Ambiente Hotel Freieck

Location: easy 9 minute walk from the railway station; directly in the Old Town.Reception staff was extremely polite, friendly, helpful and charming.Single room (a "real" one, not a double used as a single) was bigger than average.Excellent 3-star breakfast (with hot omelette, fried bacon, sausages).

Loud tourists pass your windows more often than desired.Unlike the room itself, the bathroom in the room was a bit too small.The staff in the restaurant was not as friendly as the reception.Too many rules in the restaurant (sterilize your hands! don't take the food away!) The rules are all very reasonable and I totally respect them, but just a tad too pushing.

Furnishings and bedding were older, not very comfortable. Thick blanket on bed with no top sheet and no air conditioning.

The breakfast was great. (Scrambled eggs, bacon, pastries, fruit, yogurt, orange juice, coffee, etc)The location was only 5-7 minutes from the train station. The cable car up the mountain was only 8-10 minutes away.

I can't think of anything. It's a cute hotel in a beautiful town. It's what you want to experience when visiting Switzerland for the first time.

Good location and very clean , large room for 4 of us and more modern than we expected. Breakfast was great as well.

Very clean and near the train station . The reception gave us a card with qualified to get discounts in some attractions.

The location was great, only a short walk from the train station and we got to walk through the Christmas markets along the way! Hotel staff pointed us to a restaurant for dinner where we could enjoy authentic Swiss foods. Breakfast was well done, too.

There wasn't anything that did not meet or exceed our expectations. Amenities were great and we enjoyed our stay immensely! I highly recommend this hotel!!

Excellent location! Super close walk from train station and easy to find ...even if you have suitcases! Wonderful, charming downtown neighborhood that was very centrally located within the city. Darling shops and parks right there.

We liked everything and would recommend this spot to others. Considering another visit to Chur and booking this property again.

The hotel was located in the heart of the old town which can be explored on feet in a couple of hours. Close to Co-op . the train staion and other amenities.

Close walk from the train station and many restaurants within walking distance. We really enjoyed the many options on the breakfast buffet.

We arrived on the Bernina Express as did many other guests. The check in process was efficient, but the staff seemed stressed.

This is a historic hotel building which is done up beautifully. It is right in the middle of ancient Chur history, which was quite interesting! It was a 15 min walk to the Railway station, making it a favorable place to stay, while travelling Switzerland by rail.
