Brit Hotel Rennes Le Castel

Ok for 1 overnight stay

Room was cold, duvet could have been thicker. 1 bath towel to share.

Staff were lovely, the chef is very good, location is great

It is a bit dated but upkeep is good. Shower a bit smaller than most but acceptable

Very comfortable bed, tea and coffee facilities and the best was the massage bath tub like jacuzzi.

The reception staff were excellent, pleasant and friendly. Had a problem with my laptop and they went out of their way to help me. Also gave me directions to catch the bus into Rennes centre. Room was clean and tidy, bed was comfy no complaints. Breakfast was plentiful every morning.

I didn't like that a lot of hotels now have removed the coffee/tea making facilities in the rooms. Why? It will only make travellers resort to tea heaters and cups as we use too. This is a industry problem not directed at this hotel.

Little bit austere

The room is very small in comparison to other hotel with the same prices . I wouldn't rate this hotel 3 stars. Two stars would be relevant. Lots of wear and tear in the communal areas which need refurbishment. The staff was great otherwise.

The parking space, the room service, the staff professionalism, the bed was comfortable.

The customer service was really bad first when I booked I did not know it was not air condition..The room was extremely hot I had to buy a fan 50 euros.because I couldn't cancel the reservation. The breakfast was not rich just cold boiled eggs and bread no bake beans suggages or fried eggs.While I was leaving I asked the receptionist to store my fan because I had too much luggage and my partner will come and pick the fan later in the day when she us back from the airport or tomorrow she vehemently refused I asked if I could speak to the manager she refused to see me and refused.This is my first time in Renne but the hotel experience was horrible and very uncomfortable. Now if I had spent additional 40 pounds I would have stayed in Novatel.My lesson I will never go there and will not recommend anyone except in winter.

Unprofessional customer service

It was a little difficult that l do not speak French

We could not have a meal because it was a bank holiday which we were not aware of

Lovely room, very comfortable and clean and the pillows were the best! We had an excellent dinner, the waiter recommended a very nice wine and the ambience was pleasant. Breakfast was plentiful and varied and the coffee was hot.

The room was very expensive not worth the cost The shower was a joke anybody over 10 stone can’t use as to small . You had to shower with door open All the restaurants were expensive in the area so best deal was the hotel . For me far to expensive and not worth the extra €20 compared to others Added to the city tax

Nothing like photos, very dated and shabby, Photos must have been taken 20 years ago, our room had generator or extractor fan below, it kept us awake all night. Not good

Overall rooms great but could do with air con. Breakfast good, but missed my fry up, Friendly staff and good service.

The staff are very friendly and the room itself, although basic, has a comfortable bed and was quiet.

My fault really but I assumed breakfast was included and it isn't. There is no hot food at breakfast and the buffet was extremely basic and for 14 euros, isn't worth it. If I had known I was going to be charged I wouldn't have had it. The dining room is also only open Mondays to Thursdays, so if you need an evening meal, you are going to need a car to get out as the hotel is remote.

Friendly and helpful staff

Small room and bathroom

Location was convenient for a stop over and the staff was very friendly and helpful. We didn't have the breakfast as we had to leave early but it looked amazing.

Considering it's a stop over type motel, sleep comfort is priority, but the beds were so narrow, you couldn't turn over for fear of falling off (and I'm a standard width!). Room was tiny.

bad value for money , overpriced during this week , should be 50% off. Bad humid smell in the room
