Grande Bay Resort at Mahabalipuram

Lovely hotel with a beautiful lobby and pool area. Extremely helpful staff. We received a room upgrade that included a balcony overlooking the beach. We were able to cool off in the pool and change into fresh clothes in the late afternoon before heading to our next destination.

Our stay here was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived and were welcomed with complimentary nannari root drinks (a thoughtful touch I'll never forget), we knew this would be special.The service truly set this place apart. The staff constantly ensured we felt comfortable and at ease throughout our stay. The room was spacious with an excellent air conditioning system that provided perfect relief from the heat. The resort itself is beautiful. The pool was immaculately maintained and absolutely gorgeous, a wonderful spot to unwind. After long days exploring Mahabalipuram's incredible temples and beaches, returning here felt like coming to a sanctuary.The food was outstanding, and they even had a late afternoon tea service with complimentary snacks which was a delightful daily ritual we looked forward to. These small but meaningful touches really elevated the entire experience.The location is ideal, very close to the beach, making it convenient for both sightseeing and relaxation.Each day only enhanced our appreciation for this place. It's rare to find a property where every detail is so thoughtfully considered. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Mahabalipuram.

We were extremely lucky it seems - we got a room with a sea view (far but still something), could hear the waves and felt we had more privacy with our terrace looking towards the sea. We were also lucky that the hotel was half empty making it more quiet.Their restaurant had a decent selection of food and we dined there throughout the stay. Prices were fairly reasonable for what they offered!

The room was a bit worn down but otherwise the stay was good!

Massive pool and very clean. Rooms are big with a outdoor space to relax at the rear. Buggy to take you to the beach is a fine idea and convinient since the beach a short distance away.

Breakfast was definately a let down with very poor service and no repalcing of foods when it ran out . also, to note the fact that there was a delegation of teachers and the restaurant was completely full for meals.

I wouldnt say I didn't like however, need few improvements on Kids play area. Add few more outdoor games / activities for kids

Great pool and room (I was on the 2nd floor very close to the Spa)Afternoon tea was provided for free. Nice touch. Breakfast choice was also very good!Dinner was a little expensive (fish dish) for the size of the meal, but it tasted nice.Location is ok, unless you want to be close to the main streets in the town.

The signal for the TV was not good, so I was not able to receive many of the foreign channels. The staff did their best to fix it, but the next morning the signal was gone again. This was not too much of an issue for me, as I was out for most of the day and evening.

Service staff were very kind and helpfulI have a 3yr old and a 5 month old and service staff were so kind to offer to carry the 5 month old around till my wife finished breakfast.Morning they called at room everyday to remind for breakfast.The buggy man taking us to beach, security guards were all kind and excellent.

Exceptional Hospitality from every staff personnel, though size of the resort wasn't. Breakfast was really excellent, compared to other resorts in the neighborhood. The restaurant for dining is super clean and as said wonderful staff in there too. Overall, we liked it too much.

Location

Food quality and variety in the restaurant needs improvement. Each bottle of Kinley water bottle costing MRP Rs20 was charged Rs92.26, which is highly improper.

It was well-designed to begin with. Pretty too.The beach being near by was definitely a plus point too.Your staff spoke very well too ! Food was good.

Everything was perfect, and super clean. We used the swimming pool, so relaxing. We had breakfast and lunch, the food is so good. The staff is kind, gentle and available.

The place is NOT beach front. It is 200 mtrs away with no direct access or view from the rooms. The photos and description are misleading. The rooms are old, the wall paper is peeling in places. The cost of the food is very high but the taste is horrible. Not worth it for the amount of money they charge.

The property had a very big pool with the beach very nearby with a private entrance and lots of indoor games with a volleyball court and table tennis. The breakfast buffet and the high tea was good. Buggy service to the beach.

The rooms are a bit outdated.
