    Pros +

    • Location

    Cons -

    • Bathrooms a tad small
    • Parking was full, we used the public parking nearby for $15 which was convenient. i think there should be coffee pod machines in the room rather than instant coffee
    • As I said above, the mattress was a bit hard for me and polyester duvets/quilts are simply not good. They don't breathe and are far too hot for summertime. I wish the A/C-heating thermostats were a bit more user-friendly. And it wouldn't hurt if the breakfast bar added one or two more kinds of cereal and maybe waffles, plus pretzels or other Laugengebäck to their repertoire. When you're in Swabian, you expect pretzels and pretzel rolls! The other lack is closet space and drawers for small items, the closet is narrow for 2 people and there are no drawers to speak of, making it hard to put away underwear, T-shirts etc. when you're staying for 5 nights. I ended up using my packing folders and net bag as auxiliary storage, which meant having to retrieve them from the top of my suitcase every morning to make my clothing selections. But all these are small-ish problems.

The Holiday Inn Express Heilbronn is located right in the center of the city. You can walk to historic sites, shopping and restaurants in minutes. Driving to the parking garage is a bit tricky as you need to enter from the Allee via Kilianstrasse, then make a tight left turn onto Klarastrasse through a pedestrian zone to the garage entrance on the left. But once you've done it, you know how it works. The hotel's underground parking garage (15 Euros a day, very reasonable for city parking) has a limited number of spaces. It pays to get there early in the day and secure a parking pass for the duration of your stay, which we did. But if the hotel parking fills up, you can park in the public parking garage right across the street. The hotel parking garage also has two EV charging stations, so we were able to recharge our hybrid car every day, which really cut down on gasoline usage. The rooms are relatively small but quiet. Our main need was air conditioning, which is provided, though the thermostats are a bit hard to figure out and you won't get the blast of cold US A/C gives. Nonetheless, our room was a cool oasis on unusually hot late June days. The walk-in shower was amply sized. There's somewhat of a lack of counter space around the sink but I simply moved my skin care stuff onto a sill in our room. Wifi was reliable. The twin bed mattresses were great for my husband but a bit hard for me. I solved this problem by taking the duvet out of the duvet cover and putting it under the bottom sheet, then using only the duvet cover as a blanket. As the duvet was made of polyester (not a good thing, it doesn't breathe), it provided some warmth from below so I was very comfortable.Breakfast is standard, but there's plenty of it and the coffee machines offer a wide variety of breakfast drinks. The staff were pleasant and competent and there's a bar serving drinks and snacks in the air-conditioned lobby.

As I said above, the mattress was a bit hard for me and polyester duvets/quilts are simply not good. They don't breathe and are far too hot for summertime. I wish the A/C-heating thermostats were a bit more user-friendly. I arrived at Hotel late time, but they opened the bar in ground floor and served me nice beer.

It was difficult to find parking area. But the reception staff guided me kindly.

Everything is fine with this hotel - compared with its price. We like the clean room, location, excellent bedding, and helpful staff. Thanks for everything.

More variety for breakfast is needed with meat, ham, bacon, and sausage. But the current ones were good. ( But its good if you can take some other type of foods too )

Very nice location - easy to access by car and there are places for small walk in the evening too.The staff was super nice and helpful - both evening and morning shift, enjoyed their openness and readiness to help. The room very clean, very cozy, especially liked the light - it was not just light, it was light decoration on the walls. Light is bright even for reading, but at the same time it’s possible to put less for cosy evening. Will gladly come back again.

Hotel looks fresh and new. Like in most Holiday Inn hotels you get good value for the money you pay (89 euro per night) and expected good level of services. Breakfast was also pretty good and kind of similar to other hotels of the chain, but a little less diverse. Yet tasty and enough to fuel your morning and enjoy. The location is perfect. Right in the city center. Next to the market square and almost all one may want to see in the city. Many shops and restaurants around. There’s a parking in the hotel, which is great. Unfortunately it was fully occupied then. But there is another covered parking right in front of the hotel, which belongs to the shopping mall. It was like 19 euro per night. You can also stay near the hotel door for 30 min free of charge with a parking disk to unpack your luggage. The personnel was very nice and welcoming. I really enjoyed my stay.

There was a slight weird not-fresh smell in the room, but nothing critical. I also found a cig end stuck at the bottom of the window door, so someone might have smoked inside. It didn’t smell like that though. Would be also good to be able to book a parking spot, which is currently impossible.

Very clean, with friendly staff. The hotel is located in the city center, and all the attractions are just a few minutes' walk away. The breakfast is European - delicious and varied. The parking is covered, in a building across the street.

The hotel and the room itself was very modern and pleasant. The room´s interior was very nice, great play of colors and very nice smell (which is not always a matter of course). When I will be travelling along, I definitely book it again!
