costs aprox double the amount it costs at a regular greek taverna. Also, the a la carte restaurant does not have enough fish/sea food options and the one night we had dinner at the buffet, it had just one dish with fish and wasn't the best.

Property is well maintained with wonderful staff. Our room was bigger than in many hotels we’ve stayed. It was nice to have a kitchen that we used to prepare a quick lunch on our break from the beach. My favorite part was the balcony with beautiful views and pine trees on each side as a natural shade from the sun. Huge thank you to Zeljka, Katerina, Dimitris, and many other wonderful people that made our experience so special. We hope to come back one day.

The hotel complex is laid out like a village, with a central “clock tower” as a main feature. The staff are friendly and welcoming. Breakfast at the restaurant is convenient, and the small gym, kids’ club, beach, and pools are easy to access. Daily short room service (emptying bins, a quick wipe, and changing bedsheets) is also a helpful addition.

On the less positive side, the apartments (apart from the fairly recently renovated bathrooms) have clearly seen their best days, probably back in the 1990s. They are poorly soundproofed — you can hear everything happening above, below, and outside. The windows and balcony doors didn’t close properly, and the kitchen was poorly equipped; we had to improvise with what was available when cooking. The sofa bed mattress in the living room was very hard, and you could feel every spring. It was also quite cold at night in late April, and the floor-level shower was badly designed — without a proper slope, so the bathroom flooded every time we used it.The staff did their best to help with these issues, but often didn’t have the necessary materials (for example, they had no spare blankets, couldn’t fix the bathroom, or offer alternative mattresses).Overall, the hotel feels like it’s managed to maximize profit rather than guest comfort, and it leaves you wondering how much longer they can continue raising prices before it becomes unacceptable.

Candia Park Village is a beautiful development set in a bay close to the pretty town of Agios Nikolaos. We rented a family apartment, which had a kitchen/living room, a spatious bedroom and modern bathroom. The breakfast and dinner buffet were of a very high standard. We enjoyed the pool and even tried scuba diving at the private beach, which was amazing. The staff were always polite and helpful. As it is a family hotel, there are mostly families with small kids, so the place is lively in the mornings but quiet in the evening, which we appreciated. The kids club had many activities on offer. For older kids (12+), there is the pool, the on-site ice cream shop, and the gym.

Our family apartment only had one bedroom (which we knew when booking), so two of us slept on sofa beds in the living room/kitchen. These were comfortable, but the living conditions for a family of four were a bit cramped for the length of our stay. The outdoor space compensated for this.

    Beach, Greenery, Pools

Key and amenities are not modern/convenient

    9ChristopherPosted on: 11-5-2024

Really nice resort layout, excellent beach

A few activities for kids that were planned had been cancelled, seemingly because it was the last week of the season, but this was not communicated in advance (such as bubble, magic shows)

    9DaphniPosted on: 10-31-2024

The place, beach and over all ambience was amazing

Too expensive for the value you’re getting especially with the food. Wish there was more kids activities and facilities outside of the kids room

    7OttoPosted on: 10-27-2024

I liked the way its designed as a small little village. Rooms basic but very practical. The kids club is great with wondeful staff.

Limited lunch and dinner options apart from the buffet.

It's beautifully located, surrounded by lots of greenery and flowers. There are beautiful views over the Mirabello Bay and the sea is crystal clear.Pretty view from balcony (room 524) with lots of flowers.

I honestly don't know where to start. We expected a completely different level of comfort, luxury and serenity. The pictures and information on their website create different expectations than what they deliver. First of all, this is without a doubt a KIDS PARK. We have no problem whatsoever with children, but in this park, you cannot escape the yelling, screaming and crying of children. Yes, the website says it's children/family friendly, but we didn't know that that is code for "we don't expect parents to keep the volume of their families down".Apartment general impression:Very spacious for two people, but very basic. Don't expect any luxury or comfort. Not enough furniture to put your stuff down. No suitcase racks. Many dirty, red coloured stains on the walls and on the curtains. The doors and kitchen cabinets had many finger (grease) stains. The outside shutter doors in the living room couldn't fully close because the terrace floor was not even.Bedroom:Mattresses too soft, no support. Sheets uncomfortable. No outside shutters on windows, you'll have to sleep with the AC on to acquire some sort of 'fresh' air in the room.Kitchen area:No towels for hands or your dishes. No hand soap. No basic cooking items. Cutlery and crockery is limited and needed to be cleaned.Balcony/terrace:Very spacious. There is a small laundry rack on one of the walls. Furniture will do. No lounging chairs. No proper shade.Noise:Apartment walls are super thin, you hear everything from every surrounding apartment. You're exposed to loud talking of adults, yelling, screaming and whining of children.Breakfast:Breakfast hall is very large, feels overwhelming and unpersonal. Children touching things at the buffet. The whole experience grossed me out.Food:Don't expect a real Greek experience. They try to sell it like this, but it really isn't authentic. You will be a lot better off in the surrounding area.

Property, location, facilities, staff, food, Greek nights. We didn’t leave during our whole stay

    9YaelPosted on: 10-19-2024

Beutiful relaxing place. Well maintained. Children friendly and good vibes. Nice staff.

Just small little things. Coffee machine, tea bags and sugar would be nice to have in the roomIn general, I enjoyed so much that nothing really bothered me
