About

Built in 1764, the Petit Manoir is a luxurious, boutique-style hotel in a French garden in Morges, combining the charm of the past with up-to-date facilities and a spa area. The banks of Lake Geneva are only 984 feet away. After entering the Petit Manoir, you will find yourself in the cozy boudoir/library with a fireplace. Each guest room is named after a famous composer and features antique-style furniture. From the first floor, a magnificent wrought-iron staircase gives access to the garden. Wireless internet access is available in all rooms free of charge. The wine cellar forms the heart of the house, where the region's growers frequently arrange convivial wine tastings. This meeting place gives both wine lovers and novices an opportunity to discover the region's different grape varieties. The new spa area offers a sauna, fitness room and a pool. Access to the Spa will be by reservation and will be at an additional cost.

    Pros +

    • The self-checking after hours was well explained with clear instructions.
    • Location: next to the lake, big parking just in front. Reception is very friendly.
    • Beautiful room, modern and very large balcony with parking on site and a good restaurant. In walking distance from Morges.

    Cons -

    • The room was small, under the roof, no elevator, had to carry luggage up...., partially facing Route de Geneve, which has quite a substantial traffic from about 5:30 AM. The window was not soundproof even when closed and locked; an old-style window, with a latch, not triple-glazed, with a period wooden frame (it certainly could have been properly restored/refurbished visually to match the property epoch, with the modern soundproofing technology...). Was not able to sleep properly from 5:30 AM, when asked to extend the check out time by + 2 hours to get at least some rest (hotel apparently was not full at that time (2nd week of January) - was quoted the extra fee for the late check-out. Was not possible to sleep or stay in the room either way - too much noise from the street traffic. For the establishment with this number of stars, the accommodation was not at the level expected.
    • Value for money is average.
    • Shower in the bath is dangerous due to the shape of the bath, easy to slip and fall….

Beautiful location in nice gardens.Breakfast was very nice.My room was immaculate, large and the terrace was beautiful. The heated towel rail in the bathroom was a lovely touch. The staff were helpful and friendly.

The air conditioning was especially good as the temperature was >30°C.Lovely big room with bath and separate shower. This is our second stay here and we will come back!

Nothing, could be expensive but we got quite a good rate

The room was huge with a massive balcony overseeing the hotel's inner yard. It was quiet and cozy. The room was exceptionally clean and the bed was very comfortable.

The location was excellent, very close to the lake and the train station. The main road in front of the hotel was not heard at all thanks to the soundproof windows. The rooms were beautifully furnished and well-equipped. The staff was super friendly. My friend stayed in the main house and I was placed in the guest house next door. Both rooms were extraordinary! There is also a bus stop in front of the hotel and the fortress/castle is around the corner.Château Vullierens is not far from there and we enjoyed visiting the Jan Michalski foundation in Montricher. Morges is an excellent place for such excursions - always with a view to the Mont Blanc!

I actually liked the feeling of being in a little "manoir". The location is practical since it's just in front of the lake, close to the highway and at the entrance of Morges town. They have a small backyard that seems very enjoyable on sunny days.

I felt that the staff was a bit cold, especially the receptionist. There is a bar at the ground floor, but no one was serving there, I felt a bit awkward. The receptionist had to ask the service staff that was at the upper-floor, in the restaurant, to serve my drinks. The room was too heated, and the AC was on when I arrived. Being in winter, you think of the environmental impact...

Lovely structure, beautiful rooms and nice and friendly service

The SPA was inaccessible as it had to be booked in advance and at a fee! Not at all clear to me when I booked

The renovated old building is very well, tasteful and stylish decorated, specially the restaurant; there is a beautiful garden that I unfortunately couldn’t enjoy, because it was reserved for a local event over the weekend. The room was small but comfortable, the staff extremely nice. I only would criticize the prices.

For the prices charged to stay, I would at least give access to the indoor swimming pool, without the rest of the spa.

A well maintained property and very clean and comfortable. We did not have a reservation for dinner on our first nights stay and the restaurant was fully booked. They did manage to find us a table and we had a lovely meal.

The restaurant was closed on 2 nights of our stay so we had to eat in town. On one of these nights when we returned to the hotel there was no sign of any staff in the bar. However after phoning reception (notice on reception) we were able to have a glass of wine or beer and soft drinks but no spirits or cocktails.

    Staff were nice.

Breakfast wasn’t great. Extra charges to use the pool/spa. Not a great location - on a main road.Room was too close to the restaurant - noisy.

Cute and cosy, great attention to details.

Staff was felt very dismissive when it wasn’t exactly their area of responsibility. Eg the man behind the reception seemed completely uncapable of checking if there was availability in the restaurant. Or the waiter could not greet us at the restaurant, we had to wait for his “manager” to say good evening. So a little odd.

Rare to find in room a/c, so it was wonderful to have this! A few days during my stay were a bit warm and sticky, so to sleep in dry, cool air was glorious! My room was neat, nice shower amenities, and very, very quiet. Just a few dust bunnies on the ceilings. Breakfast was superb, and dinners I thought were Michelin star level - very, very good!

Since I do like my a/c, not having it in the dining area was a negative on some of the warmer days.

Beautiful property with amazing staff . They even bring you to your room . Kind of nice to see instead of just being giving a card and being sent on your way.

Parking and dogs were expensive. Our dogs are tidy and don’t get into trouble . Added 100$ a night for dogs and parking . A little crazy

Beautiful little bijou hotel, very quiet in the evening though on a main road. Small room, but super comfortable bed and space enough for everything. Modern clean bathroom. The lobby and bar/restaurant/terrace area also looked smart and welcoming but we didn't eat there as were visiting family in the town

    Nothing, it was perfect ?
