Needs a bit of an update in places. It's getting a bit too much of a shipwreck feel, but I kind of liked that.

The place is just amazing if you wanna get away from the crowd and relax in heaven. They treat you like royalty and make sure you feel home from the first moment. The restaurant is sublime, the beach is on your doorstep and the staff are professionals and yet super sweet and caring.We rented a scooter from them and explored the savanna, waterfalls and traditional villages. On booking breakfast is mentioned to be 13 euro but in reality it is much cheaper. Food is super delicious and very affordable. I hope they start giving cooking classes in future.

If you are there to stay in contact and make video calls, it won't happen. Connection and wifi is weak but believe me you won't need it there.

The best thing about this hotel is the amazingly friendly and helpful staff. The room was fine, but at first I thought it seemed a little expensive for what it was. However, after a morning of snorkelling with Erwin, and great day trip to the falls and a local village, followed by horse riding with Lexi and dinner with the lovely Norcia, I realise the value comes from the staff. The grandma and granddaughter duo in the kitchen also cook up lovely meals. We regret not staying another night to enjoy more snorkelling with Erwin.

Fan isn’t over the bed, so room was quite hot. We should have chosen the room with AC. Mosquito net was a bit dirty. Bathroom needs renovating.

The place is very beautiful and quiet, staff very polite and friendly, food delicious.

I will help the locals do everything I can to maintain the beauty and health of the coral reef.Also not use plastic, I recommend this to everyone.

Pondok Wisata Pantai Cemara is an outstanding resort in a superb location of Sumba island, highly recommend. The staff provide exceptional customer service, they really make sure the guest has the best possible experience and look after your needs at all times. I am very satisfied with the staff, location and overall experience in here. I was invited at a special dinner, a “welcome” dinner where I was offered excellent food and in a superb romantic spot in the restaurant. The staff is flexible to accommodate your needs, for example I needed an early breakfast and they were able to provide for me. The best part is the location , this kind of beach is excellent for swimming and snorkelling, unlike the southern beaches of Sumba, which are great for surfing but usually have too high waves for swimming. Here the water is crystal clear and the corals start right from the beach, the resort is right in the beach, it can save the hassle of getting to and from the beach and allows for a more relaxing holiday experience.

For the price I feel the room premises could have a little bit more comfort and maintenance. For example, I would advice to put a couch or a comfortable chair at the corner of the room, instead of having to sit on the bed, it would have been nice if there was a comfortable seating area to spend time on in the room . Overall it’s ok, it’s a very minor detail but I would look into it. Also, I feel there could be more options and flexibility for the food. For example if you are doing sports the whole day and are extra hungry it would have been nice to have portions adjusted. I feel the food was too oily and portions of rice and noodles too little generally. A bit less oil and a bit more noodles would have been appreciated. But overall these are minor details that did not impact my enjoyment here. But I hope they can improve these two aspects.

Amazing location. The service was fantastic. Staff is very friendly and kind. We loved every second in here. Food was delicious. They prepared a special gala dinner for my girlfriend and they really spoiled us. Fresh fish everyday. The room was lovely too

this is our second visit, this time with our Sumba family, we love this little piece of paradise. the children could not get enough of the warm cristal clear sea, but must of all we loved the warm hospitality, see you again next year xxx

friendly professional staff and family. very helpful and friendly. we had an early flight out and they packed us a tasty food pack and coffee which was very welcome. good restaurant and food.

nothing to not like. it was a little isolated but was close to the waterfall which was what we wanted.

the premises aren't in the best condition.. we had one of the basic rooms, which already are quite pricey, and the overall look and feel is a bit rough and decadent.On top of this, there is zero wifi and extremely little phone reception in the premises and around itUnfortunately we had to be connected for work purposes, so we had to leave after one night

The staff were incredibly wonderful and accomodating to our every need. Instant access to the beach and the restaurant even waited for us to get back to make sure we had eaten before closing. Amazing top service at this property.

The property is older and wifi was unavailable when I stayed there since there was an outage in the entire area.

Amazing hospitality. Inu Vonny and Mousa were so attentive and great attention to detail. Plus the staff like Isti, Debi, Marco and Lexi, went about their job with true professionalism, more than expected for such a remote resort. Well done

We stayed overnight and were the only guests in these pandemic times, but the staff were quite literally falling over themselves to take care of us and make us feel welcome. We had three meals in the restaurant (lunch, dinner and breakfast). All excellent.This a very well run, cute place with so many little touches and details. The beach setting is sublime. Really beautiful.Highly recommended if you’re in the area or even visiting Waingapu. It’s only a 45 min drive.

Our room was very rustic. One or two things didn’t maybe work so well (eg the concrete floor meant it was impossible to keep your feet clean) but overall it was great.

The place was amazing, the food so delicious, 5 stars services! We will come back! Thank you!
