I believe it is the best location in Mahabalipuram. With greenery and all sightseeing places nearby.

I didn't like the restaurant inside. The food items are averaged and a bit overpriced for the quality they are serving

Location was good and the ambience inside the property.

The property is very old and the room wasn’t maintained well. The bed linens were old and slightly soiled. The mosquito repellant was bad and it took me almost 30 minutes to get a good replacement. The towels were soiled and old. One of the main door latches were inoperative. The food in the restaurant had very little portion sizes (which we haven’t seen in any other property).

Location is awesome, every thing is walkable. Room is very nice. A/C, TV, hot water, everything worked fine.Pool is easily accessible and kids will enjoy.

Restuarant has common kitchen with mix of both Veg and non-veg, is the only disadvantage. Dosa and omlet cooked from same live kitchen.

Simple accommodation in the heart of everything you need. Great to have a pool and a restaurant on site. Restaurant staff couldn’t do enough to make sure you had your meal exactly as you wanted.

There needs to be a massive cleaning programme carried out. Having a majority male staff does not make public toilet areas a priority.

Location and the distance to beach

Basic amenities not provided, said free upgrade but gave 1000 more. Towels and TV remote were also not provided.The reception staff was courteous but the room service staff was very rude.

I booked including breakfast , but I was told it breakfast is not included at hotel. I paid for my kid I was told its not paid by the hotel

Worst experience ever in my travel history. The bathrooms are horrible. This hotel needs lot of repair work. AC is not working properly. We had booked with 2 adults but requested extra beds. The rooms are not spacious but bathroom is bigger size with low quality cleaning.

The environment around the hotel. Reception was great. Room was okay. Bathroom was nice.

The support around pool are rude and racist !Pool isn't clean and full of chlorine. Humiliating elderly people. Not at all cooperative. Blankets given were dirty in room. Restaurant menu is not diverse enough.

We stayed at Hotel Mahabs, Mamallapuram, for three nights in early March. The location of this hotel is very good--- an easy walk to the Shore Temple, the beautiful rock carvings, as well as restaurants and shops. The staff are warm and welcoming, and our room was large and pretty comfortable. The interent wasn't great in the room, and it had a wet bathroom. Breakfast was buffet style, and they will cook eggs, dosas, and so on.

We had a pleasant enough stay at this hotel however it is good to know that while the pictures of this hotel make it look lovely, in reality it is fairly scruffy. I wouldn’t have trusted the water in the pool, many pool tiles are missing, and the tiles around the pool are uneven and very easy to trip on. Piles of empty plastic water bottles and laundry are left at the bottom of the stairwells.

I opted to pay a little extra for breakfast, as it was not included in my stay. The meal featured a made-to-order selection, including dosa and omelets, along with a buffet offering a variety of breads, tea, coffee, butter, fruits, and more. The quality was excellent, and everything was delicious.

Overall, the property is quite charming, with a prime location near the beach and within walking distance of the Shore Temple and other archaeological sites. The rooms are of a decent size, and most aspects of the stay were satisfactory. However, the air conditioning unit was not well-maintained, and some of the pool tiles were either loose or missing on one side, which was a minor drawback.That said, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would highly recommend this place. It offers great value for money.

We stayed as a group of three friends . The stay was very good this hotel has very good amenities and very close to bus stop, beach , has very good restaurants nearby and all . The only thing was we expected breakfast to be included in the stay but the hotel were charging extra money for breakfast since they told if we book in booking.com breakfast isn't included. Also the room we were given was good and spacious but it was on top and stairs leading upto it felt very unsafe . Swimming pool was also well maintained and kept clean and staff was very friendly .

A secluded hotel just off the Main Street. Large swimming pool and attractive garden. Friendly helpful staff. Faded hippy vibe. Fun place to stay.

Room was a little dated.

A great place, comfortable. Big help from the owner who also worked to find us a car to reach the bus stand. Customer oriented and kind during our various exchanges and needs. Fluent English. Thank you !

The location is perfect - in the centre of town and within walking distance of all the monuments. The entrance from the road is a bit scruffy but once inside the grounds you are in a peaceful oasis away from the hustle and bustle of the town with a delightful swimming pool around which to spend the hottest part of the day. The food is delicious and the staff go out of their way to be helpful and accommodating. This is not a swish, modern hotel but if you like traditional places with lots of atmosphere and good, old-fashioned values you will not find better in Mamallapuram. Highly recommended.
