    Pros +

    • Old school, beautiful view
    • Luxurious and comfortable room, beautiful view. Small size made it easy to get in and out, and the staff was friendly and helpful
    • The Queen Victoria room was pure elegance: grand, luxurious, and fit for royalty. The room itself was stunning, beautifully styled, and made us feel like we were living in a palace, while the overall setting was simply breathtaking. Breakfast was the perfect finishing touch: relaxed, indulgent, and a lovely way to start the day in such a magnificent place.

    Cons -

    • A lot of bugs in the room. Mosquitos spiders etc...the room is very hot in the summer since there is no AC.
    • Honestly, there wasn’t much to fault, it was a fantastic stay overall. If anything, we just wished we could have stayed longer to soak it all in. When a place leaves you wanting more, you know they’ve done something right.
    • The restaurant was closed during my visit so ate from the limited bar menu which was ok, but not great. I think the breakfast buffet must have been more limited than typical because other guests reviewed this well and I thought it was very mediocre compared to other similar hotels at which I have stayed.

Front desk staff were excellent, exceptionally friendly and very helpful! The bed was comfortable, the room was lovely and the bathroom was nicely appointed and very clean. The hotel itself was unique :)

The restaurant was outstanding. Very attentive staff.

The rooms were extremely warm. Air conditioning did not work properly.

I was amazed by this historic castle and the design, the bar and the restaurant. It is my first time travel to Luzern. My room is simple, comfortable and elegant. When I arrived a bit early, the staff told me room was actually ready and I can check in. I was very happy.

Since I am a bit afraid of height, the balcony was a bit small when I stepped out and standing there. But it is not a big issue.

Property is beautiful and close to old town

We had two rooms booked. The suite was fantastic. However the room where our friends stayed at was not so good. There were super squeaky stairs in the room and bed was super soft and uncomfortable.

The staff was great and hotel was nice and clean

There was no air conditioning which was needed in the heat of the summer.

Breathtaking views from the room and balcony. Staff was very friendly. Enjoyed a drink at the bar with great night views of the town and Lake Lucerne. Great place to escape the hustle and bustle of the city.

They need fans in the room for warm nights as there is no AC.

It is classy, tastefully operated, exceptional rooms with lake views, excellent food, speedy room service and overall we felt like we were very well taken care of!

No AC in the rooms could be improved. Otherwise everything was very very good!

The property is so unique, with an amazing bar and incredible views. We had a room with a patio overlooking Lucerne and Lake Lucerne. It was wonderful! Staff was wonderful and the included breakfast was very good.

From check in to check out it was a wonderful stay. Staff was friendly and helpful. We were offered water and prosecco upon arrival. Parking was right in front of the hotel and 20CHF. The rooms….I can’t imagine a more beautiful view. Included in our stay was the mini bar and little snacks left for us.The American Bar had wonderful craft cocktails and the food was good as well. Breakfast was typical buffets with meats, cheeses, pastries and yogurt with the option to order eggs. A little pricey at 39CHF in my opinion, but very convenient . The lift down to the Main Street is perfect and everything is walkable from there however they did offer a free bus pass with the stay. Would recommend highly!

Loved the location looking down over the city and the Chateau was very beautiful. Breakfast was amazing and the staff were kind and helpful.

Our room smelled like used ski boots which was not pleasant. If going back I would request to be moved if this was a future issue.

Our room was amazing. we had an incredible view! we were greeted with champagne and beautiful views. The hotel was so cute. I loved our room. the heater worked so well. the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was very nice with a deep bathtub and great shower pressure. I love the little cart that takes you up and down the hill. it was included in our stay and it was a great touch. the breakfast was also included in our stay and it was one of the better 'included breakfasts' that I've had. the hotel bar was also super cute.

The hotel was a little expensive but it is a beautiful space and we would stay again. A little far from things.

Beutiful facilities! Great history and very updated

The older section didn’t have the best heat. They moved our room to a more updated one quickly

    5JeannettePosted on: 11-26-2025

The view from the hotel is stunning.

There was weird pop music playing in the courtyard all day. Didn’t suit the scenery. Also the whole hotel seems in need of some updating.

    10DiannaPosted on: 11-16-2025

Such a beautiful historic hotel. We loved our stay here. The coolest part is it has its own funicular to get down to the street and back up.

    8FeikjePosted on: 11-12-2025

The castle & location are amazing

The “duplex” room. The pull out chair is small for an adult. The lay out of the room with the shower in the bedroom. Floors & stairs were creaking badly so you would wake others up

Friendly staff. Beautiful elegant older hotel. Such a fun location!
