Hotel Waldhorn

The staff is lovely! Super nice! Breakfast is a classic German restaurant breakfast with toast, bread, meats, & cheeses. The restaurant is quite good for Schwäbische food.

It is advertised as having A/C, however, there were limited amount of rooms that actually have A/C. We did not get a room with A/C, so the room was extremely hot even with the fan.

- Parking available and great location (when by car).- Breakfast was small but decent.

- Noisy room- Uncomfortable bed- Loads of insects on the balcony- Staff (morning shift / breakfast) not really friendly. When asking for a tissue they roll their eyes ...

Great connectivity via Bus 7395 all along Bodensee Friedrichshafen till Meersburg every 15 Minutes ! Biggest WoW!! Train and other buses too . Breakfast was great and all else comfortably 3Star .

Has no Unobstructed view to Bodensee , as one would believe seeing the map , but the ease of getting to hotel and opening one to the great Bus network along scenic Bodensee roads to Üblingen made up for that !!! great place to stay as first time tourist away from all the crowds in

The location to the train station

There were mosquitoes and other biting insects we asked the receptionist to spray after our first night but we were bitten each and every night, we killed several but that didn’t stop them from biting us. The staff were not welcoming or friendly except for the ladies on Monday morning 20 May. The evening meal food we had on our arrival was tasteless! The salad dressing was like a soup, far too much!!

Room well appointed and clean. Breakfast was good with large selection. The restaurant has a great selection of starters,main courses and deserts. food was well presented and ample quantity. Staff pleasant and helpful.

Quiet place, clean and confortable room, good breakfast, great place/spot for bicycles trip on north and south.

All the staff members I met were kind and professional. Their English was great. Room was clean and comfortable, and parking was included in the cost. The room is simple, but that's all I needed--all the basic amenities, packaged in a clean, orderly fashion. The breakfast, which was included in the cost of the room, had a good variety of choices and was delicious. The staff kept it well stocked and fresh.

The only negative I have is that my room was up a set of stairs, down a set of stairs, up another set of stairs, and into a hallway behind a closed door. I had a lot of luggage, and there was no easy way to get my stuff up and down. There is an elevator, but it only takes you to the first floor--multiple staircases left to navigate. Not all rooms are located where mine was--I possibly could have asked for another room, but I'm young and fit so I didn't make a fuss. For people with physical conditions, I recommend asking for a room that can easily be accessed by the elevator.

Even though you are close to the lake, the immediate surroundings of the hotel are very boring and there is no nice lakeside.

The shower gel dispenser didn't smell very nice (it smelt like baby wipes) but there were alternatives in small bottles.The breakfast just needed some crossaints and pastries to round it off.

The hotel’s location is great, there is a fuel station not far from the property and a supermarket within walking distance. It’s very close to the lake and has some great balcony rooms.

There was an issue gaining entry to the hotel later on in the evening. The doors are locked after 10 pm I believe and the notice with instructions to get into the hotel were, understandably, in German yet there was information in English which should have been helpful. Luckily I was with a German speaker who helped call through to security, but you could potentially find yourself in a tight spot if you don’t plan ahead especially if you’re returning later in the evening. There were no staff on at all behind reception after 10.

Zimmer: A spacious, comfortable room. On one of the bed-matrasses it felt that you could easily roll off when you were laying too close to the edge.Frühstück: A bit more than 'standard', fresh bread. Lots of coffee, tea, juices etc.Essen: A large selection of mainly regional dishes, taste and 'amount' of food was very good. So was the beer.Bathroom: Although the bathroom was very spacious, the shower was relatively small, could have been a bit wider, there is space enough in the bathroom.Free parking in the underground garage, very good.
