Madilao hotel

Friendly staff, they make you feel like home. Nice setting in Laotian architecture. They provide you all the information to move around.

Massage wasn't that great. It could have been more professional.

Loved this property. Staff were super nice, helped me with everything I needed and even shared some of their year end celebration food with me. Room was very well equipped, very clean, and overall great value. FoodIn the restaurant was good as well and the bikes were readily available to ride to town. Only downside is that it’s not that close to the town center, you will have to bike some 15-20 mins to get there or take a taxi (which they will help arrange)

The staff were helpful and the bed was amazing. Quiet and clean. Shower pressure was good and the pool area was nice. Can definately recommend the place!

The shuttle bus service could run more frequently.

I prefer this location. Lots of arts and craft workshops and free shuttle to market area if you want to. Excellent staff and well run by manager stepahnie

- the concept of this hotel is very nice- in our building, the rooms were separated by stairways in the middle of the building, which made it somewhat quiet in the room from my perspective- the balcony in our room was quite nice and big, with view to the pool - the breakfast variety met our expectations, and the food was very good- I also liked that they have a gym in this hotel - the pool is spacious and very nice- the hotel also provides bicycles free to use and explore the area - there are some nice coffee shops in the surrounding area and also some shops with handmade stuff

- the staff at the front desk staff seemed a bit strict, and it could be more welcoming- the announcement says that there is a 24h front desk, but in reality, it closes somewhen during midnight - if opening 24h, we would have booked by walk-in some days earlier already when we arrived at 2 a.m., but no one was there to let us in- the room doors could be sealed for closing it more quiet, avoiding to annoy neighbors by loud door noise - the first time I did not pay attention to this, and it made a big "boom" when I closed the door- in the gym, there could be more options for muscle training, e.g., by providing one or two benches that give an option of laying straight but also adjusting the backrest in different angles- at the pool, there could be a basket to drop used towels - when we went there, a lot of loungers seemed congested, but guests just left their used towels on there when leaving

Great staff, really welcoming and helpful. The room was clean, and the pool was nice.They also provide free bicycles, which is a big plus since the location is a bit far from the city.There’s a small but cute gym: 3 treadmills, 2 bikes, 1 elliptical, a pull-up bar, and free weights up to 35 kg.Breakfast was a mixed experience: sometimes they offered a buffet with a great variety – lots of fresh fruits, vegetables, proteins, and eggs cooked to your liking. Other times it was just a single dish from the menu with limited options, which felt a bit disappointing. I guess it’s probably because of the low season and fewer guests.

One day there was a power outage for a few hours, and the water stopped running in the room for a while, which was frustrating – but the staff fixed it as quickly as possible.for us bed wasn't the best, but definitely more comfortable from other places we stayed.I’d mention again the days without the breakfast buffet…

We had a fantastic stay at Madilao! The hotel is fairly new, with spacious rooms, large and incredibly comfortable beds, and an excellent shower. The pool is amazing, and the gym and breakfast were both great as well. We initially stayed for a week and enjoyed it so much that we returned for another two nights.Although it’s about a 10/15 minute drive to the city center, getting there is super easy thanks to the free shuttle service offered several times a day, or you can book a private transfer without any hassle.We would definitely come back and highly recommend Madilao, especially if you’re traveling with kids. Everything was just spot-on.

Although outside of the main area, Madilao hotel was perfect - very quiet, clean and comfortable with a lovely swimming pool and grounds and a good restaurant. It is only 10 minutes by taxi to the night market and the airport.

There was nothing I disliked

The facilities are amazing: buildings, gardens, restaurant, pool, gym... everything is charming and well designed.Service: even though it was new year time, and they were most probably very tired, all the staff was present and caring. We really appreciated them going extra mile preparing a late informal dinner for us, after restaurant opening hours.The owner were around and you can feel their dedication and desire to go above and beyond for guest satisfaction (e.g. free upgrade).The food was really tasty also, with fruits front the garden on the table.Beds are hard and really comfy if you like this type of mattresses.

