YHA Apollo Bay Eco

Everything was quite pleasant. WE were very happy with our stay.

Nothing was wrong

Distance to town center and beach walkable, clean rooms

Wifi connection was very poorly and didn’t work most of the time. Please change sponges and cleaning products in the kitchen more regularly

Location and spacious and eco conscious. Loved the yoga! Made my stay above and beyond.

Little pricey for the dorm but best options on the coast

Very poor internet connection - the worst I have had in any place I stayed

Room was clean. The bed was comfortable and warm. I enjoyed sitting on the balcony looking at the hills and could see the water between the trees. It was peaceful and quiet.

There was no tea, coffee, sugar salt or staples such as oil to cook with.There was a strong food smell in the access area to the bathrooms. The stairs up to the room were a little annoying.

The building, facilities and location.

Location location location

All night the room doors are on a automatic shit. So when people open them and walk away the door closes with a massive bang. People were leaving and coming back to there room all night. Hardly slept and due to this wouldn't recommend it or stay there again.

Bad

There was an ongoing leak all night that you could hear next to the window of our room. My partner ended up covered in a rash after sleeping in the bed. The people around us were extremely noisy. The toilet seats were covered in urine and there was a moldy musty smell throughout the place.

Very spacious and clean. Lots of different living, outdoor areas & even a study space. All different ages and types of travellers (eg families or couples) happily occupying one location together Very well equipped and clean kitchen.

Room was next to bathroom. It was a bit noisy from people going early/late when we tried to sleep and noise of hairdryer & handdryer through the wall The restricted check in times were a little restrictive with the bus arrival times from Melbourne.

Very clean and tidy. Especially kitchen. They have everything you need. They even have a TV room so I could watch Netflix.

It's not about the property, but there's 2 Chinese in my room and they were loud. They started talking in the room at 7am in the morning, they don't even care we were still sleeping. Plus, one of those snored very very loudly, I couldn't sleep so I had to get ear plugs from my car in the middle of the night. As a road-triper, I booked a hostel because I wanted nice and quiet night and comfortable bed, but it was annoying.

Good

Not being able to check in until 4pm, after a big drive I needed some rest before my function that started at 5, I had to sleep in the car park after spending $200 for a basic room that was empty.

Exceptional

YHA Hostel is absolutely fantastic! Everything is spotlessly clean, with two fully equipped kitchens, comfortable lounge and TV rooms, and a rooftop with lounge chairs. The atmosphere is super relaxing, and it's just a short walk to the beach. Loved it!

One of the cleanest “hostels” we’ve stayed in. Bed was super comfy with an actual duvet not just a sheet! Plus a big additional blanket just in case.. Shared bathrooms were spotless, kitchen was like being at home clean and full of everything you’d need.. the lounge rooms were equipped with comfy furniture dvds books smart tv. Roof top terrace great to chill. Cannot fault this, just round the corner from a few pubs or restaurants, and has parking! Staff were great answered all the questions and very friendly!

Lovely location. Rooms were clean and had plenty of space to spread out.

Kitchens were grotty as others didn’t clean them well. Dish cleaning supplies were ancient and germ ridden. Most disgusting cloths I have ever seen.

Second time with YHA and again it exceeded expectations. Comfy beds, super clean bathrooms, great common areas, and free morning yoga on the terrace was a nice bonus.

A comfortable TV lounge, with another longe for quiter times.

The late 4pm check in.

Very nice modern Eco property in the beautiful Apollo Bay. Close to everythiing still peacefull for a nice relaxing stay. Private rooms are spacious enough. Bed is comfy and you’ll sleep to the sound of the sea and birds song. Comunal spaces cover for all the needs. Wifi was good. Friendly staff. Lits to explore in the surrounding areas i.e Wildlife Wonders. Highly recommended.
