Deer Garden Guest

We really appreciated the flexibility of our host, as well as the exceptional location of the accommodation. It turned out very handy.The host also brought us to our next location (Pidurangala), and we saw our first 3 wild elephants on the way, which was super nice.

The host family was very friendly and helpfull. The original Sri Lanka food was very delicious and plenty. The location is a dream for nature lovers with a lot of wildlife in the garden, on the fringe of the jungle an just a step to the ruins of Polonnaruwa.

Very nice place, peaceful. There are many wild animals around like deers, huge lizards, giant and ordinary lizards, many different birds, fire flies and cheeky monkeys.The family is very nice and they also cook for you if you wish. A nice breakfast is included.

Bed is broken not comfortable & bedsheet not a clean.They didn’t provide toilet tissue & soap. toilet is not clean ?.Many mosquito in the room …

We had amazing time. The host were really friendly and helpful. The breakfast was delicious. The house is near the forest and if you don't mind a few insects the place is wonderful.

We really enjoyed our stay at Deer Garden Guest. If you love authentic and quiet places surrounded by nature, combined with a spacious room and a nice terrace to sit on, Deer Garden Guest is your place. The room we stayed in was a family room, on booking.com referred as 'Budget Triple Room' which is bigger than a usual double room, it was like a small apartment on ground floor (no stairs to walk which is a big plus) with 2 connected rooms and a kitchen area. We loved the extra space, absolutely recommended. Bed was good, mosquito net was provided, rooms equipped with fan, breakfast was included and delicious. Great value for money. The place is well located in a beautiful and authentic neighborhood in walking distance to the Pollonaruwa ancient city and only 5 minutes walk to a nice and clean river which you can even swim in if you like. As we saw many people swimming and/or doing their laundry in the river, we had a swim and did some laundry ourselves and it was just the most beautiful day by the river. Deer Garden Guest also provides laundry service for a small fee. The hosting family was very welcoming and helpful during our entire stay, they gave us recommendations and helped organizing whatever we needed. We even reached out to them for local support at a ticket office in Nanu Oya after we had already left and travelled on, and they were so kind to help and solve the situation for us. So thankful for that! Happy with our stay in every possible way.

It's ok decent and peaceful place But the room was a little warm.

We were redirected to a different guest house. The owner should have informed us, but he was so unprofessional not to do so.
