    • River, surroundings, quiet and calm
    • Gorgeous glamping tent room on the river. Staff was super friendly and great spa experience too!
    • I really enjoyed the casual luxury approach and the very tranquil atmosphere. The gardens are beautifully maintained and create a relaxing setting. Even during bad weather, everything was taken care of — meals and even a spa treatment were delivered directly to my room. The Wi-Fi was reliable, and I was able to work from my terrace without issues.I come regularly to Luang Prabang for work and often stay here. For me, this is consistently one of the best places to stay in Luang Prabang.

    Cons -

    • The charge everything, whatever you want to do there ( clases activities) and make mistakes with the check, they are badly organized ( staff) , the pictures don’t reflect the rooms
    • Was happy with everything.
    • that i always only come for a night and cant stay longer

Excellent customer service, highly recommended! While some of their facilities were inaccessible due to the recent river flooding, they compensated with a lot of amenities including room upgrades. They even custom made a cake for my mom's birthday. All staff are kind and accommodating. We also appreciate the flexibility of their transport facilities and their prompt communication.

We booked an Art Deluxe Room but were pleasantly surprised with a complimentary upgrade to a stunning Riverside Suite. The view of the river was breathtaking, especially at sunrise, and the room itself was spacious, beautifully designed, and spotlessly clean. Every detail was thought through — from the comfortable bed and high-quality linens to the little touches that made us feel truly cared for. The staff were warm, professional, and genuinely attentive, going above and beyond to make our short stay unforgettable.Even though we could only stay for one night, it was one of the best hotel experiences we’ve ever had. The peaceful atmosphere, amazing location, and exceptional service make this place a true gem. We left feeling relaxed, grateful, and already planning our return.Highly recommended for anyone visiting Luang Prabang — you won’t be disappointed!

That we could only stay one night — would have loved to enjoy the Riverside Suite longer!

very nice and special boutique hotel and eco-farm, in a seclude and splendid area. the staff is super warm and the service is simply exceptional. the manager Carl make you feel privilege. We really appreciated our stay in the river tent and would recommend every nature lover people to stay at the Namkhan.

This place- the staff, the food, the ambiance, the activities- are EXCEPTIONAL. We splurged to stay here after staying at mostly hostels/hotels/home stays, but it was worth it! We slept so well- the beds are divine, the tents and sounds of the river are beautiful. The breakfast spread is so delicious!

    Nothing. Everything is pure luxury!

Quiet area, staff was exceptional, Swimming pool and quality of meals

Door of the villa couldn’t be locked for the first day, cleaning was not top notch, airco failure in the upperroom and issues with the toilet

We stayed at this retreat to celebrate a birthday and had a really enjoyable experience overall. The property is well-maintained, with a nice pool, friendly staff, and well-presented food. The team even went out of their way to make a birthday cake and sing Happy Birthday, which was a really thoughtful touch. The manager, Carl (from New Zealand), stood out. He was approachable, helpful, and gave us some great advice for our next stop in Vietnam. One of the convenient features is the hotel’s app, which lets you request transport, order food or drinks, and message the front desk. Everything is charged to a tab that you pay at checkout, which works well, though it would be useful to be able to track your expenses through the app during the stay. They do offer gluten-free bread, which was appreciated, but this isn’t mentioned online. It would be helpful if the menu had clearer allergen labelling, especially for gluten, as nothing was marked and it meant having to ask staff regularly who had little knowledge. Overall, a great spot with strong service and a few areas that could be improved to make things even smoother. We’d be happy to come back.

This small luxury hotel is incredible. Not only is the setting picturesque, but the staff are super friendly, know your name and would do anything to make your stay memorable. As it was my birthday, they went out of their way to provide me with a birthday cake and Karaoke on the Sunset cruise that we had booked, which they normally don’t do. After getting off the shuttle, we were whisked off to our wonderfully roomy accommodation by golf cart. These guys have thought of everything! We very much enjoyed lazing in the huts by the river which were equipped with lounging mattresses and took great delight in having a dip in both the big pool as well as the smaller one near the spa. We were gifted a beautifully handmade notebook each-a lovely surprise. Additionally, this hotel supports various charitable endeavours, thus supporting the community. Their eco-friendly philosophy is observed throughout the lodge, which is admirable. We found wandering through their organic farm interesting and the QR codes attached to plants, informative. We were impressed with the fact that the general manager took time out of his busy day to personally introduce himself and answer any questions. Overall, this was a magnificent stay and we would highly recommend it to anyone who is considering staying here. We certainly intend returning to enjoy this piece of paradise.

Great concept. A fantastic, secluded spot a little out of the town. The restaurant and bar were great. The rooms were ok. They seemed a little cramped together and lacked some privacy and considering the size of the plot this seemed a little odd. Our room had no where to sit outside which was a shame. The staff were wonderful and very helpful.

Incredible hospitality from Carl and his team of beautiful humans. The small touches went a long way, turn down service, the little gifts left each night on my bed, how they top up your water frequently at the pool. I was SOOOOOO glad I stayed out of town- Luang Prabang town is beautiful but noisy and this place was pure peace. The breakfast (unlimited a la carte) was outstanding. The coconut crepes were delicious, they even let me take coffee/smoothies away when I had an early tour. This is a minor detail but it melted my heart the way they folded and pressed my socks! Into perfect origami cubes :) free yoga, sauna, ice baths. Watching the locals just across the river was fascinating. My favourite thing about the resort is its heart- they put great effort into supporting local blood drives, they have 16 (well trained, vaccinated, friendly) dogs on site, they help fund emergency surgery’s for locals. It’s a complete oasis and I would love to come back xxxx

The tour prices are expensive, as was airport transfers.

