Moonlight Champa Riverview

This is a wonderful place to stay. It’s beautiful and in a lovely location on the river. It’s decorated beautifully - both the main areas and the rooms themselves. The staff are wonderful as well - very warm and professional. The breakfast is also good. We highly recommend it!

Bathroom was one of those where the toilet and shower share the same space. Not unique to this hotel but not the best design.

Nice view of the river and common outdoor space.

Room had little flying insects in them since window could not be tightly shut. Did not enjoy the floor length window from the bathroom to the rest of the room, and the curtain that is not adequate in covering the window. Hotel also a bit far from restaurants and attractions.

Location. Hotel is very quiet. Rooms are very nice.

The breakfast was way below average. Coffee was horrible.

The room really need little touches of care to deserve that price range. For example when we arrived the bathroom light and fan did not work, and they only get fixed the first. The tub drain get often stuck and one hand soap for the sink would have been nice. The worse is the bathroom door that doesn’t close at all, so forget about the privacy.

The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful right from the start, and they seem to take care of the hotel and its guests with lots of care and attention. I stayed in one of the top rooms with a balcony and a lovely view over the river. The room is perhaps a little minimal compared to standard hotels, but it's comfortable and has everything you need, including AC. It was pretty much exactly as in the pictures. The hotel is maybe 20-30 minutes walking distance from the old town, or you can easily get a taxi / tuktuk there in 10. The staff also organised a driver for us to go and see the waterfalls, another friendly face called Simon, and provided lots of information for possible future activities and excursions.

There wasn't really anything not to like, I would just recommend checking the pictures and reviews so you know what to expect!There were a few steps down to the hotel and up into most of the rooms, and there isn't a lift, so it might be difficult for those with accessibility issues.

Very nice place & staffs. They gave as a free room upgrade due to a minor issue in our original room. Breakfast is very simple but amazing. Thanks for making our stay amazing! See you again :)

The room was big and beautiful. The staff was very friendly and refilled our bottles every time we asked them. Lovely common area with views on the river.

The only downsides are the location and the bed. It’s a bit far from the center (15-20 min walk) and the bed was too hard for me.

The place ,the staff and the view. Would recommend to anyone who needs rest.

We stayed here twice and loved it every single time. The rooms are beautifully designed, very elegant yet down-to-earth and with a very local touch. Beds were huge amd super comfy. The common area and river terrace are just as nice, and perfect for a relaxed breakfast or reading a book and enjoying the river view.The location was great for us, it's quiet, with a beautiful riverview, and it takes just a 10 minute walk to get to the city center and all the highlights. One thing we really want to highlight was the staff. So incredibly friendly and helpful, competent, and very focused on providing a great experience to all their guests. They also speak English well, which is definitely a plus and not a given in Laos. They were so lovely and really made our stay an 11/10. Thank you!

I am very impressed with the service of the staff here. They took care of us in every way, coordinating motorbike rental and calling a car to the airport. We would like to come back and stay here again and would like to recommend everyone to stay here. Very good.

Nice terrasse

The Suite room was infested with mosquitoes, forcing us to spend the evening chasing them rather than enjoying our Valentine’s night. The windows could NOT be closed as they were completely DEFORMED. You can check the photos.I aked the staff to help, but he only gave us a cheap bug zapper. And I have never said "No problem" to him. The staff even came to the room to show him the problem with the windows.Additionally, the bathtub was not operational, as the hot water flow was too weak to fill it (fully opened). Only the cold water worked properly. You can check the photos. Lastly, the breakfast was not as amazing as mentioned in other reviews. It consisted of just a few pieces of fruit, a croissant, an omelette and a yogurt served in a shot glass. The owner's comment below my review is clearly not the truth. If they wanted to discuss the issue instead of attempting damage control, they should have accepted my 50% refund proposal.Hearing nothing from them, I had no choice but to post this review.

Beautiful setting on the river with lovely decor, clean room, basic breakfast of eggs cooked different ways

Lots of mosquitoes that come in the room every time you open the door, broken tea kettle, no hand soap for the sink, if you ask for a tuktuk it’ll be very expensive, better to get one yourself

What a view! I booked a deluxe room with a small, privat balcony that overlooked the Nam Khan River. I wateched the moonrise and the sunset each day while the sounds of birds and laughter from the children playing on the shore on the other side of the river. The breakfast was made to order- fresh eggs, delicious local fruit and coffee. The staff went above and beyond to assist with booking tours, train tickets and transportation to the train station. I love the location away from the hustle and bustle of the downtown area, about a 20 minute walk.

Plumbing needs some attention. There were very slow drains in the bathroom and sink, a drippy faucet in the beautiful free e-standing tub, and an occasional sewage odor from the toilet. The mattress , like ALL mattresses in Southeast Asia, is beyond firm, which makes for a lot of tossing and turning throughout the night. That is kind've the norm in all of the hotels I have visited in this region.
