A quirky place tucked away So close to the beach , this is an amazing miles long sandy stunning beach

Our room was upstairs and so our balcony wasn’t really a balcony it just looked straight into the dining area which meant we had no privacy. The hotel is literally right next to the train line so the trains pass very fast and loud right in front of the a hotel. We actually really enjoyed this. There aren’t that many , probably approximately three an hour. When there at no trains you can walk straight I’ve the trian track and onto the beach. Not many places in walking distance

The breakfast consisted of fruit eggs and toast with all the tea we could drink we found it very Sri Lankan

The trains passed the hotel and they started at 4 am a bit off putting on the first. couple of days but they became part of the experience staying at the ocean view.

The staff were very nice & helpful. The location right near the beach & close to shops was excellent. Breakfast was huge & tasty.

It was hard to sleep as the noise of the highway was constant. Also itt would have been nice to have a kettle in the room.

50 metres from the beach a certain charm &great view. There is a rail line next to it & which is noisy when train comes through but it didn't bother us in fact found it quite charming.

Wifi could be better.

Lovely room needs new towels . Asked for a kettle were given it. It's ocean view no view as in another block away from sea but also you don't get railway noise

No chairs for sitting on grass and not enough sun beds . Also asked for clothes dryer didn't give us one . Fridge would be nice

Rooms were clean and tidy.Balcony beautiful.

Rooms did not have Shampoo,body Lotion and no coffee or Tea facilities.

Everything was horrible.. dirty bedsheet unclean floor. Ant in whole washroom with dirty seats

Two serious problems: 1) inside booked room strong smell of rot; 2) railways very close - during nighttime trains make terrible noise!

Very nice beach nearby just beond railway..Several turtle rescue stations on the main road.Nice food

The railway is literally in front of your room which is a fun during daytime..not so at nighttime.

The train passing right past the house was an attraction.The accommodation is clean and the people are friendly.

Unfortunately didn’t receive an answer toenail or messages to have my daughters AirPods returned. We have located them to the property.

We loved the vibe at Ocean View, the property is minutes away from the beach but the railway between you gives a unique feel like you’re half in countryside, half by the ocean. We property is big and spacious and the AC rooms on the first level look very luxurious. We booked a fan room which was ground floor, it suited us fine and it was also spacious. We loved that we got to see the train pass so close to us and also loved how close we were to the beach. The staff were super helpful and lovely! Thank you!

Our toilet was a bit broken which was a little bit annoying but didn’t ruin our stay at all. Also you can hear the train quite loudly in the ground floor rooms- we didn’t mind it but it did wake us up a few times in the night.

Unfortunately nothing wowed me.

The location is not what was described. Very minimum ocean view. And train track runs just 10m from the room. Facilities very minimum. I went to the beach there was no chair or sun bed in nice condition so I’ve used next doors facilities.

The room had all the amenities we needed and was very close to the beach - so much so we went to sleep to the sound of the Indian Ocean.

The accommodation was right next to the railway line. Although this wasn't major problem for us some guests may find it offputting.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Super easy access to the beach and beautiful views. Nice breakfast

Bedroom, private beach, very nice and friendly personal, good food, perfect very big big and very confident bed. All new and beautiful. Big bathroom, modern. I will stay again for sure there. Thank you for caring me so well.

the hotel 1 minute from the empty beach. close to the city center, restaurants. Great people, very helpfull for everything. nice served food, Great stuff. nice looking Terrace restaurant

everything Ok

We loved this place. It was our first stop and it was perfect to arrive in Sri Lanka and calm down. It’s a really peaceful place. There’s a loud train in front of the hotel but it’s not very frequently but for us it was really charming. The stuff was super friendly and they organised spontaneously a guided fishing trip with a friend, which was great. Afterword they cooked the fish at the hotel. We would highly recommend the hotel ?

A quiet location with a nice, simple en-suite room. Efficient aircon. Beach visible, just, from the balcony. Beach clean and quiet - only a short walk away. Nice staff. Free parking. Good breakfast.

The railway is right in front of the hotel and trains run all night. No food in the evenings although there are restaurants nearby (not so cheap though). Price varies a great deal. Remember that a Booking.com rating in Sri Lanka doesn’t resemble what it would mean in Thailand. Costs quite variable depending on your dates. Road access extremely narrow. Only parking for one car really.
