Cons -
- The man at reception was unfriendly very unhelpful just chucked me the keys and told me room around back. The place is run down and unclean. Overpriced ++++Only stayed here in desperation...would never stay again
- Room was under train tracks. Trains woke us 3 times. No blanket on bed. Just a thin spread. Very cold. Heater incredibly noisy so could not run it all night.
- Camp is situated directly underneath a train bridge which trains ran over right through the night. Very loud noisy and whole building shook, would have been terrifying for children. Had signs up all over the place stating no refunds given. No free wifi.

Close to ferry
Owner was awful and intimidating when I let him know there was no lighting in the woman's toilet block. Nasty experience. Ended up leaving. Have found out since there is bad reviews on trip advisor. Wish I'd seen that. Never go there.
The old train carriage cabin is still very cool! We arrived quite late and left really early so we didn’t really use any facilities other than the toilets.
There were no lights working in the ladies toilets near our cabin. We also couldn’t get our cabin TV going.
No breakfast. Comfortable
More power points. Better lighting oven sink area. No outside lighting.
The park was easy to find and close to town.
Firstly we could not get anyone at reception. After a few visits, I had to make an international call for someone to come. Cabin door was stuck and would not open. No hot water in kitchen. Really basic old furnishings and equipment. No power points, bedside tables or lamps near the beds. No towels, or coffee, tea, etc. Cabin was old and carpet smelt musty. Showers and toilets were not close. Brochure said wireless internet but you had to purchase a connection. A very disappointing stay.
Very poor
The unit had funny smell, with like havent been open for fresh air for awhile. Terrible pillows too flat, had to get our blanket to fold it for comfty. Bedspread had dirty marks on it.
Location is about 15 mins walk from town. Backdrop of bush, and a little stream at the front.
Toilet block near our cabin had no working light. It was not made clear when booking that bedding and towels came at an additional cost.
Location was beautiful. Distance to the shared toilets and showers was very convenient. Bed was very comfortable, and having running water in the room was really handy. I saw a weka outside my room in the evening which was just lovely.
Nothing, everything was great value for money.
Location was suitable
Down graded cleanliness because of the extreme mould in the folds of the curtains.Obviously lacking ventilation. Was not able to operate heater. No towel railsHad to hang towels on end of bunk
Easy check in and check out.Self contained cabin had a mini fridge.Fantastic shower pressure.
Cute holiday park with comfy accomodations. Staying in an old railcar was fun and had a nice little kitchenette for making meals. The showers were hot, laundry facilities helpful after a week of backpacking.
It was all good.
I stayed in a nice clean modern purpose built cabin. The single room accommodation was larger than some I have stayed at. It had its own cutlery and crockery, kettle, toaster and basin. There is a separate dining area which I didn't use ( I don't cook on holiday) that may have cooking facilities.
Very clean and comfortable. Quiet and picturesque location close to town. Great value for money.
Great location for the ferry. Easy check in and all I needed for somewhere to stay before getting ferry early morning.
Fantastic hosts. Been before & will do again. Great people. We arrived at after midnight & everything was organized for us. We forgot our blankets & called through & hosts didn't even want $ Everything was spotless. & just a great atmosphere. We could bring our dog & leave him in his cage:) Honestly. We wouldn't stay anywhere else in Picton.
People nice, had ensuite cabin was cosy clean and well priced. I enjoyed my stay, way better than staying at a local backpackers. Ill definitely stay again.
We only stayed one night as we were getting the early ferry back to North Island. It was a great location for that one night, and we had everything we needed.
We booked an ensuite cabin for 2 nights. We enjoyed our stay. Our cabin served our needs, it was clean, the shower was super powerful and the bed was comfortable. The overhead train track didn't bother us either. The holiday park is minutes away from the township and Ferry Terminal which was another reason why we booked there. They also offer a shared kitchen, lounge area and laundry facilities.
