- Very frendly
- This historic hotel is charming. The breakfast is exceptional. It is near the center of the old city and everything else of special interect--restaurants, churches, train depot, Bodensee.
- The room was neat and clean. The windows could open to ventilate the room. The bathroom was perfectly utilated and the water pressure was great. When it comes to the breakfast, the food was excellent and diverse. One could choose any variety of dishes. The bar staid open even past breakfast, until 11 PM, which made it comfortable to lounge at the reception-restaurant area. The building is historical and it has goregeous decorations on the facade, and intricate carvings at the lounge area. It makes for a unique an interesting stay, especially for history/architecture lovers. The staff was so kind as to share an envelope with the history of the building at check-out.
Cons -
- Swiss prices are unbelievably high, and so you have to adjust to sticker-shock.Class
- I loved the staff and how friendly and accommodating they could be. The check-in period lasts until 11 PM, which makes late check-ins possible, especially if arriving by train and experiencing delays.
- Really could you air conditioner in the room.

Amazing room, great view, and very spacious.
Really could you air conditioner in the room.
Excellent location. Very nice staff and the breakfast was perfect!
The bathroom/shower size. Snacks available in the lounge would be ideal!
Location was good - on the edge of the very crowded Old City, so it's easy to amble around there, but if you want to get out of that, it's easy. There are hotels closer to the train station, but this was fine. We had bikes and the bike parking space was fine (essentially a large airshaft type space within the hotel). The breakfast is outstanding - both the dining room and the food provided.
The biggest concern was the bathroom. Definitely a compact space, but nothing we weren't expecting. The bigger problem was that the bathroom had a wet dog kind of smell - and then after I washed a few things in the sink, the water from the sink caused a bunch of blackish water to come up in the shower. Maybe because Konstanz is such a heavy tourist destination, the staff (with a few exceptions) seemed to be pretty disengaged.
Great location, very friendly reception, quiet room, we could keep our windows open at night. Breakfast was a fabulous buffet, highly recommend it. There was a safe place inside the hotel to store our bikes. Close to walk to the Lake. We biked to Mainau Island, not far at all. Definitely recommend visiting the island. Gorgeous gardens and park.
Everything about it was great
Excellent staff, great breakfast, nice apartment in the loft!
Everything was very good.
The staff were all very welcoming, friendly and helpful. The breakfast selection was wide ranging and the breads and pastries in particular were fantastic. The location in the old town is conveniently sited for accessing the shops and the train station is an easy walk about 7 minutes away. Our room on the fourth floor was clean throughout and, whilst a little basic, suited our needs perfectly. Nice bonuses were the free wi-fi and that all guests receive a complementary travel card for the region valid for the duration of the stay.
The only minor complaint is that tea/coffee making facilities weren't provided in the room by default, although we were given a kettle and some mugs when we asked. We had brought our own supplies of tea anyway just in case and bought a bottle of milk from the supermarket to store in the fridge so it wasn't really an issue once we had the kettle provided but may be something to take note of if that is important for you. The roof beam in our room (410) drops very low into an area close to one side of the bed, wasn't an issue for myself personally but could potentially be an issue for somebody with reduced mobility.
Location is excellent: in the heart of Old Town, 10 mins walk to the lakeStaff were friendly and very helpfulTop floor rooms have a super view above the roofs of KonstanzWe had the suite: 3 bedrooms, living room and 2 balconies - excellent!!
Breakfast can get very busy, though the team tried their best to accommodate us.
The hotel lacks all hotel services. The only good thing is its location in the city center, and the breakfast is of an acceptable standard.

Brilliant location, great value for money. Be aware the closest car park doesn’t take card. Lots of history. The breakfast was spot on for the price.
Location and breakfast!
Room and bathroom very outdated, noisy from the street.
beautiful building, great location, quiet, and gwinderful breakfast.
the angled table in the small room made it hard to move around. a rectangular table/desk would do wonders.
Historic beautiful exterior with lovely historic dining area. Modern rooms—we were upgraded to the suite with views in three directions, although we actually booked the family room desiring the curved windows but they were taken. One of the best breakfasts we have ever had on our euro trips to over 30 cities.Close five minute walk to train station and only one minute to either old town or bus stop. Free Bodensee travel card given too.
That the family rooms we booked were not available (but then they upgraded us to the suite, which was very nice)
The beautiful paintings on exterior of this lovely historic building complimented with the modern interior has all you need for your an enjoyable stay. Staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast choice was amazing, fresh and plentiful.
My room did get cleaned though I did not ask … not huge problem but as was short stay probably not needed
The hotel is beautiful to look at and has a fabulous location! Both the night and morning staff was very friendly and helpful. We had the impression that the rooms were very clean. They could use a bit of updating, including Smart TVs. The price is very good for what you get- but I would be willing to pay more in this amazing historic hotel if the rooms were a bit more "special".
Right in the City Center Nice breakfast buffet
Room interior looks a bit outdated
The girl at the reception has been so nice....she gave me an upgrade for the room....it was sach a beautiful room...the parking is for free 'till 9 a.m. ??
The staff were willing to solve any issue. Breakfast was great.
The sheets were not changed, and the toilets were not cleaned after five days of stay.
