The location is good, being at one end of the main street in the central business district. The room was clean and had everything we needed. There was enough room for a family of three (2 adults + one child). The staff at the reception desk were exceptional, helping out whenever asked and giving us directions.Our rating reflects the fact that due to ongoing remedial work (asbestos removal) at the motel during our stay we did not feel comfortable.

It was unfortunate timing. The motel was having asbestos removal work done in the ground floor units when we stayed. This was not communicated to us before arrival and made us somewhat nervous during our stay. We parked our car some distance from the work area and when in our room made sure all windows and doors were securely closed. The work was being carried out by a professional asbestos removal team with proper controls in place, but if we had known this work was going to be conducted on the date of our stay before we booked, we would have looked for alternative accomodation. Without this negative experience we would have rated the motel "Good" to "Very Good" (7 or 8) rather than "Pleasant" (6)

Comfortable and clean motel room. Kitchen sink, microwave, toaster and kettle in room. Supermarket across the street. Restaurants close by.

The outer door lock does not seem super secure. An extra indoor latch/bolt would improve it.

Great location next to supermarket, petrol station and McDonald’s.

There’s only small heater that turns off every 5 minutes and electric blanket available so keeping a comfortable temperature throughout the night might be a challenge. Bathrooms kind of spartan style. Windows serve as ventilation system and the sink has two taps one with hot and with cold water so quite old school.

There was a bed available

They turned the tv and heater plugs off at 8.30pm there were only 3 channels anyway but still what the heck it was freezing lucky I could move the heater to another plug but couldn't move the tv

Really clean beds were so comfy and bedding was high quality! Bathroom lovely and modern and clean also! Really easy to check in and shops right across the road!

Convenient for the forgotten world adventures - room is a motel room so don't expect much but was clean, comfortable, and a good size. Tea and coffee facilities in the room as well.

Good facilities in the room which exceeded my expectations for a 3 star motel. Friendly, helpful staff. Great place to stay if you are doing any of the Forgotten World Adventures.

Very handy location just back from the road a little( room was well away from main road and quiet)Short walk to great pub and good food. Close to supermarket if that’s what you need.

Nothing to dislike.

Very close to supermarket, restaurants and laundry. Comfortable stay. A little train noise but that’s probably true of most of Taumarunui. Very friendly staff.

Staff were all lovely - very welcoming. We liked the fact that our Rail cart trip was so well-organised and left from the hotel and returned there.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Bed was very comfortable.

The location was great after we found the motel. Signage could have been better.

Great location. Across the road from supermarket and BP for early morning coffee. Allowed us to park our bikes in shed which was very helpful

Receptionist was quite curt. Growled at us for arriving after 6pm. We had no idea we needed to check in before then.

Shower poor water flow, heater and fan didn’t work.

Our group felt that the accommodations were clean and inviting. The staff were probably the friendliest group of people I have just about ever met, and that’s saying a lot because we’re a group of pretty nice people. The staff were so joyful.

I didn’t care for the fans in some of the rooms were broken. The lack of outlets. No outlet in one of the bathrooms and there was a short in one bathroom. The rooms are in various stages of updates but nice. I had asked for hot sauce for my eggs and they brought bbq sauce.
