    Cons -

    • 1- Location is horrible 2- this is not a 4 star hotel. 3 start at the best. 3- The room was tiny.
    • Further from Frankfurt than I thought it was. Just be ready for $75 taxi.
    • Restaurant closed at 8pm. I believe this was a Sunday only thing.

Historic site and beautiful grounds. I was first there as a guest of a wedding party. I came back as a convenience in my travels. Both times were enjoyable.

A quiet and historic place that allows you to experience the past in a peaceful setting. Great restaurant, very interesting museum and plenty of paths in the beautiful woods for long walks.

Restaurant closed at 8pm. I believe this was a Sunday only thing.

We loked the location. Lots of birds singing around the place.

The double rooms in the "Zeughaus" are quite small. But the worst aspect was that the rooms are overheated, impossible to turn the heating down. We complained several times (we had booked a total of four rooms) but to no effect.

Great location with great facilities and an excellent restaurant. If you see a quiet location/room you will not be disappointed. Very imposing structure. In summertime it must be fantastic in the outdoors in the garden.

Not far away from the bigger city but the long traffic line converts a short trip to a very slow and tedious one. The main hotel exit is problematic for cars wanting to drive towards Darmstadt, in the morning rush. Correspondingly the price is a bit too high.

Location, style, interior inside and landscape design outside, restaurant.

    The look

The inferior and impersonal service except for PierreNo coffee in the rooms

Very comfortable and clean with beautiful grounds. Perfect relaxing location after a long international flight...close to city but rural setting. Breakfast was wonderful. Overall great place to start our trip.

    2EnesPosted on: 8-19-2024

View and lake next to the hotel is very good.

There was no air conditioner in rooms and the distance between reception and my room is very far away. ( took 10 min walk approx).

Nice rooms on a historic location. Very friendly staff.

I missed that the room has no A/C which would have been very welcome at the time of travel.

    7MichaelPosted on: 8-7-2024

    Restaurant and staff Realty good

The room were without aircon and it was really hot inside the room and the fan that is placed in the room is not enough.

    10KarenPosted on: 8-2-2024

The hotel is in beautiful surroundings. The room was large with a bath and a shower. Breakfast had everything anyone could have wanted. We ate at the hotel in the evening and that was also fabulous. Every member of staff was really friendly and helpful.

Air con (though a good fan was provided) and drawers.

    7MarkPosted on: 7-21-2024

Historic and convenient for Darmstadt. Bistro food good

Our accommodation was in the annex. Quite a distance from main hotel. Restaurant was closedRoom was quite small. No aircon.

Always wonderful! We have been coming for years, for work and to relax too, and certainly plan to come back again soon. Excellent staff, lovely paths to walk or cycle around, easy access to Darmstadt too. We had two separate bookings, one for the Junior Suite in the Annex and one for a Classic Double in the main building over a five-day period, with our booking for the Suite done through their own site. Sadly, we missed the wonderful Diana suite, as it was already booked.

It's perfect. Just a kind suggestion to consider air-conditioning units; it would help when it gets very hot and humid, particularly in the Annex -there are now stand-alone units that do the job perfectly well and can be carried rather than fixed on the walls of this very old and wonderful building- or some sort of netting to at least allow the windows to stay open without risking a wasp coming in at night -this happens quite a lot- for those with allergies...

Travelling for a corporate event cannot hope for a better place surrounded by a forest and just a couple of km from Darmstadt centre

A bit dark in the parking lot, and in case of rain (as it was when I arrived) walking from the car to the rooms can results rather muddy.

    10HopePosted on: 5-4-2024

The location was good. We were visiting the nearby rail museum and were also 30 minutes from the Frankfurt Airport where we were flying out the next morning. Historical nature of the property and buildings was interesting. Grounds were very nice for walking. Dinner was excellent

    9KlausPosted on: 5-1-2024

Location was nice. Parking free. Nice park

I was there in the spring. I dont know how the temperatures will be in the rooms in the summer with no aircon

    7DanielPosted on: 3-24-2024

The Location of the hotel is great. We upgraded to be in the main house which gave us a view onto the courtyard. We choose it because of its history. The room was spacious and quiet and the beds were comfortable.

We arrived on a Sunday. We were surprised to learn the bar and restaurant was closed. We managed to get a tea which was good but expensive. The breakfast was €24 a person, which is pricey.
