We absolutely loved our stay here, it's a 10/10 and we cannot wait to come back. Everything was great: The friendly and helpful staff, beautiful property, located directly by the beach, the stunning pool, the food and drink options, walkability to other restaurants and the village. We definitely recommend staying here!

Wonderful rooms and very professional staff. Nice touches such as milk and not creamer. First place we stayed with a bathtub too. Lots of hidden areas to explore.

Food is a bit pricey especially rice and curry.

The pool

Great hotel located on Bentota beach. The hotel is a stunning colonial building with a great pool area and nice gardens. Food and spa facilities are excellent.

An elegant and delightful hotel.. with charming staff and a fabulous location... A short walk to the beautiful beach (over the railway line...you get used to trains!!) if you can drag yourself away from the spectacular pool!!

The Villa was heavenly! Wonderful architecture and our room exceeded our expectations of a standard room! The staff were brilliant and food excellent! We met some fascinating guests and felt part of a house party! The boutique was an added bonus to take back gifts!

There were two wedding photoshoots during the day in the garden, which made us and other guests feel uncomfortable and slightly intruding. In the evening there was a private party in the garden, of which the music was quite loud. Another comment, but not a niggle - the pool was very warm and not refreshing. If it’s not heated, there’s obviously nothing that can be done, but other guests did comment.

The hotel was total luxury from when you enter. Great welcome by the staff, beautiful grounds, beautiful pool and lovely rooms. Trains going past was a cool touch and can walk straight down to the most stunning beach. Can walk along and there are great beach bars and loads of people playing volleyball. We were at the hotel for a family wedding and it was incredible. Would find it difficult to find a hotel that comes close to it in the area.

Genuinely find it hard to criticise anything.

- Wonderful place, large green garden, large and cosy-warm pool- large, very nicely decorated rooms - excellent breakfast and dinner- hotel team prepared a birthday cake for my wife and even sang a birthday song

- when train passes the premise it is a bit noisy, but this is acceptable as everything else was wonderful

Beds were fabulous. Close to beach. All staff were very good and attentive.

Could do with a few more sun beds as some people put towels on them early.

The bed was the comfiest we had slept in during our time in Sri Lanka.The hotel was incredibly peaceful and beautifully decorated, and right next to a very quiet beach.The breakfast was excellent, with plenty of choice.It was the end of our holiday and a great place to relax before our flight home.

Great location. Offered tranquility and respite from the crowds. Good mix of residents. Receptive to special food requirements.

Fairly limited Ala carte menu. Food got repetitive after 2 days. The charm of the railways line next to the property ran out by day two.

The breakfast was lovely and it was a beautiful setting to eat in. All the staff were amazing and went out of their way to help.

The prices at the bar and restaurant were very expensive but there are lots of local restaurants nearby to eat traditional Sri Lankan food.

We had a perfect stay here, everything was beyond our expectations, the room was spacious and super clean, the Staff are super friendly and helpful, the hotel itself is great and very relaxing.

One suggestion is to improve the breakfast or include more options, it's not at the same level as the rest of the services on the hotel.

The buildings, art works, and grounds were beautiful. The pool and deck chairs were lovely and the staff were very friendly.Easy walk to the beach across the railway track. Good walk along beach to other resorts and into Bentota village & restaurants.

Some noisy residents sometimes, if you are close to the pool. But staff arranged all very well

Hotel with very friendly staffs. Clean room with comfortable bed, pillow & duvet cover. Nice environment. I think the swimming pool is a heated pool, nice to swim in.

Meals are charged by room. We have 4 rooms in the same booking but there was a communication breakdown when making the payment for the meals as the staff did not state clearly that there are 4 separate payment to be made. Is it a nostalgic thing to use the old key lock? It is kinda not easy to use the key to lock & unlock the door.
