ibis budget Amberieu en Bugey/Chateau Gaillard

This hotel was very difficult to find, as hotel was in Chateau Gaillard not Amberieu! Please make this clear in your advert as even satnav was baffled! Also, the shower cubicle and wash basin were in the bedroom, so to call it an 'ensuite' was misleading. The enclusure for the toilet itself was extremely small, so not good for my very tall husband!

breakfast was fine, easy check in, check out, near highway no noise

bed lights were not working because of a thunderstorm a week ago....no space to leave clothes besides some hangers

The proximity to the motorway is very good, the triple bedroom were a good size. Nice and clean. Very good breakfast. Private parking so you feel safe with your car.

It is a roadside economical hotel and it met all those expectations. We needed a place to sleep and have breakfast. Its basic, clean and rooms are a good size, with parking and breakfast. It did not disappoint. It is good value for money.

Clean, simple. Breakfast is excellent value at 8 euros. Staff very welcoming and helpful.

A convenient stop adjacent to the motorway. Room was bright and clean with effective A/C unit and good shower. Staff were friendly and helpful. Standard continental buffet breakfast.

Limited facilities, with small vending machine and a kettle for making tea/coffee. Not an issue for me as it was purely for a night stop. A little tricky to find the access road, with the signs in place having faded and not being very prominent. Fine once found.

Not easy to find via Google maps. - once you come off the main road look out for signs - suspect they had to be put up as others drove past it following Google maps/sat nav.

Bread with soft cheese is ok. the selection is jam ( 40% sugar) , cake ( 25 % sugar ), frosties and chocolate chips ( 15 - 20 % sugar ) , fruitjuice from the machine ( 25% sugar ) . No eggs, no fresh fruits. This could be a problem for diabetic people.For dinner you need to take your car, next restaurant is 3.3 km away

Location close to the motorway was our main criteria and it didn't disappoint. Beds comfortable, all clean and our room was at the end of the corridor so was quiet.My daughter and I shared the room on a visit from the South to the North of France

We hadn't picked up from the photos that although the wc is in a room with a door, the shower and sink are effectively in the room. The sink unit and the angle of the shower mean it is relatively private, but it did feel a bit weird having a shower with no bathroom door.