The breakfast is a work in progress for a 1.5 years old hotel, which is to be expectedThe location is not ideal if you want to be in the middle of action, however for us it was perfect and there are free shuttles 4 times a day.

The property and staff were excellent, verry clean and food was good

Property was only a few years old and in excellent shape with a beautiful design and layout in a relaxing garden setting with a lovely pool, gym area and a great restaurant open all day until 9pm. Free use of their bicycles for a 15 min ride into town. Most comfortable place we stayed in Laos over 3 weeks, everything is organized and all the staff are most exceptional. The layout of the buildings provide excellent privacy to their guests, the location is outside of the tourist area so very quiet and only a 5 min drive on their nightly shuttle to the historic Old Town and the room is big, the bed is comfy, the shower works excellent with hot water( we learned not to take that for granted in Laos) and had everything you need to relax with a breakfast that was included cooked fresh daily and with lots of choices. Can’t say enough about it-made our five night stay in Luang Prabang a most wonderful and positive stay and travel experience.

There was nothing we didn’t like. In our four months of travelling SEA and with close to 30 stops, this property was at the top of the list and provides great value to their guests.

Exceptional

Wasn't walking distance to night market but shuttle every night at 5 bring you there but they only pick you back up at 9

Nice swimming pool open until 9pm. Spacious rooms and great views. Staff were polite and friendly. Free tuk tuk to town every day. Calm and relaxed atmosphere.

Some of the hotel bicycles were in useless condition, flat tires or breaks didn’t work etc. Breakfast could include more fresh fruit.

The location is quite far from the center. Bicycles are available for free, however the brakes don’t work good. The scooter rental (3rd party) is below par, the rental costs are not high, but the delivered scooters have a lack of maintenance and are unsafe (worst scooters we’ve rented during our whole backpacking trip in SEA). Unfortunately, staff was not assisting when we had a medical emergency during the night. In stead of ordering a taxi or provide other help as requested, I had to drive and look for a hospital by myself

It's a great new hotel in Luang Prabang with good pricing and a nice pool and facilities. We stayed for 12 days and enjoyed breakfast of great variety from one day to the other. Also, the restaurant on site serves good food for reasonable prices.

I must have been unlucky that we had 4 days of various celebrations around the local area that involved karaoke. The starting time was late afternoon and some would stop at 11-12 PM. The location from the old town is quite far, there is a commentary shuttle leaving at 5 PM and returning at 9 PM. It is this far because one of the walking bridges got swept away in the floods. There is some rebuilding going on though.

The best of the best in Luang Prabang. Don’t worry about distance to city center. There are cheap taxi and free melex from hotel everyday. One big villa is only 4 apartaments. You can relax and honestly it is not crowded.

The hotel is very nice, lot of amenities for a 3 stars, breakfast is great with multiple choices. The ability to rent scooter at reasonable price directly at the hotel is a big advantage. (Hotel is 8/10min motorbike from city center)

The room was a bit outdated in some parts (yellow stain of the ceiling and floor), the aircon was a bit loud, no good helmets with the motorbike.

Everything was beautiful , staff were fantastic, rooms and swimming pool were great! Highly recommend

Little out of town 10min drive?

We love everything about that hotel. It just opened 1.5y ago and they did a really good job! Beautiful plants all around, big and clean room with big balcony, nice pool with free pool towels, good restaurant, nice staff and a big, air conditioned gym! We rented a scooter for most days so the location was not a problem for us but it might be a bit annoying to cycle into town every day in case you want to do that (takes around 15 mins). At night it could also be a big dangerous as the bikes dont have lights. Scooter rental price is 200/day - same price as in the city. Laundry was more expensive than elsewhere so we didn't use the service.

Two very minor things to think about: 1) vegan milk option for the breakfast buffet 2) a flat bench for the gym