The Namkham Hotel is a super quiet and relaxing oasis along a river with a nice view and beautifully decorated houses. It is quite big but it still seems very relaxing because there are many hidden spots like little yoga retreats and little pools, play areas for kids, a beach, fire place, gym, organic gardens etc. But everything is open and seems to flow with nature. I must say it has a spiritual sense. The breakfast and restaurant itself has a very good quality and the staff members are extremely friendly and try to do whatever they can to make the guests happy. We must thank the Hotel Manager Carl. He is always available to give recommendations and help with tours. The hotel offers a shuttle bus into the city which is very helpful because it's a bit far from the city centre. We enjoyed our stay a lot and would definitely recommend it.

Well managed resort, where employees at the reception, pool or restaurant seem to know you by name. Not sure how they do this, because we don't carry badges or post our photo somewhere. Very spacious accommodation with view on river and romantic and comfortable sleeping in tent with airco. Cosy warm LED lighting at night. Quiet at nights with only sounds of animals and no music, bars or traffic. Facilities are clean and of good quality. Free access to sauna and free use of mountain bikes. Very good breakfast and dinner with high quality organic food in restaurant with view on the river and very friendly and welcoming staff. Free shuttle to the center of Luang Prabang. We discovered this place by coincidence on a bike tour while staying at an other hotel and extended our stay in Luang Prabang to stay here. In hindsight, we would have preferred to stay here more nights if we had discovered it earlier.

As can be expected from a remote location the prices are relatively high ($65 for dinner), especially since they add additional charges for tax (10%), service(10%), credit card (3%), and an optional tip. We were invited for a happy hour with one free drink for every one ordered but noted that both drinks were charged. When we complained about this they said that the free second drink did not apply to our fruit juices, only to alcoholic cocktails. Apparently they 'Eco' connotation to their positioning does not necessarily imply that they always promote the healthy choices.

Room was great (stayed in the art deluxe) and the resort is very pretty, many things to do, really liked being able to cycle into Luang Prabang. For at restaurant was fine

Two things: the breakfast was really not good enough for the price. No buffet, you had to order and each time disappointing: first time I ordered a feu (traditional Lao soup), except it was not a feu: wrong noodles (vermicelli instead of the normal flat rice noodles), broth tasteless. Second time I ordered bread and croissant which was really bad- bad quality toasts and cardboard tasting croissant. For that price I Woudl expect better breakfast. The second thing I found disappointing was that despite advertising many shuttles into town, there were only about 4 a day. Which means you are a bit captive for food etc

Beautiful surroundings, comfortable amenities and super helpful staff.

Staying in the tent alongside the river, can enjoy the nature at your own pace.

Had problem with the lock. A bit inconvenient with the bathroom, which is outside the tent and cannot be locked. Advised planned check-out time in advance but the cart did not come to take the luggage.

Amazing property lovely views excellent room facilities and view from riverside lodge. Great food and cocktails. The manager Carl was very helpful both with recommendations for LP but also for the rest of our holiday. All the staff were excellent.

AMAZING is probably the best word that can describe our 3 nights stay at “THE NAMKHAN” eco-resort retreat, situated on the banks of the Namkhan River. From we arrived, the personal touch, and care was felt, and the staff did their best in order to make us feel special, and welcome at all times - often greeted by our names in restaurant and bar, which make us feel even more wanted and special as guestsHad the most amazing food served in their cozy restaurant, overlooking the river, breakfast buffet, lunch and dinner was so tasty, and well cooked, with lots of flavors, fresh herbs and vegetables from their own organic farm, were you can even join, and cook your own meal after picking your vegetables on site, next to the restaurant - lots to choose from on the menu, and we especially loved the Lao local food and taste, from the menu card - you must also try one of the wonderful drinks, when happy hour in Bar & Restaurant - served with crispy cashew nuts and local roasted peanuts - always a good startLots of activities, yoga, spa, pool, games, “beach” and sports and gym - but in a relaxed and cozy vibe - no stress, just relax and feel good - loved pool area and facilities in that area with towels and cozy bar, free cooled water served at your sun bed - what’s not to like15 minutes drive from hotel, you find Luang Prabang city, where you should go for a boat ride on the mighty Mekong River, reception can arrange a tour for you, or just use the APP linked to reception for booking your activities6 times a day - free shuttle to/from city centerYou will find a small shop in the reception, with local products made by selected local women and projects - we loved the engagement in supporting the local community - and we will cherish our new breadbasketsWe can truly understand why THE NAMKHAN is a proud member of “Small Luxury Hotels of the World” - Rooms well equipped and nicely designed and decorated for maximum comfort and wellbeingThank you Carl, and...

Stunning property throughout and suite overlooking the river. Excellent food at the restaurant and the grounds of the resort were outstanding. Had a fantastic yoga session overlooking the river and a perfect traditional massage at the spa. Every detail of the hospitality was thoughtfully considered. The manager, Carl, went out of his way to provide guidance for our stay there and tips for our next stop in Cambodia. He is a real gem! Only regret was that we could not stay longer!
