Grand Hotel de la Gare, Angers

The location and 6:00 a.m breakfast was perfect for us to catch an early morning train. The room and bathroom were very clean. The staff was pleasant and helpful.

The small entryway and stairs to the first floor were difficult to manage with luggage, but there was an elevator to upper floors. The room was small, but clean, and adequate for our purpose.

Great location, nice front desk, perfectly functional rooms and bathrooms (with a caveat). Comfortable beds. Acceptable breakfast, marginal but acceptable. I like this hotel. I've stayed here before but it wasn't in summer.

It was 37° yesterday and my room was 39°. Those are Celsius degrees, let's just call it 100° f. The room was impossible.A hotel with a 39° room is not a three-star hotel. It's barely a two-star hotel. If they want to stay in business as anything other than a slum hotel they need to invest in air-conditioning.

The staff were exceptional and very kind providing a portable heater for the room when heating wasn’t working.

Great central location, very quiet room even with the busy street right below us. Staff were so friendly and helpful, thank you so much for helping us with a dinner reservation after a particularly late arrival.

No air conditioning in the room, although a small tabletop fan was provided so we used this to get through the warm night.

Excellent location just opposite the station --- which is why we chose it. The room was small but adequate for a short stay.Breakfasts were very good for variety and choice.

I came to Angers for a short trip. The location of the hotel is great, which is just across from the rail way station. The staff at the reception are very friendly.

Convenient location in central Angers. Clean modern room. Staff was English speaking and pleasant. Elevators worked once you got to the first floor.

We wanted to drop our bags off but there was no drop off space in front of the hotel so we had to schlep our bags from a few blocks away. There were steps up to the small welcome desk with heavy bags. No amenities in the room - no shampoo, no wash cloths. Beds were not particularly comfortable.

The hotel is conveniently located beside the station. The "Brasserie" on the first floor very good.

There was a strong smell in the room when I arrived that fortunately faded out after I opened the windows.

The better selection of restaurants were a big far to walk to ... a short taxi however.
