Pros +
- The personal is so professional and helpful. The building is a part of alpine history.
- The staff were simply amazing! They went the extra mile to make sure every part of our stay was enjoyable. From the reception team, to the drivers, to the Manager and even housekeeping - such kind, good people.
- Restaurant was first class. Balcony and views were wonderful.
Cons -
- The gym (no weights for powerlifting)
- Some areas in certain rooms have issues connecting to their WiFi. The management upgraded our room the next night because of this issue. The restaurant service took two hours on our first night - they finally sent the food to our rooms when we left - service was excellent for the remainder of our stay however.
- We were off season, so quite empty. A bit odd as a result. Changing area for the nice pool was basically a confusing closet.

The hotel was in the center of the town near a park. We took the bus to lake. There were many restaurants around us. The warm pool and a jacuzzi was very fun.
nice and comfortable with good breakfast and friendly staff. Spa is also well designed and nice.
I can't complain about anything only that this hotel is very old. Even though it is renovated it still have the old vibe (old fashioned carpets and lights). This gives it a special charm but some people might expect more modern facilities.
Good place , good price and good service especially all staff in a restaurant.
Location is perfect staff were excellent especially at the breakfast The breakfast was good
no coffee machine in the room
Superb
We ordered room service. for main we had 2 beef Angus burgers. The burgers were so terrible we could not eat it. The bread bun was completly stale, it was impossible to bite into it, it seems like it was a week old. We tried to eat the meat only, but it was raw inside. Seriously? how can you serve a raw burger. it was such a dissapointment. It was late and we were tired, so we just went to bed without bothering to go anywhere else to eat.Absolute let down just from room service food.
Superb
The food must be improved. A magnificent hotel with great staff and very average cuisine !
The property has a grand appearance, but is rather soulless as a hotel. Its vastness in some of its public rooms is accentuated by its emptiness of guests. It makes for a very ‘cold’ experience as a guest.Breakfasts were very good with a good selection and the staff were attentive to the few guests in attendance.
As stated the hotel is rather soulless. The few guests resulted in the hotel having no feel to it. Restaurant facilities weren’t open due to lack of guests, some were closed but offered their menus in a combined dining area.Room facilities were lacking with specific lack of UK to channels after 5pm each day, and even during the day it was limited primarily to BBC1 but nothing in the evening.Staff talk openly of how busy it is in WEF weeks, but it is as though the Hotel is focused on that period of the year but not any other time.
Fantastic hotel with great shuttle services for skiing, delicious and rich breakfast, super SPA and very friendly personnel.
As we were a large group, there was a bit of a chaos with the rooms set up (twint vs double).
It is a beautiful property very well placed in Davos. Nice spa with pool and hot tub.
Slow internet unless you join their loyalty programme! All 5 star hotels have fast internet today. Time to realise reality! Not free parking!
nice breakfast
The spa is quite small relative to the large number of rooms in the hotel. During high season, it was difficult to find a sunbed by the pool, and the area was not particularly relaxing due to the number of children playing. There is a small 'Ruhe Raum,' but space is very limited. Ultimately, I was unable to fully enjoy the spa facilities.
Location was good and it was clear it used to be a luxury property
They had recently changed management and the new management had not supported the hotel with personnel. I believe there were less than half the staff they should have. All the staff were unhappy and this was passed to the clients. The systems were not working at all!
Nice ok fashioned look
I had to leave after 2 nights of a 3 night stay. My mother died while there abs the hotel have not contacted me once even though I told them I had to leave
the room was so so, the breakfast and spa was decent but not for enough for a 5 stars hotel
I liked the space of my room, was big and comfortable
The staff were generally good at their jobs, though not necessarily friendly or engaging. Our room was consistently cleaned and made up to a high standard, which we appreciated.
From the lobby to the bar, the restaurants, and even our room, this hotel felt uncomfortably cold—like stepping into a fridge. This made our stay less enjoyable, as we expected a warm and welcoming atmosphere, especially in the mountains, where a cozy retreat is most appreciated after a crisp day outdoors. Unfortunately, this lack of warmth significantly impacted our overall experience and was the main reason for the low rating,The hotel itself is older and shows its age despite some upgrades. For instance, having a shower inside the bathtub feels outdated and should be addressed.
Got my cartier watch stolen from the room and no one could do anything for us
The hotel is majestic from the outside. A beautiful, traditional building with a certain grandeur. Our room had a beautiful mountain view and a nice decor.
As stated by other reviews, this hotel is slightly outdated. Now, its traditional decor gives it a certain charm compared to newer hotels, but being a 5* hotel I would have expected a better maintenance of the grounds. It's the small things that make a big difference. For example, some tiles were loose in the steam room and the decor of the spa and the fitness room could benefit from an upgrade. We picked this hotel specifically for its charm and were also expecting an outstanding service experience, as it's usually the case for a 5* in Switzerland. Unfortunately, the service did not live up to our standards on several occasions. Additionally, being a foodie, the food in the restaurant was very disappointing. We had the Christmas set menu. Apart from the long waiting times between the courses, the food was bland and not well prepared. All things that should not happen in place like that. A real shame as I stayed here a couple years back and had very fond memories of this place. We won't be coming back.
Great gastronomy, a fabulous atmosphere in a historical Grand Hotel and the very professional staff makes it memorable.
Nothing to report.
