Novotel Le Mans

Not much was disappointed in this novotel as my other experiences have been good in other locations

The rooms are beat to heck and dirty. It is also very loud and felt almost like a hostel rather than a hotel.

Staff was very friendly. Restaurant food was great, but a bit overpriced.

Rooms and exterior could do with an updating

Nice size pool, some friendly staff, some not so friendly.

Seemed like it needed a good refresh, old and musty smell, the rooms were not in great condition compared to other Novotel. The poor area could do with a refurb and a refresh.

Bar area

Expensive breakfast . Cooked items looked unattended and unedible, poor selection, 1 small toaster that didn’t work properly. Safe in room didn’t work.

LeMans was a nice surprise, beyond the 24 hrs of LeMans museum. Nice old town, nice restaurants.

Breakfast was quite expensive if I remember well. Found a nice bakery not too far for excellent and cheaper breakfasts.

Very quiet at night and staff helpful

A bit tired decor and off the track when using the A28. Le Mans is a road work nightmare

Hotel a little tired and needs to be ‘aired’ as the rooms smelt old and could probably do with a refresh.Pool was closed which we were aware of, but it was 21c all week so disappointing they couldn’t open it a week or two early!Reception and bar area was funky in a race way, and car park semi secure. Novotel need to stay ahead of competition as sharper hotels at less money out there.Staff were exceptional and worked well to make you feel welcome - they made up for the lack of investment.Food plates - need to be scrubbed before they hit the dish washer please.??

Location good.

Reception areas was a large table beside a child’s play area. Foul smell from sink in bathroom permeated bedroom. Didn’t have breakfast as was 20€ each!

The hotel is old and the rooms are dated . Staff were efficient and friendly with excellent English language.

The lift needs maintenance as it is quite jerky in operation . It's rated for 5 people but there is a sign outside limiting it to 2 people ! The bathroom looked like it was fitted out in the 80's and shower controls very stiff to operate .

For an Accor. Hotel it wasn't a patch on an ibis styles

Being asked for 100€ deposit when I had paid on line and intended to pay cash for any additionsPrices of wine and beer were extortionate choice of 3 wines of each colour at 29, 42 and 52 euros a bottle Beer at 10€ for 50clHaving to eat a very mediocre dinner, served by clueless staff with our overcoats on because the heating was not working, were we forewarned -no. Altogether an experience not to be recommended

The -4° temperature when i arrived, but that's not the hotels fault ?

Regular stopover on way to the gers. Ideal for us and our dogs.

Service in the restaurant can be a bit hit and miss

The hotel was clean and the rooms were very comfortable. The food in the restaurant was excellent both for dinner and breakfast.

Room was bit dull

The staff were excellent. They notified us of a valuable item we left behind by accident, and posted it for us as we'd already hit the halfway mark back to Calais. All arrived, well protected and fast. Many thanks :) We arrived at breakfast towards the end of the slot and sometimes the hot options were running low. They were topped up though, just not immediately. We just waited with a coffee so no real problem. I would have preferred hot pancakes, but the kids enjoyed them! The rooms were roomy and showers nice. We had to have 2 rooms for 2 adults and 3 kids so a family room would be a fab addition but it was excellent value irrespectively.The pool was great with plenty of chairs around it and was open until 9pm so weary travellers can refresh and kids let off steam before bed, after being in the car all day. Lots for kids actually with a play park, gardens and a play area in reception to keep them entertained while you check in. All in all a thoughtfully put together rest stop which we'll definitely use again.

The hotel was nice and the room was spacious for 2 adults and 2 children.

Unable to get reservations in the restaurant for both nights at an acceptable time for the children, breakfast was OK, lots to pick from but hot food wasn't replenished quickly enough.

Perfect location for a stop off overnight stay on our journey through France. The swimming pool provided a break and the restaurant provided prompt service and tasty food. Family room was spacious and clean.

Wasn't as close the the centre of Le Mans as I first thought it might have been but that didn't detract from our stay.

Was not what we booked .asked for ground floor and garden pool view. And got second floor wife cant walk far and use lifts or stairs it was a struggle.

The staff made this stay. Welcoming and clearly hard working.

The property seems like it needs a bit of an update. A little uncared for. A lack of attention to detail, table tops not wiped down, lipstick on mugs, etc, small things but they let the place, and the staff, down, and make the guest look closely at other things. It may also be a good idea to have a designated area in the restaurant for those who bring their dogs along.
