Pros +
- Amazing amenities for the dog. In the room there was a dog bed, food and water bowls, a brush and treats. Really great. Gilligan the mini Schnauzer loved it`
- Newly revamped hotel with all the necessary comfort.Location very central for business and easily walkable to ZHAW. Excellent service as well.A very nice Christmasy atmosphere with a Swiss touch.
- Everything was great. Beds are comfy, breakfast was small but with sufficient choice. Everything was clean and modern and staff were nice. Great value for money.
Cons -
- Breakfast options limited but OK for a night.
- The underground parking situation is peculiar. It consists of a car elevator which is extremely tight, but requires you to get out of your car to push the button to go down. We were not given the clearest of instructions regarding this which caused some unnecessary stress. On our last night, my sister's key card stopped working and she could neither get into the garage, nor enter back into the hotel as a result. The hotel doesn't have a 24 hour reception but they have a night shift call center who were able to send someone to intervene in about 15 minutes. Luckily, as I was awake I could atleast open the door for her so she didn't have to wait outside in the cold.

Located right in the center of the town and updated rooms!
The breakfast was so-so; Could have been better
Very good location for walking in the Altstadt.
Driving through the Fußgängerzone was challenging as was getting stuck in the autolift in the parking garage!
Great location, very well taken care of, beautiful rooms. The entire hotel was better than I expectedThe hallways lights up as you walk, the shower, even in the standard room, was a huge waterfall, even the closet has a light that turns on as you open the doors. I highly recommend it.
Receptionist at the front desk was very helpful waited for me beyond her time as my driver got lost helped me with my bags
Taxi could not come to the front door
Great hotel, very comfortable room, with all amenities. Close to railway station, in the center of the city. All in all, eveyrthing was perfect.
The location was excellent, right in the middle of town and very easy to get around, with a convenient entrance from the restaurant side. The staff was outstanding — from check-in to the café team, reception, and housekeeping, everyone was warm and welcoming, always greeting us with a smile. We were traveling with a baby, and they provided a super cute crib and a teddy bear toy, which was a thoughtful touch. The room was very comfortable: the rain shower was great, the beds and pillows were excellent, and with the windows closed, sound insulation was complete. We appreciated being placed on the quieter side of the building rather than facing the restaurant.Additional touches made the stay special: three complimentary drink tickets (even though we didn’t use them), safe luggage storage at departure, self check in, and a proper company invoice on request. The breakfast offered vegan and gluten-free options, including decaf coffee with plant-based milk, which was excellent. Overall, a very thoughtful and comfortable experience.
The only issue was that the air conditioning seemed unadjustable. As it was warm at the beginning of September, we had to keep the windows open, which wasn’t ideal. Otherwise, everything else was excellent.
Chose Winterthur as a base for excursions north and east of Zurich, and we didn't want to be in the big city. Swiss Tourism agency rightly put this in a list of the most "Swiss" Hotels. Small but friendly, one of the best updates of an older building I have ever seen. Room was generous size, bathroom immaculate with large shower, breakfast buffet had everything you would expect, and staff friendly. The room had a view down onto the street and cafes below. We had dinner one night at their restaurant which had what we wanted for traditional Swiss food. Hard to believe we were in the middle of a major music festival in Winterthur given the reasonable price.
We stayed multiple nights at this boutique hotel located in the altstadt. Each night we had a different room selection to know which room was best for our return visit in November. We loved the bed and linens. Opens up to two lovely coffee shops outside in the little plaza. On site bar and restaurant had great food options. Easy 5 min walk from the Bahnhof and a Coop. The standard Queen room is sufficient; however, the larger king gives more room
It would be nice to have a air condition unit that didn’t have a governor on it, limiting the ability for fresh, circulating air. A standup rotating fan would be a nice addition for room circulation.
Our arrival day was my husband's birthday and, as result of my contacting them on this topic, they very nicely decorated the room to greet himself for his birthday.
Our taxi from the airport had a hard time finding their way to the hotel because it is in the middle of the pedestrian area of Winterthur. The taxi driver was not familiar with the center of town and thus had to ask locals of how to best get to the hotel with the taxi. Seems that the GPS info had not helped him much ...
Excellent location, super clean room. Friendly staff who were all very helpful.
Very comfortable and a great location. Staff really helpful especially around parking. Breakfast is a bit weak. AC didn’t seem to work in our room.
AC didn’t work in our room (220) but the room is lovely.
The rooms are amazing and have GREAT air conditioning. This was the only hotel we stayed in Switzerland where the air conditioning actually worked well. The waterfall shower is amazing and so relaxing. The pillow selection and the bed are extremely comfortable and the blackout curtains really black out light.
The parking is expensive (40 CHF) and the parking garage is not at the same location as the hotel - although it is very near. Also, that whole area is considered "pedestrian" and you will find it hard to get into those streets to park in their garage. I would strongly recommend this hotel for anyone travelling without renting a car and who would prefer walking/using public transport.
Good location. Great customer service. The room is large and very nice. The hotel is located in the pedestrian area, which is a great location. The staff is very nice and very helpful. Breakfast was good too.
I came with a car. Parking is not easy there. The hotel is offering a parking but very expensive.
Amazing stay , everything was perfect location ( close to the airport), staff, room , breakfast and Winterthur is just magnificent. Highly recommended!
The breakfast was delicious, rooms are clean and bed was very comfortable.
The a/c not working properly. We were offered fan that did help.
The rooms are lovely, and our bathroom had a walk-in shower. The hotel is located in a walking area. There are lots of dining options close by. The staff at the hotel was very cordial and helpful.
Comfortable overnight stay after long haul flight from Australia to Zurich. Easy level walk (apart from cobblestones!) along Untertor from main Winterthur railway station. Friendly and helpful staff, spacious room and bathroom, comfortable bed, very quiet at night even with the windows open (Winterthur seems to turn off its chiming clock until 6 am), good shower, heated towelrail. Kettle and coffee making facilities in room. Excellent breakfast with coffee made to order, and catering well for dietary requirements, including gluten free and vegan. Appreciated the Easter Day chocolate on the pillow, and also the apples at reception and the offer of a bottle of water when leaving. Large Coop supermarket at the railway station with plenty of takeaway food options.
Long check-in process, being asked to enter information manually into ipad at Reception, even though most had already been given to Booking.com. Found the duvets on the bed too warm and did not want to turn on the air conditioning to compensate.
