Pros +
- Old-fashioned, elegant, gorgeous interior public rooms; excellent buffet breakfast; gracious, friendly, helpful staff; easy access to and from the main roads; quiet, comfortable rooms. I can't say enough good things about this lovely hotel and its wonderful staff.
- Good selection for breakfast, very quiet hotel- I think we were the only guests. Decor was old-school but that's fine as comfortable and traditional feel. Clean. Public rooms very impressive.
- After having been refused a bed at the place we had booked, we phoned around and eventually found a room at this hotel in the centre of town, needless to say to was way above budget and three times more expensive than what we had booked, but it was our only option Adam’s we went
Cons -
- I think we were there on the closed day for Albertville, so hotel mothballed feel. Nobody else around so no bar or restaurant- we were advised a bespoke meal would be available 'au coin', but on arrival were told restaurant was closed, which was OK as restaurants nearby.
- When we arrived there was no room available and the owner got angry when we showed our confirmed booking made 20 minutes before! Eventually the amazing receptionist ( Nathalie) arrived and calmed the situation down , as before we were not alone, there were three other couples with similar stories, one had driven from Netherlands, the owner said “ why book through booking.com they were told repeatedly we have no room, it’s better to book through us then we don’t have to pay commission…disappointing, eventually we were offered a room in their staff quarters and charged twice what they quoted originally ( but this was later corrected) we are grateful for a place to stay that night bug appalled by this practice which appears to be common place? We booked three hotels on the way all had problems - all through booking .com
- We were shown to our room on arrival by the only member of staff to find that it had not been cleaned or bed changed since last occupant. We were then kept waiting in dingy corridor while further keys were found. However all further 9 rooms we were shown had not been cleaned and we finally after 15 minutes found one that was ready. No bar personnel around to get us a drink at the bar - it took 20 minutes to find someone. We met Hotel owner later who didn’t appear to be engaged with the running of the hotel or even apologetic. We had planned to dine in hotel but decided against it as were worried having had such a bad experience so far. Great shame as it used to be a great hotel years ago.

Good location on way to Alps

Good locationcar park1 x night staff and 1 x breakfast staff did their best in difficult circumstances.
Had problems finding rooms which were made up as 9 the rooms we were shown initially were not ready for occupation. We were the only guests in the hotel.Upon arrival there was only one member of staff in the hotel and as we had booked dinner, we cancelled as he was porter/concierge/general factotum and we did not look forward to him cooking our dinner.Terribly run hotel - we met owners who were oblivious of the fact that the hotel was not running properly1 bathroom had cracked tiles and broken grouting around the bath, and an old shower curtain, giving the impression of student digs rather than a hotel. In the corridor lighting 5 out of 6 candle bulbs were not working.
We were unexpectedly forced to stay in Albertville post discharge from the (excellent) hospital. We found Hotel Million on Booking.com, the hotel was better than expected. Furthermore, local friends were pleased for us regarding our choice as it is also a well respected and liked establishment amongst their friends.
I really like the breakfast here, and the service was very enthusiastic, the room is very comfortable and the environment make me feel warm. Coming to this hotel left me with a good impression of the local area !
The cost-effectiveness is not very high, perhaps due to the peak holiday season and the good environment. I don't think this is a disadvantage
Parking on site but only about 10 spaces. Handy location in Albertville, close to all amenities.Fixed price menu at 50 euro was good value, but perhaps more fine dining than expected. Good size room excellent shower.
Service was a bit random, didn't get spoons with soup, they arrived some time later. No tea or coffee facilities in room.
staff provided an excellent buffet supper on a Sunday evening even though the kitchen was oficially closed.
Hotel Million is a a wonderful find. Set in a pretty corner of Alberville, its hosts are welcoming & friendly and ma
Excellent location. Very comfortable. Friendly staff.
Location is great
Staff seems very new and less experienced. Rooms dated long ago
Great location with good parking on site. Beds are comfortable.
Quite dated property. No hot drink making facilities in the room even when requested.Breakfast was paid for extra but was very busy and staff seemed overwhelmed. Not everything was available as a result (eg hot water for tea or cold drinking water).
Good breakfast, very helpfull staff. Not the very big choice but everything I needed.
Disappointing
Breakfest was horrible, no bread at all, super basic, no personal there… really bad
The staff were quite friendly
We spent rather a miserable New Years Eve there on our way to Val Thorens. We had the only menu available which was of a fairly high standard 104 euros per head! and the cheapest wine about 70 euro but in a fully lit restaurant with no atmosphere, a radio with talking for music, not one decoration and were in bed by 10.30pm.
Did dot have breakfast
Bathrooms and shower need upgading. Shoer head kept slipping
Very nice central location. The motorcycle could be put in the underground car park. After a long day of travel, there were surprisingly two beers in front of the room - that felt good. The high season was over, which meant there was time for nice conversations with the owner of the hotel. Otherwise, of course, an ideal location for motorcycle tours along the Route des Grandes Alpes.
I booked the room for my mum to stay. The entire decoration is very beautiful and classic while the room is quite spacious and comfortable to live. The room is perfect for a family to stay. We met the owner who was very warm and welcoming to us. The hotel is situated in town and rather convenient. My mum has a very nice stay and she finds the experience delightful. We hope to come back again in the future!
great location nice design
very poor Wi-Fi
