Hotel Alter Kranen

Location was excellent, just next to the bridge. We had a superb river and castle view. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Breakfast, even though it was for an extra charge, was just excellent.

I don't really have anything to complain about.

Good location, but the hotel entrance is on the ally behind where google maps says it is so if you are driving and want to drop off your luggage you drive past the hotel and take the first alley behind to get to the entrance

I found it strange that we had to walk through the dining area to get to our room.

Great.View of the river,good size room,breakfast was great,so many Choices. Hotel was central to everything. Good to venture out at night to the centre,an absolute hive of activity with places selling drink and food,it’s a must

The front of the hotel completely puts you off,down a side street with no parking,but once in your room it’s lovely. Fortunately I asked for river view.dread to think what a horrible out look you would get on the opposite side tho. Parking is underground opposite car park can work out expensive and should be free for hotel guests

The best location in the town. A few minutes walk to the center. Amazing river view. Very kind and helpful staff at the reception.

Location.....location....location.....right on the water, big windows for amazing view of the fortress on the hill...super easy walk to the historic bridge and the old town center...winefest on the bridge....room decor with the light wood was very welcoming....comfortable bed....highly recommend walking across the bridge and up to the fortress to look down over the town...breakfast room nicely decorated and excellent views across the river....very good selection of fresh and artfully presented breakfast

Check in with the outside box system was very efficient and easy but missed the human interaction...we did not see anyone working at the property until the next morning for breakfast.

Good location and close to all the attractions.

No parking in the property but a garage is close by.

Noise of water in the walls all night long. I should have asked for a different room. It seemed it was heating system. Very noisy and hard to sleep.

Everything was really good. Especially the location, personnel and check in procedure. My train was delayed for more than an hour, I worried that I will have struggles with late check-in. But hotel has smart checkin machine on the entrance, which allowed easy access. Really appreciated.

The only disadvantage were the pillows. They were not comfortable. Everything else - just perfect

The location was absolutely perfect - right next to the old bridge, and we were able to walk into the old town, restaurants etc., The hotel was immaculately clean, and the view from the breakfast room was beautiful. Breakfast was great with a wide selection of food.

The beds were a little hard, but that was no problem at all, just a bit harder than we are used to!

Super located ie in the city centre. Excellent restaurant in the neighbourhood. Quiet rooms overlooking courtyard. Possibility to store bikes. Good breakfast.

The hotel lived up to expectations, good value especially with a spectacular view of the river and Marienberg Fortress. Good location just off the river to enjoy summer evening life, short walk to altstadt, 20 mins from train station. Very good breakfast for a reasonable price.

Room smaller than expected but fine for one night however the view made up for this.

The room was a little tired and could have done with a deep clean. The sheets and bedding were clean that was nice.

The location was great and they had an awesome self check-in machine. The gentleman at the front desk when we checked out was very nice.

The room was quite small and there was a strong sewage odor. Also, the shower was very small. From an American perspective, the breakfast was not great. I suspect it is a decent European breakfast—lots of lunch meat and sliced cheese, vegetables, bread, jam. They had some scrambled eggs but they were very wet.

This hotel is in a very good location for sightseeing around the city.Parking is 16 euros per day in the public parking lot in front of the hotel.

For the first time at the hotel, I asked to pay in cash because the terminal for cards other than Germany was broken. So, I pre-paid online at Booking.com. Because of the hotel atmosphere, I did not request breakfast. I had high expectations because it was next to the Main River, but it was a room with no view of the Main River. I remember there was no refrigerator in the hotel room. Of course, there was no air conditioning. I think this hotel has the advantage of being located in the center of the city with lots to see.Another advantage is that the hotel is close to a public parking lot.
