Parkhotel Gunten Lake & Spa

Beautiful views of Lake Thun, very easy to get there, right off of the bus line. Staff was polite and helpful, and the rooms were very nice. We loved our time there.

The location ?The view from my room was absolutely amazing ?The breakfast was nice ?They provide you with a ticket for local travel on the buses, which I put to good use ?

The Manager (I think he was anyway) in the restaurant, was quite rude when seating me at the table for dinner and the next day when I was ordering a coffee. He knew I couldn't speak German, however he continued to rant impatiently at me anyway.The prices for dinner were very expensive - and I was even charged 2.50chf for the smallest glass of tap water.It also appeared to me that the locals were prioritised over hotel guests? As in where they sat and the service they received.There was no atmosphere at the hotel while I was there and I was unable to get an appointment for any beauty treatments.

The view is world-class

Everything was great. More funny than annoying, but the bartenders seemed stumped on every drink order - even when I ordered the "Parkhotel Favorite" off the menu. I ordered that three times (to make it easy on them) and received two different drinks. All drink orders were a basically a surprise. ;)

Everything clean comfy quiet just perfect

Everything was just perfect from the very first minute. Rooms extremely clean. Towel change every day, friendly staff and wonderful view from the back of the hotel. Will return for sure! ?

Location of the hotel on the lake with the Mountain View’s was amazing Spa was separate to the hotel in a ‘boathouse’ which was unique to any other visited

Everything was excellent to the smallest detail. I wish we had more time to spend here. Room didn't have the lake view but apart from that everything else was perfect. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Spa is great with view of the lake.Own free car park is a big plus as well.

The lakeside location and view and garden areas are all wonderful. Interior of the hotel is also nice overall.The room was small but serviceable. Front desk staff were attentive overall.

Strangely, when I arrived I was told I had a double booking - one through booking.com and one through the hotel. While I don't recall making a booking with the hotel directly, and the hotel didn't bother to explore the reason or inform me in advance. Had they done so the error could have been quickly and timely corrected. As a result, I had to pay for one extra night. The experience left a sour taste in my mouth.There was no way to get coffee in the morning before the breakfast buffet opened at 7:30am. Would have been nice to have either a side board for coffee and tea available at all times, or at least something in the rooms for folks to make their own.Also, the restaurant in the hotel required hotel guests to wait until 8pm to have dinner there so they could give preference to outside guests, even though the restaurant wasn't full. I did not like having to eat so late, and as a hotel guest, I felt treated as second-class. There was only one other restaurant within a mile or two radius that was open after 6pm, and as I did not have a car my options were limited. On top of that, the restaurant was expensive and the service by the staff was mediocre.

Location, location Location.... Hotel has beautiful views and was so so so stunning. If you are looking for a hotel with stunning views then this is the place for you.

We were 2 families with 4 hotel rooms. It was so silly that the hotel staff didn't think of allocating our rooms on the same floor. We were with 3 kids and were given rooms on 2, 3 and 4 th floor seriously? Staff was not helpful in trying to sort this for us. A smile answer was sorry we are full. I think they need to think before allocating room in such manner especially for people with kids. It was such a hastle for us with luagge and moving between different rooms on different floors for 3 days.Also there was no kettle or coffee/tea provided in rooms.

The hotel is very beautiful and the terrace and gardens are wonderful , situated right on the lake.Breakfast is exceptional and staff are here to help.the room was comfortable and I had a great view of the lake.The restaurant is exceptional.

The SPA only had sauna available, the jacuzi didn't work (or wasn't open).There were no kettle in the rooms.

Shower doors didn’t close tightly and water got all over the floor, making the floor slippery and the mat was not adequate. No ac. Thank goodness for the fan

The unwelcoming factor of the management. Uncaring, thoughtlessness, and most of all, no respect for the needs of the guest.The front desk manager was beyond helpless.If you don' thave a reservation, go to the pizza restaurant around the corner. This is what was stated to me when I inquired about their restaurants. There was a young man named Alec . Kind and caring allowed me to have a table to eat. I didn't have a reservation. But he said I will get you one!Yes, in all fairness, when miscommunication occurs it does take two sides.. The manager stated miscommunication was only on my part,that it's impossible for her staff who runs the front desk,which seemed to speak English didn't give me the correct information for their wellness program..it was 100 percent only my misunderstanding. ,this was stated to me by the front desk manager. Then, simplely, gets up and walks away,I don't care attuide. Please understand that the hotel is beautiful, this is all of the beautiful of the outside. The inside of being welcomed is totally self-service. No assistance with luggage, parking is limited. For a hotel, the food was massed producted. I have eaten in hotels and restaurants with far better food. I was grateful but for the cost totally not worth it.I would recommend if you are able to communicate only in ENGLISH that you experience other hotels that will have a better understanding towards guests and willing to have respect for a guest that made the effort to book reservations, be at least treated equal as other guest , Everyone works hard in life. you deserve to have luxuries for comfort,a place that gives you the greeting of good morning. Can I help you.? Appreciated, Wanted ,as a guest! Not a unwelcomed ,not valued guest. Do better for yourself.! DO NOT BOOK AT THIS HOTEL!

Good location

Wasted by rude staff who has ruined all the fun. Not for families. No access to Spa or pool if you are not naked. Worst hotel staff I have ever experienced. Fined me CHF100 because I complained about cleaning the carpet as they couldn’t clean it and said it’s my kids mess which I wasn’t sure as they put bleach to clean which made it worse. No sense in cleaning. Very rude manager, in the end didn’t want to let us go without fine. Too much to fight at the end of our lovely day. We stayed two nights but ruined all our beautiful experience in Switzerland Please don’t book it. It’s not the worth.
