Chiangkhong Teak Garden Riverfront Hotel

Wonderful view, comfortable room, friendly staff

All was ok.

The value of the hotel is derived from a few points: 1) wonderful location on the river side 2) good, clean and spacious rooms, 3) great staff with professional and charming appearance 4) bike friendly (though not a typical biker only hotel, also wonderful for non bikers). Appreciated the personal appearance and support of the GM, Mr KK. The pool is great with a view of the magic river Mekong

Nothing really, maybe the few dishes in the restaurant could have tasted a bit more authentic - but that is a comment of minor importance.

Clean. Friendly staff. Great shower and bed with view. Lots of choices for breakfast.

A little pricey.

The staff was very welcoming and friendly. Very helpful at the the front desk to set up a tuk tuk for us to bring us to the border crossing in the morning. The room was nice and super clean. We enjoyed dinner on the deck overlooking the river. We visited the onsen after dinner and it was amazing. It is like a traditional onsen with a separate onsen for men and women.

The best service I’ve had at a hotel. I was welcomed by the owner and managers with free drinks and dessert. The friendliest hospitality I’ve ever had. The hotel is very beautiful with a Japanese style garden and a fabulous view of the river and mountains. The room was so comfortable and the softest bed I’ve had in southeast Asia. It was so nice and comfortable I extended my stay for another night. When my minivan didn’t pick me up, they helped me navigate transport to the bus. This place really is the definition of Thai hospitality.

Staff was lovely and helpful. Pool very nice.

Onsen was underwhelming; rooms dated. Likely not worth the premium price compared to other hotels in the area.

Cleanliness, superb service and beautiful view of Mae Khong river

The staff were amazing, nothing was too much trouble for them and I was very grateful. Also the bed was super comfortable with lovely pillows and a mattress topper.

Mosquitos in the open air dining areas. Perhaps some citronella candles.

Convenient situation overlooking Mekong with gardens and teak trees . Unusual Onsen overlooking the river a unique touch. Clean swimming pool on riverside terrace and attractive dining area.

A bit far away

Great location right on the river. Beautiful setting. Buffet breakfast was lovely.

The restaurant for dinner was a bit disappointing, huge menu but our first choice was not available.

Location is good right on the river and pedestrian walking track accessible from hotel. Restaurant menu was varied and nice to sit with views over the river.

Breakfast buffet food items were lukewarm warm at best.

The location on the river was excellent and the restaurants for dinner and breakfast were positioned beautifully by this hotel to allow guests to take in the wonderful views

Nicely appointed, large, private rooms, pool, onsen (!), beautiful view of the river, great location. Excellent cost performance.

Some facilities were closed (understandable during the off-season), breakfast wasn't as good as the rest of the hotel.

The pool and area was lovely and breakfast was excellent,

The description of room led me to believe we had a room with a pool view. In fact we had a view of the road and walkway. The room was directly under the dinning so noisy at night especially during clean up. The room was a bit dated and bathroom counter had a large crack that had been repaired.

Onsen pool too hot for me, but probably not for others

The hotel is opposite HuayXai Laos across Mekong River. The hotel is an easy access to walking/cycling path along the river. You can also rent an electric bike for Bath 50 to venture around ChiangKong, expecially along Meking River.

Very nice atmosphere in this well-designed and reasonably-priced hotel in such a stunning location.
