Coco View Hotel

Rate Coco View Hotel offers a pleasant stay with a lovely riverside view from the stateroom, capturing the charm of Samut Songkhram. The location is peaceful and relaxing, and the hotel has a cozy, local atmosphere. While it is a little far from the main attractions, this was acceptable for us as we booked the hotel to visit the Train Market the next day, which is only an 11-minute drive away.A nice surprise was the hotel’s own homemade sugar lemonade, available free of charge in the minibar along with water. The taste was interesting and refreshing. The hotel also features a small swimming pool and a fitness center. Car parking is sufficient, free of charge, and the main road is close by.The most impressive part of our stay was the breakfast, which was included in the price. It offered a generous buffet with two types of juice, water, and the local lemonade. The hot buffet included sausages, noodles, rice, fried eggs, hard-boiled eggs, rice soup, and more. There were also fruits, bread, and two kinds of marmalade.The stateroom was amazing—spacious, with a large TV, very quiet and effective air conditioning, and a balcony (although a few chairs would have been nice). The bed was comfortable, and I appreciated the smart technology that alerts you if the entrance door is not properly closed. The staff were friendly and welcoming, adding to the overall positive experience. It’s a great place to unwind and enjoy a slower pace of life.

On the downside, from my point of view, some areas of the hotel—especially the surroundings—could benefit from better maintenance, and the facilities feel a bit basic considering the price. While the rooms are comfortable, they could be more modern. With a few improvements, the hotel could offer much better value for money. As an observation, the reception area and lobby could appear more professional, as the space behind the desk currently looks like a storage area. The ambiance of the entrance could also be enhanced, especially since the hotel produces its own lemonade, which could be highlighted more attractively with proper shelves and simple advertising. Finally, adding a small sun lounger or chair on the balcony would allow guests to better enjoy the fresh breeze.

No sound proofing between rooms. Disturbed at 5am by neighbours. Put in a double room even though we’d booked for a twin. The room was changed though.

We needed more than one room key. If one fo the group left the hotel, we needed to ensure one of us could let the other person back in.

Location by the main road makes it a bit noisy. Balcony should be equipped with even basic furniture like table + 2 chairs. Ashtrays should be provided.

Nice sized room, very good shower. WiFi good in room. Reception stored my bicycle inside the hotel. Staff at reception was very helpful. They got a guy to take me to 7/11 on motorbike as I wasn't going to walk there and try and cross 6 lanes of traffic to get there.

It was very difficult to regulate the shower temperature. Had to settle for a lukewarm shower temperature because just a slight turn of the knob (only 1 knob) was scalding hot water.The listing on Booking.com said there was a bar; the "bar" was in the restaurant and only served beer (and only Leo and Singha), no wine and no cocktails. Not much of a bar, even though there was a nice array of craft beers (Sky craft beers) displayed on a shelf in back of the bar.The booking stated it had cable TV..not a single English channel, all Thai.The booking said that reception spoke English and Thai. No one at reception spoke English...all had to be translated via Googel translator.The location is really bad; there is a 7/11 about 1Km from hotel but to walk there, I would have had to cross a total of 6 lanes of moving traffic.The listing in Booking.com said the hotel had tuk tuk service...not available anymore.The listing said restaurant open for dinner...but it closes at 6 pm now, very limited 1 page menu all in Thai.

Reasonable hotel, staff happy to help, using Google translation. There was a really nice restaurant next door to the hotel, just by the car wash, which was very accommodating and great food.

Found an infestation of ants all over the bed in the morning when I woke up. I told the receptionist and they dealt with the issue, I did as to be delicate but they said it was fully booked, I'm not convinced that was true as we only saw two other couples in the whole time we were there. We were due to stay for 5 nights but cut it short as the hotel was a good half hour walk along a busy road to the town and we found the Maeklong restricted for tourism once we did the market and train ride.

The hotel does not deserve four stars.Minimal room facilities, nobody speaks English! No transport service into town, we couldn't leave our bikes at the hotel. A maximum of three stars!

Modern , pool , gym , overlooks river

Bedroom lighting is awful . No bedside table , no bedside lights or low lighting . Lack of sockets near bed . Bath towels small . Breakfast really basic

Big and clean swimming pool and jacuzzi. Very comfortable bed. The staff was helpful in organizing transport. Only 1,5 hrs by car from Bkk centre.

Nothing much to see in the direct neighborhood, but we knew this before going there, so it didn’t matter.

The staffs were unfriendly except the security guard in the parking lot. After making the room each day, the staffs didn’t refill the used toiletries like cotton buds, shower cap, and toilet paper. Normally, the hotel provided two bottles of coconut flower juice every day, but the cleaning staffs didn’t put these in the room after making the room every time/every day. The customers need to ask for missing toiletries and the coconut flower juice. The customers shouldn’t need to ask for what the hotel listed that they provide in the booking details.

wifi so weak it didn’t work and there was an issue with the cards at check in first with the lift and then with the room. There was also no hair dryer provided

Eeverything about the actual place is excellent, the reason for staying was the whole downtown area floods every day and is impossible to negotiate

The location is difficult, with no grab taxi in the area you have to wait for tuktuk which the hotel will call for you, just a little bit out of the way and can be inconvenient if you need to get somewhere quickly

Friendly helpful staff. Very clean modern hotel, excellent Covid precautions in place. Breakfast had a good range, with some unusual Thai dishes, besides standard noodles and rice. Pleasant outside area adjacent restaurant.
