    Pros +

    • A classic old hotel with warmth and great character. Renovated room and bath were awesome and well equipped. Very welcoming and gracious staff. A super value!!
    • Great location and staff friendly. Room was spacious and very clean.
    • good breakfast, comfortable rooms

    Cons -

    • All was great.
    • Only one pillow on bed. Would have been nice to have a choice of 1 or 2 so I did have to ask for another one. But for us the big thing missing was a kettle and some coffee or tea in the room. You could only have a beverage if you were having breakfast in the dinner. Shame.
    • there were ants in my room and they even crawled into the bed - staff completely indifferent!

Very good place to stay with very friendly and efficient staff. A change from all modern charmless hotels !Plenty of car parks around !

Love the location and the quirky rooms. This is our 4th stay here and all the rooms have been different

The same old complaint from us Brits....no facilities in the room to make a hot drink. After a 7 hour journey all you want is to make a nice cup of tea !! ??‍♀️?

Water not hot enough and ran out. Wi-Fi not available on iPhone charged extra for local tax which was advertised as included in price.

This was probably a very nice hotel before but has gone down now because routine maintenance has been neglected. Out of 4 light bulbs in the bathroom, 3 did not work (one was flickering). 2 out of 6 bulbs in the bedroom did not work. The radiators did not work (only lukewarm at their best). On the plus side, the secured private parking in their own compound at the rear is a real bonus -- but note: the two access archways for parking are very narrow. Beds are comfy and shower in my room (Rm 1) worked well. I did not try the breakfast so can't comment.

    Routine maintenance neglected.

Comfortable and large open bathroom and shower. Functional room in town center and walking distance from cafes, bars, restaurants, shops, market and cathedral. They charge extra for parking. Staff are very friendly and were extremely accommodating with my bad French.

There was a constant sound in the room, like that of a freezer unit or a generator somewhere near. Aside from that room was comfy but not cozy.

Well located old coaching type of hotel in town centre. The receptionist was very friendly and car parking in the gated area was a bonus. The room was quiet and well furnished. Bathroom sparkling clean. Breakfast was plentiful and short walk into town provided many restaurant options.

parking in the rear. warm and comfortable room, happy staff, excellent breakfast

earlier breakfast would have been good but it was Sunday!

    7JanePosted on: 11-27-2024

The room was warm, comfortable and clean. The breakfast was basic but plentiful. The hotel is in an ideal location for easy walking access to the centre of the old town where there is a good choice of a variety of restaurants. The parking was safe and secure and at a little cost.

The hotel is basic but for what you pay is good value. At checkout we found the receptionists more interested in talking to each other than offering the normal French polite "Bonne Journee/Bonne Route".

Bed very comfortableGood breakfastVery nice bathroomPrivate off street parking.

Bathroom had a bath rather than a shower.had to go up 3 flights of stairs to the room.I have reduced mobility and wasn't given the option of a more suitable room when booking but they are available.

    8AndyPosted on: 11-7-2024

    Good location by town centre

separate rooms for WC and shower but this is probably due to the constraints within an old building

    9Delsangel1Posted on: 11-2-2024

Love this hotel as it's so handy to break up our long journey from Calais to Limoges. We have been here twice before, and both times our room was in the annexe, the rooms are very basic but newly refurbished. This time we were in the main building, our room was excellent and also newly refurbished to a very good standard, with a huge comfy bed. Evreux is a lovely town with lots of shops and restaurants, with the hotel being just a few hundred yards from the centre of the town and the wonderful Cathedral.

Same complaint as with most other hotels these days... no tea or coffee making facilities in the room....I know.. it's a British thing!! Also, I couldn't get the shower to run with hot water it was just luke warm. Although not ideal, this is not enough to put us off returning to this hotel on our next visit to our place in France

    8PiroskaPosted on: 10-30-2024

Though the hotel is on the main road at a cross-section, the rooms in the back are quiet. Free parking right across the street. Walking distance from the cathedral (10 min.) and the town center. Comfy bed. Breakfast was basic. Receptionist was lovely!

The rooms and the hallway need a severe face-lift, as everything is quite outdated.

    5MicksilverPosted on: 10-20-2024

Cheap Price but I suppose you get what you pay for.Nice large bedroom with comfortable big double bed.Decent breakfast.Good location for exploring town.

Bathroom was a joke. Shower was step into a bath and hold the spray. It didn't clip in anywhere! Wall lights in bedroom had exposed live wiring and needed replacing. Spiral staircase up to our second floor room. why no lift?(I have photos but unable to upload to the review!)

    7DavidPosted on: 10-9-2024

Strong WiFi signal. Hot water for shower. Room adequately furnished. Fair value for the price.

Ceiling light had one of four light bulbs. Batteries in tv remote had been dead a long time. 3 floors, no elevator. Staircase would have been difficult with a big suitcase. Asked for an extra blanket, none available.

    3FrançoisePosted on: 10-7-2024

Central to where we needed to be, onsite parking and the outside was pretty.

Only meet staff when arriving and leaving as they were no where to be seen, advised that there was tea and coffee making facilities in room none provided, advised breakfast was included only to find customers to be charged €11 per person can find a good local cafe which you can get something nice for half the price. Shower falling apart and black mould in grout and shower pan, needs major upgrade, uncomfortable bed as 2 singles pushed together to make a king/double can feel gap. Just as well it was for only 2 nights.

    4CarolynPosted on: 10-4-2024

Great location, room dated, towels worn out, humped luggage up a spiral staircase, shower was just a wand. It was just okay. Wouldn’t stay there again…

Everything in the room is worn out. Shower was nasty.
