    Pros +

    • I meant to visite using public transportation (train, bus etc.) and the hotel is ideally located for this.
    • All the staff and others there were very pleasant, helpful, and accommodating. The manager helped us secure train reservations after one we had was unexpectedly canceled the previous day resulting in overnight stay. He went above and beyond.
    • Location ok

    Cons -

    • At night, the place between the hotel and the train station has numerous lights and they show despite the curtains.
    • The room was up a long flight of stairs, and then a spiral staircase. There was no air-conditioning or fans. It was especially hot weather. Bed pillows were horrible.Food service was unpredictable. Purchased breakfast, and it was sparce at best.
    • Check in routine, low overhead in circulation path. Fire exit.

The location is perfect. I think it is an ideally located clean hotel with all the essentials for travellers. My room was very quiet. The bed was very comfortable.

Good location near centre opposite train station. A short walk to main shopping area. Parking, bar and restaurant. Outside seating and tables at back, unfortunately the weather was bad but plenty of seating inside.

Dinner was ok but mainly food from freezer.

OK location at the train station. A bar, so that I could drink to forget I was sleeping at the hotel.

Dirty hotel. The receotionist continued working even though I was waiting to check in. He saw me. No air condition. Hot hot hot. Bathroom small. Not possible to close door. Terrible Stay away.

    Cleanliness, comfort of bedse

tea and coffee facilities, working bathroom door

    8JoPosted on: 9-7-2023

Staff were friendly and facilities were clean and pleasant.

Room was a little on the small side but fine for 1 night

    8JoPosted on: 9-7-2023

Staff friendly and room was clean

Couldn't open the window on a hot night. There was only a fire escape window / door onto the fire escape and it wasn't safe to leave it open for ventilation. With no air conditioning it was difficult to sleep.

The reception staff at the bar were polite and professional although appeared shocked when we said we had a reservation!

Apart from the bar area where we booked in, It smelt of dirt, sweat and weed. The bed looked slept in, other ‘clientele’ of the hotel loitering around the place within the hotel and car park. The whole place felt unsafe. The window in the room was open although the handle was in the locked position and pushed to giving the impression of being secure although access was easy from outside - had it been left like this deliberately? This window led onto an easily accessible fire escape/stair case and it looked as if this had been used as an entrance point. Broken lock on the pedestrian rear entrance to the car park and people wandering in and out from the street. Jemmy marks on doors within the property. I watched an apparent ‘drug’ deal at the rear entrance (small item handed over in exchange for cash) in an attempted discreet manner. A male menacingly approached my wife at the rear of the hotel only to walk away when I got out of the car (fortunately) although he only walked a few steps before scanning up and down the road from the doorway of a kebab shop. My ‘spider senses’ were on full alert and it felt like the area, particularly at the rear of the hotel was full of problems. I should’ve researched all of this before making my booking but was rushing as we were in a hurry to find a place to stay. I’ve since done the necessary research and have discovered that there are social issues in the area and the crime rate is higher than the national average. You can even book a room at this hotel for a couple of hours during the day should you wish…We subsequently drove an hour up the road and found a great place to stay.
