    Pros +

    • The hotel is very well situated directly opposite the chateau. We received a very warm welcome. Lovely room, clean, warm and comfortable with chateau view. Very happy with stay and have already booked to stay again.
    • Friendly , helpful staff ….
    • An excellent location, right across the street from the château, office of tourism and a reasonable walk from the train station. The staff was very welcoming and knowledgeable. The staff helped us with our luggage. The hotel allowed our dog with a small deposit and thoughtfully provided a bedspread protector for the dog. A gluten free breakfast option was available. A wonderful experience.

    Cons -

    • We thought we had booked a “ superior room “ , in fact it was possibly the smallest hotel room we have ever rented . The proprietor said we would have got a better room at a cheaper price if we had booked directly with them , - this is a poor recommendation to continue using “ Booking.com “ ?
    • We drove and I will take the train next time because the hotel is in a walkable area and the nearest parking lot was full.
    • The stairs were ok for us but not suitable for elderly or disabled. They had a lift for the luggage which made things easier.

Close to heritage area and castle. Great bike storage. Really good breakfast and friendly staff.

This hotel is a true gem! Christophe and Pierre-Louis could not have been more welcoming, friendly and professional. Manon, their assistant was also extremely helpful. We felt that we lucked out to have happened upon this hotel. It was super clean and nicely decorated, our room had a great view looking over the ancient Chateau d'Angers, the breakfasts we had were generous, the hotel itself is in a great location (with a fab boulangerie/patisserie nextdoor too!), and has a lovely ambiance overall. I highly recommend this hotel! Thank you again to Christophe and Pierre-Louis!! Karen and David

You couldn't get a better location. The decor was beautiful and the two gentlemen at reception were amazing. So friendly and helpful. I loved the art and the big tea cups in the room. The shower was great, everything clean and modern. Great value and I would stay again.

The stairs were ok for us but not suitable for elderly or disabled. They had a lift for the luggage which made things easier.

Great hotel in great location, Christophe was very helpful with safe bicycles storage and restaurant recommended with easy walking of Hotel. Would revisit when back in Angers.

The hotel was in an excellent position for exploring the beautiful city of Angers. Although a little noisy during the day at the present due to the landscaping of a derelict area below the castle opposite, this will when finished really cement its position. The staff were amazingly helpful on many questions and spoke excellent English which helped a great deal. Due to the Unexpected June heatwave it was rather hot at night but a fan was provided and there were air conditioned rooms available. Because of global warming they realise that they are going to have to put units in all rooms.

    Couldn’t fault the place.

The location was perfect. A beautiful area opposite the castle and next to the old town.

I loved everything about my visit.

The staff were exceptionally nice. Sammy was wonderful and friendly and really made us feel welcome and taken care of. He was always greeted us with friendly comments and a smile. It was a wonderful experience staying here. The location is fantastic and we had a view of the castle. The breakfast was good.

The only problem I had was that I couldn't access the internet however my husband was able to. We tried to troubleshoot but it didn't work. The room is plainly decorated but it is big and comfortable. There is a kettle but we had the breakfast so didn't need to make coffee in the room. It was basic with no fridge for milk.

The beautiful, spotlessly clean hotel is located in a perfect location next to the Angers Castle, the tourist visitor center, and an incredibly good bakery. It is also within short walking distances to nice restaurants, shops, parks, museums (definitely be sure to visit the great museums!), historical sites, and the train station. The view of the castle and each evening's sunset from our room’s window was amazing! Breakfasts were deliciously filling and the coffee is fantastic! Special thanks to the talented, thoughtful, helpful, kind, fun team that run this incredible gem.

Everything was perfect! We highly recommend and would happily return.

Breakfast was as expected the owners spoke very good English which was good for us. They went out of their way to accommodate our dog. The location was very close to the ancient wall and a square where there was plenty of eating places

The rooms were very clean. I like they have wood/vinyl plank flooring instead of carpet. The staff was incredible, so nice and helpful. We are a family of 5 and they were able to get us two rooms next to each other with a view of the fort. Breakfast was fruits, various bread with jelly, hot chocolate, orange juice, cereal, yogurt. Excellent location for walking to the fort, the medieval area and restaurants. Rented a car from the train station nearby.

The fort view from one of the rooms isn’t quite as good because of the angle of the building. You lock the room with a key but I would like a separate lock or bolt on the inside so at night there was something other than just the key lock. (I never felt in danger, just a preference).

Wonderful, warm and helpful team running the hotel and cafe. Great location and value for our family. Easy to walk to many places in Angers. It was our first time to Angers and location and staff here made it easier to enjoy.

Perfect location with amazing view on the castle + very welcoming and friendly staff (Sami)

We felt we arrived as customers and left as friends. Nothing was too much trouble. We enjoyed travel tips to slightly off-the-radar destinations, help with computer problems, parking hints, places to eat, and generally, they were always on hand for help or simply an enjoyable conversation. A room overlooking the castle was the icing on the cake. Despite the central location, the hotel was quiet, day and night.

    Can't think of anything.

Nice clean pretty room with a castle view. Extremely nice staff.

I would have loved a kettle but I appreciate that’s less of a thing in France than the Uk.
