Pros +
- Stunning old but well kept build with traditional Italian architecture and interior decor, ornate finishing and marble statues etc. Incredible views across stunning lake Maggiore
- Great location overlooking the lake and a 8-10 minute walk from the train. The room was very large and the bed was comfortable. The view from our balcony was pretty amazing! Also, the foyer was beautifully appointed! PS...The staff is beyond gracious and nice!
- Location and spa, bed linens wonderful and room with big patio amazing. Would have liked a little more furniture in it.
Cons -
- The hotel is a bit tired in the communal areas; one sink had a large crack which is surprising given the Leading Hotel designation. That said, as we once lived in London, this felt like a Grand Estate - albeit a bit worn in some areas :)
- Gym too small and fitness class instructor not engaging and seemed not to really understand biomechanics of the body.Bathroom door in room didn't shut fully and should be fixed.
- The bigger elevator for cart was broken, but staff was very helpful with luggage.

Friendly staff, comfortable room and beautiful restaurant
It was gorgeous in great location. Staff was wonderful!
The bigger elevator for cart was broken, but staff was very helpful with luggage.
It’s a lovely grand hotel at the lake with old world charm. Location is perfect. Concierge were excellent, helpful and friendly. The room was huge and comfortable. The pool and sauna.
The restaurant was lovely but the menu was very limited in between meal times.
I like the spacious suite and that it has two toilets. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The staff were very nice and welcoming. The location is near the lake so I enjoyed the walk around the city and explored Zürich differently this time.
The building is old but very clean however some pieces of furnitures need to be replaced. The A/C didn’t work well in my suite and they offered me a fan.
The Building and the location
Service non existent out of luck of staff. They do not deserve to be part of “ Leading hotels of the World” !I arrived very sick after a long flight. I had asked the staff to help with medication pick up from the pharmacy- their answer; you have to wait for around three hours- we are understaffed.I have asked the chef, Morgan Genel for a soup explaining how sick I was.His answer was - he could not offer me a soup as he was “ understaffed “.You can die in this hotel they really do not care of their guests circumstances.Dear hotel manager, please shut down this place until you are staffed enough to treat your clients with respect and offer us the price we pay for.Or offer us a discounted “ understaffed “ price .
A regal historical feel - the spa
Parking expensive and not many places
Location and the view from.hotel. very convenient, staff were very good.Sauna hammam and pool were brilliant, including cold bath buckets, especially after a long hike. Highly recommend the breakfast.view from the room of the snow-capped mountains was fabulous.
Bottled still water should be more regulary replaced but I specifically didn't ask for it. There was nothing specifically I didn't like and enjoyed my stay.
The location was excellent with a beautiful walking path in front and a gorgeous view of the lake!! Great restaurants nearby! Breakfast was very good as well. Highly recommend this hotel and spa. The pool was a nice bonus!
I wish they had bikes on site for rental or use.
Room and hotel was super nice.
Spa wasnt that good, jacuzzi is cold and not so many places to lie down. Otherwise all top notch
Bad
The staff was not there to welcome us The room once we arrived was not readyThe cleaning was not doneThe bath tub was not workingThey promised a refund but never got back to usThey avoided all calls and emails
The staff was nice. The hotel is well located. The hotel hasn't been updated in a while, but it was clean and still decently nice.
I paid for a lake view room, and the lake was visible from the room only if you got really close to the windows and looks at a very sharp angle. The lake was not visible from the room from any other angle, so basically we could not see the lake. This is quite disappointing that they charge for this.
We loved the view could not stop looking out our windows and sitting on the balcony overlooking lake Geneva
Unfortunately the steam was not working in the spa and the jacuzzi was just Luke warm . So even though the spa looked great and the massages were good the facilities needed to be better
we had room service breakfast ...brilliant. Everything was just lovely. So helpful. Free travel card and discounts to attractions. Lovely position almost on the lake. Staff delighful. The most amazing suite with two of everything, two TVs, two sinks, two rooms, two toilets, two double wardrobes, two sofas, two tables, two balconies and even two big proper keys, with those old fashioned tassles. Old lovely hotel with new ideas. so good, so good, so good!
we loved everything, except for the price of everything. If really picky a direct entrance/exit to the lakeside would have been nice
Stunning location. Superb restaurant with terrace overlooking the lake. Leisure facilities fantastic.
Restaurant fully booked in evening - would have been good to try the evening menu.
We had a lake view room with a little balcony, the room was lovely, spacious and a very comfy bed. I was concerned about noise as we overlooked a bar, but we were not bothered. We travelled with our dog and the hotel was very welcoming, and generally the staff were very helpful and professional. We ate at the Japanese restaurant and the food was excellent, the best Japanese we have had in a while. They were very accommodating; we wanted different tasting menus as I wanted fewer courses, and they were fine with that. Often you will find that the whole table has to order the same menu. Overall it was a lovely one night stay-albeit terrible weather!
This is not a criticism of the hotel, but having never been to Vevey before I did not appreciate that there is a busy lake side promenade running in front of the hotel. I had envisaged that we would be able to walk off the hotel terrace directly to the lake for some private access but actually its not possible to access the lake directly from the hotel. Also, given how busy the promenade is; the hotel has some dense bushes and plants to allow some privacy when sitting on the hotel terrace. But this means that you cant see the lake, which is a shame. But no reason not to choose this hotel, we didnt see any hotels that had direct access.
We loved our room with an extra large bathroom and walk in closet. The double doors opening onto the balcony overlooking Lake Geneva was a real highlight. The location was very convenient as well. We would love to return for another stay and enjoy more time in the great spa facilities !
The hot tub jets were amazing and the size of the tub exceptional but the temperature could have been hotter ;) There could have been additional towels available near the sauna as well. A no talking sign in the area would be helpful as well as a pair of ladies were speaking in the steam room and didn't appear to be familiar with usual spa etiquette.
Pool, breakfast, helpful and polite staff, vibe, room service, room facilities, car vallet, location, vibe. All AMAZING
