    Pros +

    • It was a beautiful place very large. It had a homey feeling from the 1970s. I love that we could walk into the sea with a sandy bottom and it was lovely to swim.
    • hard to believe this hotel is part of the Leading Hotels of the World
    • The sea was perfect! The beach and beach bar were great, and the staff was very polite. Both the breakfast and dinner buffets had everything we expected. The room was comfortable and had everything we needed. When we first arrived, we were pleasantly surprised with a complimentary bottle of wine, which was a lovely gesture. There were instant coffees available, but we requested an espresso machine, and it was brought to us immediately.

    Cons -

    • I love the property. The village near it was so so but I could’ve used a few more days there. It was very relaxing.
    • 2 Stars – Disappointing Stay at Elounda Bay PalaceMy reservation was for a room in the main building, but upon arrival, I was placed in another one entirely. The so-called “soundproof” room let in every noise from the elevator and screaming children in the hallway. The promised ocean view turned out to be of the pool and a palm tree. The room reeked of heavy perfume sticks trying to cover up a clear mildew smell coming from the bathroom, where the shower also leaked water across the floor. The entire resort feels dated—both the rooms and the common areas have definitely seen better days. The buffet breakfast was subpar and felt more like a midrange hotel than a luxury resort. To their credit, the staff was kind and arranged for me to move to their sister property after one night, which was somewhat better. Still, it’s hard to believe this hotel is part of the Leading Hotels of the World.
    • The hotel’s restaurants were a bit pricey compared to the local options outside, and it felt inconvenient to have to pay extra for even soft drinks at dinner.

    Beach, breakfast, staff service.

There was a leak in the toilet and it wasn't fixed although the staff said they fixed it.

The quiet and unhurried atmosphere in beautiful surroundings. The beach was clean and well looked after and just a few metres from our room. Finding a lounger and umbrella on the beach was never a problem. Breakfast was a perfect start to the day and Dinner a perfect end. Both were varied and always ample choice and well presented.

We enjoyed it just as it was.......!

The location is absolutely fantastic - beautiful private sandy beach, two big swimming pools that we used (there was another one but we didn't use it). We had a suite with balcony which had the most fabulous views. Lovely big bathroom with jacuzzi bath, separate lounge and sofas. The breakfast and dinner choices were good (lovely fresh fruit and breads, salads, meats and fish and a plethora of deserts of every kind). Big terrace to enjoy the views and the little restaurant that was open for lunch was absolutely wonderful with fabulous Greek dishes and charming staff. In fact the staff across the board were amazing and simply could not do enough for you. I would especially mention the waitress Maria in the main restaurant and the pool attendant Maria, who was so attentive and made the best bloody mary's ever! We were also made very welcome when we arrived and taken to the room and found the concierge staff very helpful, polite and easy to talk to. Even the cleaners were polite and friendly. Great team at this hotel.

The sunbeds were tired and the mattresses need replacing. The sail bar, whilst a great location and amazing staff has very unusual and uncomfortable sofas and we didn't spend as much time in there as we would have liked. The a la carte dinner restaurant on the end of the pier was disappointing. It was expensive and the food was nowhere near as nice as the little lunchtime restaurant. We only went once, which was a shame as the location was fantastic. Finally, we struggled most days to get coffee pods and water brought to the room - which was a bit of a niggle but did not spoil things for us and was better the last couple of days.

The bedrooms were great. The view was beautiful and the grounds were very well kept. The pool was immaculate. All breakfasts were incredible with a wide variety.

A little difficulty getting around with the directions. They should have more signs.

One of the best hotels we’ve ever stayed at. Beautiful green surroundings, a nice sandy beach for kids, clear sea, very varied food for breakfast and dinner, and friendly, welcoming staff. Thank you very much for the wonderful stay, and thanks for upgrading our room. We will definitely come back. It’s a great pleasure to fall asleep to the sound of the sea waves

Consistently friendly service. Good location. Access to all the facilities of the neighbouring sister hotel Elounda Beach is a big plus.

Really not much. The staff at the daily buffet breakfast were sometimes a bit stretched.

    10CharikliaPosted on: 8-17-2024

The location, beach, gardens of the hotel exceed anyone’s expectations! A little paradise!

It could use a bit of renovation. Gym is very old fashioned with tv from the 90s! Also all the furniture of the common areas are very old fashioned.

    7CoffeyPosted on: 8-15-2024

The staff were very friendly and super helpful and could solve any issues that arose. The rooms were clean and tidy. The beach facility was great and have the sea and pools beside each other was a bonus.

The WiFi signal was terrible throught the hotel and beach area. Very Patchy and kept dropping and freezing. Only good signal was in the bathroom. The bar food was very expensive, 22 euros for a club sandwich and some chips.

    9YingyiPosted on: 8-4-2024

Private beach; conveniency; friendly staff; variety of food at the buffet; more beach beds at the beach and seats in restaurants that we don’t feel the need to rush or feel packed

A la carte restaurants are overpriced

    8CarolinaPosted on: 7-30-2024

The property is a little bit dated, but it has everything you need for a family vacation: great swimming pools, great beach and good food. Elounda is a nice town and has other beautiful areas in proximity.

I’ve stayed in a Bungalow and it definitely could use a refresh. Everything was working but it felt like a 70’s facility.
