PLAZA Premium Darmstadt

The lobby reminded me of an old-school Art Deco grand hotel -- absolutely gorgeous. The room was very clean!

The lobby was air conditioned, but the rooms were ALL set to heat with no way to cool the room except open the window. Also, the overnight desk agent was hanging out on the front drive when we were calling down to ask for help. Not good service.

Upon arrival, the unfriendly lady at the reception desk was unable to check us in (presumably due to technical issues). She didnt explain anything thats why we almost missed breakfast and the room was never cleaned in the 3 night stay, because apparently you have to put on a sign for it to be cleaned. The room smelled of sewage—it was coming from the bathroom. When attempting to shower, the stench was unbearable. The night was even worse—the room was right next to the railway tracks, where freight trains often ran during the night. The room was then switched to the other side; the heavily trafficked road there was at least better than the trains. The restaurant was not open for some reason, and I had to figure out how to organize food for the children. Overall, a very bad experience.

The room was spacious, spotless, and very comfortable. It made for a relaxing retreat after a long day. The buffet was another highlight: a wide variety of fresh, delicious options that catered to different tastes.

The hallways felt a bit outdated compared to the rest of the property. The gym was very small with only 3 workout equipments available and they were all a bit outdated.

The reception was very friendly and patient.The room was nice and clean same for the pool and sauna. The breakfast was amazing we loved it.and the most valuable thing that we had the chance to join a christian worship on sunday that was a blessing ??

Room with view on rail => noisy when the window is open and train is passing. Swimming pool area was not ok - too many kids jumping and making noise.

It was a good bed. Breakfast had enough choice.

Very hot in the room (no airco apparently). The room was next to the railway, which was very loud.

Very large and comfortable room. I appreciate that the room is cleaned only upon request for a more environmental sustainable approach. Gentle staff. Good options and variety for the breakfast.

Unfortunately I was in the standard room that faces the railway and I had to keep the windows closed at night to reduce the noise. But with closed window and still a winter duvet it was then too warm inside at night. So it was difficult to find a balance between noise and room temperature, hence bad sleep. I would never return to the standard rooms. If back I would go for the comfort ones that apparently is not on the railway.

Gym above average for a hotel. Nice pool and spa area.

Breakfast could have been better, for instance with real fuit juice. If you want cleaning of the room you have to put the sign outside the door by 6 A.M. I wasn't informed about that rule, so I didn't get any cleaning.

Clean and good size room. Hotel located close to the main railway station. Hotel staff both at the reception and at the bar was very kind and ready to assist.

Wi-Fi is a problem, particularly if you have some work to do requiring the use of internet. Connections is weak and keeps dropping. I moved several times from my room to the reception area where the connection is a bit better but still too weak.There is only one restaurant on site offering limited choices and there are not many restaurants around.

The rooms with odd numbers face the train track, which cause noise at night. The entrance to the hotel is dirty, big groups standing and smoking there, the staff does not react to feedback saying that „this is the place they smoke”. Uninviting. Luckily, inside the hotel is clean and nice.

I've stayed here multiple times now, for its convenience to family, train and local tram. Since one side of the hotel faces the tracks from the nearby main train station, I've learned to request a "quiet" room on the opposite side of the hotel. While not always guaranteed, you may get priority attention if you give them your BW Rewards member number. The room is consistently clean and comfy. Wifi is great. The breakfast buffet is top-notch. There is a nice bar/lounge adjacent to the lobby. The pool and gym are located on the top floor and are nice as well.

No complaints!

Quite an old hotel and you can feel it in the lobby, in the rooms, in the wellness area. The room had a weird smell of wet towels. It is a normal hotel if you don't have high expectations.
