Location is good

Loud AC directly outside, so it was impossible to open the window, Rooms a bit old - not maintained probably. Breakfast average.

Unfortunately the restaurant is closed on Sunday, but we got good advice about where to eat instead

The staff was superb. Friendly, helpful and professional. The beds were comfortable and our room had a refrigerated minibar with beverages and light snacks. The view from the hilltop was amazing. There was a restaurant on the premises.and.guests could book a table at reception.

No air conditioning.. No non meat dinner menu items.

Curtain covered barely 50% of window, so bright daylight in the room starting at sunrise (5:30).

My wife and I stayed at this lovely hotel for four nights in September 2024. We arrived early but the hotel was able to accommodate us immediately. We found our room to be nicely furnished, with a built-in closet and shelf space, a corner sofa with a table and tablecloth, a mini-bar, small LED TV, and a queen-sized bed with separate mattresses. There is plenty of lighting and just enough electrical outlets. The bathroom is modern with a heated towel rack. There is a radiator hidden behind the sofa and a knob to control the heating level. There’s even a balcony and a door to let in the cool night air. There is a great view of modern Würzburg below.The restaurant serves breakfast and dinner. The wait staff is very attentive, friendly and helpful. The food was always good each night and prices are reasonable. The vanilla ice cream is the best we have ever tasted, anywhere. We found the level of service to be extraordinary; the restaurant was fully booked on a Saturday night, but the wait staff took our order and delivered our dinner to our room despite being extremely busy. The breakfast buffet is one of the best we’ve had in Germany, with scrambled eggs, bacon and sausage, deli meats and cheeses, lox and horseradish, several types of cereal with add-ons like flax and nuts, yogurts, luscious carved melons, and a variety of bread. For the high level of service we received and the quality of the restaurant food and beverages, we thought the Hotel Wittelsbacher Höh was an excellent value.

The hotel can become crowded on the weekends, so it’s a good idea to book dinner reservations early. Parking can become scarce, however there is an option to park for free in a reserved lot about 200 meters up the hill from the hotel. If you park in the lot on the hotel grounds, there is a small daily parking fee.

We had the best room in the hotel - the one with the double balcony - and the facilities and views were fantastic! The staff were friendly and helpful, the bed was comfortable, and everything was spotlessly clean. We loved sitting on the balcony enjoying the view of the castle with a coffee - would definitely go back for that!Excellent breakfast selection; we ate evening meal in the hotel restaurant and that was delicious too.

The room was above the hotel reception and the area where people seemed to go out to smoke, so was a little loud at times (eg deliveries first thing in the morning) and we got the smoke when out on the balcony, but all good apart from that.

For us the location a little way out of town wasn't an issue but for some people it might be. There is an aircon unit in the room we had, a little noisy and it's position meant it didn't cool the whole room very effectively but did blow full tilt onto one side of the bed.

The view was great.

My German friends were with me when I checked in. They spoke inGetman and told me breakfast was included. When I checked out they charged me for breakfast. When I complained tmthe woman receptionist told me to look at my receipt. I would have had to pay for breakfast anyway but my friends had told me about all these wonderful places to go for breakfast. I was more disappointed in not getting to try them and wouldn't have cared about the money but having eaten could not eat again.next time a different hotel.
