Cons -
- No Eating facilities open for any meals. Stairs for older people with luggage a bit difficult. Staff not particularly interested in their customers
- We were given a bottle of wine on arrival as staff said we had be overcharged by booking.com. The room was not as described. Very dark, old and smaller than we thought it would be. Very disappointing.

Great location; well appointed room.
Minor observation that the carpet was well past its use by date.
It may well be old and in need of renovating, however, I’d love to see them maintain its charm. I’ve stayed in many hotels and motels and the Anchorage Seafront Hotel will always be my first choice in Victor Harbour. The staff were wonderful! It was lovely and clean with zero mustiness and the bed was better than most. The cool sea breeze all night long was divine, and a refreshing relief from the Deep Creek Bushfires we had fled.
I truly is a beautiful piece that makes up a wonderful old country town.
Love this place. Old school hotel with grace and charm, right by the sea. Will be back!
Nothing not to like
This hotel has so much character, we loved having our own private bit of the balcony to look out at the ocean. Great location. Really good restaurant in the hotel with nice fresh ingredients. Good shower. Comfy beds. Friendly staff. Some lovely old furniture fitting with the age & character of the hotel.
The bathroom was a little tired but functioned fine.
Super friendly, comfortable rooms, rustic and old school , definitely not a generic hotel. It's old but it's cool, highly recommended
Location and views from balcony
Creaky floors - bit noisy
Great sea views. Friendly staff. Room clean. Nice bottle of wine, 2 waters and some snacks left for us. Good restaurant downstairs. Heritage building.
Tv was a bit old. Needs to upgrade to smart tv for streaming services.
The beds were super comfortable and the location is perfect. Although the bathroom was separate to the bedroom it wasn't a drama at all. Everything was very clean and we will definitely stay here again.
I loved that there was access to a balcony that looked over the sea
It is an older historic building that has yet to be fully modernised. Lack of accessible working power points and the complete absence of a wardrobe meant the be was not as comfortable as it could be . As we we were only staying a night and it was a budget room we dealt with it
Like the old look of property, the room with Spa was great. The food mostly was great and staff were friendly
I heard someone snoring on the last night had to leave tv on low to sleep lol.The burger i had for dinner down stairs had ham and heap of cheese not sure what that was about did not taste nice, very strange. All other meals were great
Helpful friendly staff, good food, amazing location
Extremely old, run down rooms. Not very clean. Bathroom door didn’t shut and exhaust fan didn’t work and couldn’t open windows so bathroom was like a sweat box. Chose a family room but couldn’t stay in it. Extremely stuffy and small for 4 people. Pub looks to be a lovely heritage place, shame there’s no live put into the accommodation
Love the views. Good location .
I was overcharged by booking.com. No aircon in room , bed uncomfortable , backs for the price
Wow! My room lead out onto the balcony with an awesome view over the bay. I loved the heritage look because the hotel has heritage status, and yet the hotel felt so comfortable. Walk down the street to all the major attractions and the Steam Train’s Victor Harbor station and the train to Goolwa is right behind the hotel. Fabulous cafe downstairs and a minutes walk to the main street with cafes, bars, restaurants, banks, shops etc. There is so much to do and see in this area you might like to stay a week or two.
Location
No air con, I didn't read that only a fan was provided. It was a pedestal fan. The room maintained the heat all night long.
Balcony and ocean view. Cafe attached.
We needed two beds. The room was advertised as a Queen bed and sofa bed. First night, tried to sleep on it. It collapsed, and was then told that none of the sofa beds can be slept on (even though it was made up). A painful trundle bed was placed in the room to compensate. Very uncomfortable but staff were good and did what they could.
Really good location, very clean, beautiful view
Spa didn’t work Had a nice bath instead
Quaint hotel in a great position. Very clean, staff friendly, nice touch with a welcoming bottle of wine and nibbles.
