Clean and nice rooms. Good food . Welcoming and friendly staff. Swimming pool is clean and filtered. Beach is very clean however the sea is wavy.

Daleep ji treated us like god. It was amazing!Loved teh place and the staff.The Taj stands for excellence.My daughter got baby food - khichdi warm milk and anythign else needed at anytime of the day

Everything was just perfect!The pricing was high because it was peak season but the crowd was amazing!Too much fun!Also, one of the nights was full moon so i couldnt buy alcohol at the hotel but rest of the time it was great!

Excellent location. The beach and the pool are special highlights. Also, the spa was a great experience.

For almost USD 600 a night, the room is very basic. Amenities, comfort and storage in rooms is on par with USD 200 rooms (minus the location etc.) - more a Vivanta room than a Taj one. Secondly, there was constant civil work happening at the hotel from 9 AM to 8 PM in the Christmas - New Year week!!! Thirdly, service while good in general, crumbles when the resort gets to 80% occupany it seems. Unfortunately, the "Tajness" was missing.

Staff here is the best, especially Mr. Matthews, the general manager. A real gem of a person. Under his leadership, the entire team of Taj is extremely professional and efficient! Wouldn't expect anything less from Taj. Great service as always!

Some dishes in the buffet were mislabelled, some lid holders were missing. Some dishes were cold, some chicken overcooked. The dal makhani could be more creamy. The dessert section was amazing though. Overall food and the presentation could be better. Overall a great experience nevertheless!

Gorgeous place and wonderful staff.All of the staff that we met were so friendly, warm and welcoming, whilst all working exceptionally hard. The hotel was immaculate and the service was great. A special shout-out to the head chef (sorry we didn't get your name) who cooked us a special birthday meal on the beach and Rujowan (apologies if I've spelt that wrong) the waiting on staff.Also Harsha our housekeeper made such an effort to make the trip extra special for our honeymoon and my birthday! Thank you!!!! I hope that we can visit again in the future!!

The staff are really nice and friendly, there are a lot of fun and entertaining options in the hotel, the view is perfect if you choose the right season for visiting.

There aren't much places to visit around the location, so you should either stay and relax in the hotel or spend more than 3 hours to reach other cities.

Excellent room service by Sachith ,food service by Dalip Singh and chief chef Piyush .Mr Piyush personally ensured that all the guests were happy with the food and went to all extent to provide the best vegetarian food possible. Mr Sibi ensured that our stay was the most comfortable possible.

From the moment I arrived, the service exceeded all expectations. The staff was warm, professional, and attentive to every detail. Check-in was seamless, and I was even offered a welcome drink, which was a lovely touch.The room was immaculate, beautifully decorated, and very comfortable, with thoughtful amenities . Housekeeping maintained the room perfectly throughout my visit.I was also impressed by the dining options. The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of fresh, delicious options, and dinner at the hotel restaurant was a culinary delight. The waitstaff was knowledgeable and courteous, making every meal an experience.

Everything is perfect.We check in at 10 Am and check out at 3 pm by free.

Amazing hotel, location on a beautiful stretch of beach. Big shout out to Asiri, who looked after us every morning at breakfast. All the staff were friendly and attentive. Peaceful location and would definitely recommend.

The property is set in a sprawling ground and the room size was generous. Service was attentive.

Great location, lovely staff, delicious breakfast, our room was modern (after renovation), very beatiful hotel and it's territory, we will definitely come back.

Our room had connecting doors with both sides, so we could hear our neighbours. That was the only minus, all the rest was excellent.

Helpful smiley staff, nice pool and a magnificent beach. And an excellent buffet breakfast.

Major bugbear was a continuous loud industrial fan over the swimming pool washrooms. Even though we were some distance away (421) we could clearly hear it from our balcony.Minor bugbear was the TV switching on every time we went back to the bedroom or there was a power cut.

People were nice

It was renovation going on, but they didt inform us and placed my family on that side, scared my children with perforators, after my complaint they moved us to bigger room

Very pleasant place to stay, amazing views from the room (ocean & swimming pool), swimming pool facilities, breakfast, overall service level. All the cons were small and insignificant, we would definitely stay again.

Bathroom needs a bit of renovation for a hotel of this level. What should be definitely changed are bathtub mats which have fungus on them. We also ordered a fruit plate for the check-in, it was served with a very small plate and a blunt knife - I am sure there is a better way to either pre-cut the fruits, or serve them with appropriate cutlery and plates.

The staff at the restaurant was very nice and so was the person who cleaned our room from housekeeping - shanta.

This hotel is old and dingy and definitely not worth the price. The property is unclean. My entire family got a stomach infection by eating food at the restaurant. The breakfast buffet is below average and they also repeat the same food everyday - fruits are also stale. The rooms are old and in need of refreshing. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Especially given that it's a taj property - this was very surprising. Far cry from Taj Samudra in Colombo which was excellent.

The location directly onto the beach is fantastic, all the food we had across all three restaurants was very good and the staff were very helpful.

I believe this is classed as a 5 star hotel, but for me it was a disappointment, considering the cost and the brand. Many areas across the hotel are run down and either in need of a good clean or renovating. Considering the price and what I have experienced across Sri Lanka in other hotels I would not recommend this hotel as a 5 star resort.
