    Pros +

    • Clean, comfortable, and relatively quiet. The air conditioning was a lovely reprieve from the April heat. Perfectly suited for people under 60 years old.
    • Locations wasn’t near Pub street. Must take Tuk Tuk.
    • room size is good, peaceful & quite. The main tourist market is not that near by but its not that far way as well. Brush& toothpaste & comb in washroom was excellent touch. however, it would be awesome if shampoo can be given as well. Pool is small but good to have, restaurant inside is nice touch

    Cons -

    • This hostel doesn’t provide a key for the locker which you must find a store to buy at unknown area. They said outside store but wasn’t clear which store I can buy it
    • Tours prices a little pricey from neighborhood properties. for late check out even that's maximum till 6 PM charging half day rent is a little expensive, it should be pro rata basis with a little fee and charging 3% extra if paying by cards was surprising because i did not witness it anywhere else in Cambodia even while shopping from small shops or eating from small restaurants.
    • The 2010s pop music playing near the bar began to feel like a torture device after the first 36 hours.

I’ve stayed at The Siem Reap Chilled Backpacker three times now, and every visit has been just as amazing as the first! The staff are super friendly and always go out of their way to make me feel welcome. The location is perfect close to everything but still peaceful and relaxing. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the facilities are well-maintained. I especially love the pool area it’s such a great spot to chill out after exploring the temples. This place truly lives up to its name! I’ll definitely come back again. Highly recommended for backpackers or anyone looking for a fun and comfortable stay in Siem Reap.

Staff were really friendly, clean bathrooms/beds/etc., nice spot with a pool and decent pool table.

The 2010s pop music playing near the bar began to feel like a torture device after the first 36 hours.

    Big and clean swiming pool.

    Air conditioning is noisy.

    10MarijaPosted on: 12-14-2025

Spacious room, comfortable beds, very helpful staff that can organise tuk tuk for you for Ankgor Wat, bike rental, location without noise.

The facilities were the fine it was the staff that was the problem

I asked the receptionist to look after my bag. She said that they didn’t have room near the reception so that I should move my bag to the table in front of them and they would look after it. I come back at the end of the day to find out 1000$ had been taken from my bag. The receptionist did not in fact look after my bag and “coincidentally” they weren’t any cameras where she told me to leave the bag. I would never in my life return to this place and I wouldn’t recommend it for anyone ever!

The price is really good for what you get

There was a rather large spider in my room and lots of cobwebs and there were a lot of other spiders throughout the hotel, this gave me a lot of anxiety and I had to leave

I had a wonderful stay at The Siem Reap Chilled Backpacker. I stayed in a dorm room, which was very clean, comfortable, and quiet. The price was really affordable, and the atmosphere was relaxed, perfect for resting after exploring the city and temples. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout my stay. It’s a great place for backpackers looking for a peaceful, budget-friendly, and comfortable stay in Siem Reap. Highly recommended!

The staff is amazing, trying to solve everything you need, making you feel like royalty. The Manager really sits on a gold mine here. The pool is nice and even though they are promoting themselves a bit like a backpacker hostel, I think they should focus on the distinguished feeling you get as soon as you come into the reception with its amazing wooden railing staircase and the adult and expensive feeling the building gives. The bar or restaurant is very nice but too expensive. Only lower the prices a tiny bit and the guests will have no reason to go elsewhere.

COLD SHOWER IN THE PRIVATE ROOM, CLOGGED COMMUNAL SHOWER. The staff is told by the management to answer to the guest that it is the solar panels and it's cold because it's been raining. But I am an engineer and that is just a bad excuse That is definately not the problem, there were several days without rain and the cold shower is the same temperature. The Manager must listen more to the staff and give them independency to solve the problems. A simple clog in the communal shower could have been solved immediately with this lovely and willing staff if the Manager would just let them solve certain problems without contacting him first. Too much micro management. Also this strange idea that a small boy has to clean the AC whilte the woman was capable of cleaning it and cleaning underneath it, instead of having two people inlvolved. More support and faith in your female staff please, don't treat them like flowers when it suits and like less of workers when it suits. Be reasonable, empower your women, and be efficient.

    Nice Location

There was no fridge and there was no complimentary water but it's fine

The room was nice, great location

The restaurant in a hotel was not great. We waited for one little pizza 1h 40 min which was ridiculous. They should organize it better

This is my third time staying at The Siem Reap Chilled Backpacker, and I’m always happy to come back. The staff are friendly, the rooms are clean, and the atmosphere is perfect for relaxing.Right now, it’s really quiet I think it might be due to the situation between Cambodia and Thailand but that just makes it even more peaceful. Great place to unwind, meet travelers, or just enjoy a calm environment.Highly recommended if you're looking for comfort, value, and a laid-back vibe in Siem Reap!

I stayed in the Deluxe King Room Private and It was great! The room was spacious and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful throughout my stay ?. The swimming pool was clean and well maintained. A perfect place to relax. Overall, very good experience!

This was my first night at Cambodia, The staff here is super considerate they made sure I understood the currencies and how much is 1 dollar in Riel. They have free Wi-Fi and a big clean pool I swam nearly everyday. My dorm mates are friendly and gives each other privacy.

I had a great stay at The Siem Chilled Backpacker! The staff were friendly and helpful throughout my visit, making me feel very welcome. The dorm rooms were clean and well-maintained, providing a comfortable place to rest after a day of exploring. Best of all, the prices are very affordable, perfect for budget travelers. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Siem Reap!

It’s really quiet here, maybe because Cambodia and Thailand have closed their borders to tourists.

The breakfast here is seriously underrated. Simple yet satisfying, and always served with a smile. The real highlight? Their coffee. Strong, smooth and better than some cafes I've paid triple for. Starting the day on the poolside with a cup of their coffee was the perfect vibe.

The pool, restaurant, and pool table were nice. They offer tours in the lobby for purchase which is really nice. Also, you can use them to arrange transportation to other countries close by. I met some really nice people.

The private rooms were on the fourth floor. The room could use a bit of paint and restoration. I paid quite a bit for a single room in a two-star hostel and it looked two-star.

    10SimpsonPosted on: 6-6-2025

The staff was super nice and friendly. Great place with swimmingpool and pool table. Perfect location. Thank you!

No complaints at all. AC dorm for $2.75 what more could you ask for?
